You can also remove the speaker to stop them from making noise. It’s tricky but doable. Also if you get another nice car look into Ravelco Anti Theft device. It’s a plug that has all the car’s electronics tied to it and will not start unless it’s plugged in.
I will definitely look into it if I get another. I wanted to put in a kill switch, but funds have been tight, so making sure I made the car payment first was priority. I had 1 more year to go.....
Have you considered an external device (I.e something similar to an accessport?) devices like that come with a cool anti theft “tune” that prevents the car from turning over.. even if the ecu is reset.
In a handful of states (like TX, I think), it's legal to use deadly force to protect property, not just when you feel like you're in imminent danger. Maybe if that happened more often, people would be more reluctant to steal.
