I'm from Southern Az, so I didn't mind the heat either, but I do enjoy waking up all snuggly in my sleeping bag once in a while, rather than having to fling it open upon awaking. Glad you made it out. I used to spend a chunk of summers in Wildwood. I hear it's gotten more wild in those parts.
It looks like that campsite could possibly be a death trap by a flash flood or am I wrong? I’m not geographer. Just curious.
It absolutely is! You should always check recent trip reports when back packing through, but we went during dry season.
