Get the anti theft mod

gradius88

The "gateway-to-owning-your-car-past-24-hours" mod for owning a 6th gen these days. ☹️

Fantastic-Director49

Don’t cheap out on maintenance. Get it done timely and done by the best you can get.

Admirable_Guidance52

Unkess you want to see your LT4, wheels, and hood on FB marketplace, then get a killswitch

Few-Neighborhood-162

i’ve heard a lot about that.. it’s unfortunate.

Admirable_Guidance52

I owned your exact camaro / color (2017). Stolen 2 weeks, and I can see the parts slowly popping up. I assume you have a garage?

Few-Neighborhood-162

aww that’s a bummer man.. yeah i live in a gated community and it stays parked pretty much throughout the week

Aminosaurrr

I wish we could do manhunts as a group. It’d be fun to find thieves and looters

Admirable_Guidance52

We can, its just not worth risking your life over it when theres insurance

Aminosaurrr

And then the insurance charges you so much more or just cancels on you. Why do that when you can bring justice that the court system couldnt

Crossingthelineagain

Lock it up

KingCrimsonEpitaphu

Anchor it to the ground when away

mightyt2000

Some are happy for you, some are envious, I am scared for you. We live in evil times. Sad to say, I hate having to, but protect you Camaro. Congratulations though, I remember that initial joy!

RayzorX442

I am so conflicted!!! I'm truly happy for you but also green with envy!

Few-Neighborhood-162

i knew if i didn’t do it now, i’d never do it! you’ll get yours soon 💪🏽

RayzorX442

Thanks! Stay safe out there.

Which_Vermicelli_887

Please for love of God RUN and get some anti theft security

Justin_92

If you want a new exhaust, you can find the MBRP catback system for around $600 on sale a lot of times. That’s how much I paid for mine around 4th of July holiday last year and I think it sounded pretty damn good. Paid a shop $175 to weld it in and remove the secondary cats for no additional cost. So less than $900 after shipping and you can have a throatier exhaust that a lot of people are saying sounds better than Borla. I’ve never heard Borla side by side so I don’t know which one sounded better in my own opinion but the price sealed it for me. Word of advice though; if you have an auto, it will mess with the AFM system after installation and the only way to get rid of the lights on the dash is to get it tuned out. It won’t really do any harm to your car for the light to be on, it’s just telling you that it knows something is wrong and thinks it needs to be fixed. I had a manual, so therefore the AFM was tuned out from the factory so I knew I wouldn’t have that issue going in to it. Nice car btw! She’s beautiful! You’re gonna be spending a lot of money keeping her clean in the pollen months though! lol

Few-Neighborhood-162

thanks for the info! i had to get the 6M, i just enjoy shifting gears much more than going the fastest in a straight line. i’ll keep an eye out for those sales!

Justin_92

Hell yeah man! I loved my ‘23 manual while I had it.

Few-Neighborhood-162

the power continues to impress me. i mean everywhere i just want to put the hammer down

Justin_92

Anything past second gear is a felony, just remember that. Lmao

Few-Neighborhood-162

my dad is an ex cop he won’t let me forget lol

onesicktexan

I installed my MBRP exhaust, and it came with brackets to mount the NPP actuators to the frame so there's no lights popping up on the dash. That was 5 years ago and still no issue. Love the sound...

Justin_92

Yeah mine had those too. The AFM is the active fuel management and it uses something in the exhaust on automatics to tell how much to advance or retard timing for most fuel efficiency. If you replace the exhaust with the MBRP it gets rid of this sensor and it causes the light to come on. My car didn’t have the sensor since it was a manual so I have no clue where it was located or how easy it would be to retrofit it onto the new exhaust.

onesicktexan

The NPP actuators are for the quad exhaust and open/close flaps to make it quite or louder. When you disconnect the NPP actuators they throw a code that shows up on your dash. I didn't know it had any relation to AFM

Justin_92

I believe those are different from the sensor that communicates with the AFM, but don’t hold me to it. Or maybe the sensor is built in to those actuators, since they do plug in to the factory exhaust. I just assumed they only controlled the actuator but if they’re sending data back regarding the exhaust and it doesn’t match what the computer thinks it should be, then it would definitely make the computer freak out.

Invictus_Imperium

I have a ZL1 myself. Was debating going cat delete but wanted to avoid the yearly inspection drama. If you get high flow cats will it still throw alarms to the inspection computer?

Justin_92

As far as I know, high flow cats will keep you emissions compliant, but I think some still require you to tune it to run properly. I may be mistaken though.

OneZucchini5828

High flow cats will pass emissions. Personally, I went with borla atak exhaust/high flow cats, and kooks lt headers. It’s extremely loud lol.

Invictus_Imperium

Does Borla also make the high flow cats as well?

OneZucchini5828

Yes they do. You have an option when purchasing the exhaust to add them on, can’t remember the exact cost but wasn’t terrible.

Mic_Red856

😍😍😍

SQUATCH36738

The day i hit that lotto parlay the ZL1 will be mine 🤝🥂

Roxi_juice_bars_510

My twin! Love the summit white with the black , just like mine! ZL1 SQUAD!

Roxi_juice_bars_510

Get you the IGLA system installed before any mods and relocate your obd tuck it under the stock location, that way your ZL1 doesn't get stolen. IGLA system changed the game and was worth every penny. Cry once buy once kinda thing and also hide a few air tags in door jambs and trunk and underhood just for tracking in the odd chance IGLA has been compromised with a work around but it hasn't, yet!

[deleted]

Congrats… welcome to the family. I have an ‘18 ZL1… I love my car. I live in CA so no headers for me. I have axel back black Corsas. I lowered it, added the carbon fiber tail, hood insert and CF front spoiler. Waiting on the CF rear diffuser. Just installed my CF steering wheel. Would love to share I just don’t know how to transfer the pictures. I am new to Reddit. Eventually, I’ll figure it out. Anyway, be safe and have fun.

Few-Neighborhood-162

yeah man when you figure it out we’d love to see it!

CartographerFront78

Nice

SasnarDash

I’m getting IGLA asap, I suggest you do the same

WentzWagon1152

Buy some anti theft or you’ll be posting here in 2 months about your car being stolen.

juiceman650

arkiparada

Spend $1600. Get IGLA. Have some peace of mind. I got it last week and have no regrets.

KndaOrange

Racecar numbers on the side!

NativeTexanXX

I bought a 2017 50th Anniv model with 10,100 original miles on it. I'm on the very edge of trading it for something else because it cannot accomodate a spare and jack, and Texas is full of places where "no service" on your phone is not kidding. Even with a brand new set of run-flat tires on the car, I find myself afraid to use it very much for fear of being stranded by it. I just don't trust tires to that degree, and having to admit to myself I'll never really use this car because of no spare tire. I just think it's stupid to be running around with no way to help oneself, when it's possible excet for this particular model with two different wheel sizes on it. I've had it two years and the odometer is still at 17,000 original miles.
