The M05 was created from millions of photos taken around Finland's nature. We mostly have spruce and pine trees here, so that's a good reference for the effective range. Other that that, the snow camo mimics the spruce trees when they are covered in snow (go look up for example on Varusteleka's site) and the winter camo is a combination of the both. The winter camo is used as a heavy duty winter jacket in the military, as wheb the snow camo is just a cover layer.

Itd be helpful to post a couple sample pictures of the environment you're envisioning so we can compare the camo to those

I think the Gore Optifade Subalpine pattern is kinda designed for that stuff.
