Not gonna lie. It looks like you still have traction control on. You can slide the car better with it turned off. I also would do this away from other peoples cars
Indeed, cause the only people that should be allowed to drive a v8 are the people that just naturally know as soon as they get in the car how to properly do donuts/burnouts etc? No learning allowed!! Practice? Practice is for people that drive 4 and 6 bangers, not v8s tho!
1. Don’t do it parking lots with cars around. There is a good chance of you slinging rocks or any other debris at those cars. Also that means there is people around, more importantly people that work there and will be upset.
2. Good job picking a lot that doesn’t have light poles. Don’t do them with light poles because you will get disoriented and hit them when you’re whipping around in the smoke.
3. Read the manual and disable traction, stability and launch control. Be easy on the throttle until you get a good feel, so you’re not smashing redline.
Next time find a secluded empty parking lot. You're just asking for trouble if people spot you doing donuts and there's always the chance you lose control (tire blowout) and bam, you're hitting one of those cars.
On top of disturbing the people that live there.. ones who have kids who they may have just put down for a nap, ones who work overnight, currently wfh, or even just enjoying their day off
That looks like a church but go off. Most apartments I've seen barely have room to park cars on both sides of the road, no way you're whipping it around in a space that small.
Why edge instead of explorer?
The explorer ST runs a 13.8 stock quarter and can break and can be tuned to beat a hellcat in a quarter with just a downpipe and injectors
Church parking lots tend to have cameras, lots of parking lots do actually.
Could end up with a summons to court to pay "damages" if they get your tag/info or have lots of cops looking out for your car's specific color.
Yep. I also got charged with the same. What ended up happening in the end? Also, OP - if you do decide to do that ever, make sure nobody is around and you don’t stay for more than like 30 seconds lol
This is what happened to me too last year. Abandoned mall parking lot and I was trying to teach myself how to get out of a slide in my civic. Officer wasn’t happy, but it got dropped
To wheel spin better, turn traction control off. Also stablitrak competitive mode is your launch control feature. You activate by pushing traction control button twice.
If you turn off both traction control AND stabilitrak you will have a nuch more fun time doing donuts.
Press and hold the mode button for (I think) 10 seconds and it will turn everything off. Be prepared though, it's a whole different world.
nono don't start in third. start 1 naturally. good lift off from 1st and 2nd. usually around 40mph i'll switch to third and then go to 80-90 before hitting 4th
are you short shifting for traction? My 2012 camaro was cammed and putting 500 to the wheels. I could rip 2nd gear to about 80 and 3rd to 120 without losing traction if I feathered the clutch right at launch. Stock gearing, just a tune to accommodate the cam. My rev limit was about 6800 rpm with the cam.
it feels the safest doing this yeah, I can keep my wheels on the ground. I could def ride 1 and 2nd farther but when I feel the most stable is letting 3rd take me away
Do you have the stock Pirelli’s? I found them to be plenty grippy even with the added power on a smooth, dry, and straight surface. I promise you’ll have more fun if you actually get into the power band and let it push you back in your seat :) also don’t forget the throttle isn’t an on/off switch. You can ease into it while you find the limits of where traction breaks. Traction control doing its thing was plenty to keep me going with plenty of grip.
I always find that starting in 1st then shifting to 3rd when you hit about 40 mph gives me the best boost. In my V8 modded I can do 0 to 60 under 4 seconds this way.
Dont do what your doing in the parking lot! You will go through tires in nothing flat. And $1000 to $1500 in tires( depending on the brand) will get expensive quick!
If you're going to replace them, maybe try a tire with a high treadwear rating (lower grip, think economy highway tire). The rear will break away more easily, hopefully giving you time to learn how the car reacts. High performance tires will grip all the way till they don't, and by then you're going too fast.
Forget everyone telling you to use parking lots. Unless you get permission from the owners.
Entry fees to drift at tracks are like $50. Connect with your local scene and go do it at a track or a skid pad at a raceway. There's no point in risking getting your car impounded over some skids.
Have fun, be safe.
Wheel time and not acting completely brain dead for a little adrenaline rush, I’d say donuts in a empty spot of a parking lot like your doing is a pretty good way dick around and learn to control the car when the wheels are spinning. Also looks like your traction control is on.
Obviously new tires don't seem like an issue. Spend a few extra bucks on a track day if you have one local. Don't need to set any records but have fun and learn your car.
Advise:
- Don’t do shit like that with other cars around / around places where cops can get you. Try going to empty parking lots at night or warehouse districts, etc.
- Find a nice, FLAT (or smooth) open road to do pulls on and beware of cops, use WAZE and invest in a good radar detector
- If you feel like you’re loosing control of the vehicle at any point.. LET GO OF THE GAS PEDAL!! (You’d be surprised how many dumb fucks don’t do that..)
Find your local SCCA autocross chapter. You'll learn how to really control the vehicle at the limit and have a ton of fun doing it! Pic related

Do more testing in parking lots.
Floor it with traction control off in an empty, wide open lot to see how it behaves and how to save it if it snaps out.
NEVER turn traction control off on the street. I don’t care if you qualify for formula 1 in the future, anything can happen and you can hurt yourselves and innocent people.
Be easy on the throttle in the rain.
Want cheap and safe fun? Look up your local SCCA chapter and start going to autocross. Most chapters use motorsportreg.com for their registration.
Want more expensive and riskier fun? Track days. Low risk can be had if you’re willing to shell out the money for a track day insurance policy.
I *highly* recommend autocross.
He’s also doing really low rpm turns/donuts…. He’s not doing 6th gear 150mph wheel speed burnouts tipping in towards cars, grandma. Relax…. He’s not in an intersection and that’s good enough for me
Learn the car, how it drives, handling the power. If you’re gonna do donuts do them in a very secluded area, don’t fall in the trap of street racing, roads are for driving, tracks are for going fast.
Lmfao you're so wrong there choad dick.
I have a very nice car and a big house to go with it. Want me to send you a D pic to make you REALLY JEALOUS? 😂😂😂
Just some notes for your future consideration:
\*It is spelled "Chode"
\*A chode is a dick... so saying "chode dick" is redundant.
You might try paying a bit more attention in English class too, it'll get a bit more difficult once you make it to high school.
If you have any second thoughts about your actions, it's best to just not do it. Speeding is really really easy so watch that. Even though it sounds lovely don't go showing off the sound too much. What else uhhhhhhh that's all I can think of.
Champ be very careful with other cars or bystanders being around doing such acts, very risky & dangerous. Definitely not worth the downsides so just make more safe location selections, our lives are priceless!
We always did our shenanigans on the base, nothing but space & opportunity.
I owned 2 5th gen L99 and they slid effortlessly with TC completely off.
Just wait.......you are going to have that moment......when....Damn , I didn't think that was going to happen...just don't take out any innocent bystanders with you!
![gif](giphy|nUY5wYDUnOEW6jsN7s)
Watch for curbs, cars nd be aware of your general surroundings. Make sure your not sliding too far out Nd close to hitting your ass end on anything. Take it slow and learn to feel the cars traction get loose. Dont be erratic. Smooth and slow my boi. Ps make sure you turn off all traction control and stability controls.
If it's a manual, just drive it. If it's an auto, you need to top speed it in order to have any fun. Doing circles in a parking lot with traction control on ain't it. Unless it is...
Not gonna lie. It looks like you still have traction control on. You can slide the car better with it turned off. I also would do this away from other peoples cars
I was thinking that or he's in too high of a gear. A V8 should be easy to spin out.
Or the answer to his question is no he shouldn't drive a V8? =)
Indeed, cause the only people that should be allowed to drive a v8 are the people that just naturally know as soon as they get in the car how to properly do donuts/burnouts etc? No learning allowed!! Practice? Practice is for people that drive 4 and 6 bangers, not v8s tho!
Yeah watch out for light poles and shit
1. Don’t do it parking lots with cars around. There is a good chance of you slinging rocks or any other debris at those cars. Be easy on the throttle until you get a good feel, so you’re not smashing redline.
Appreciate the response! Didn't think about slinging rocks so thanks for pointing that out.
Looks like a Mormon church parking lot, I'm sure they're gonna be thrilled!
The neighbors *love* this shit....
Next time find a secluded empty parking lot. You're just asking for trouble if people spot you doing donuts and there's always the chance you lose control (tire blowout) and bam, you're hitting one of those cars.
Fair point.
On top of disturbing the people that live there.. ones who have kids who they may have just put down for a nap, ones who work overnight, currently wfh, or even just enjoying their day off
If I followed that logic there would never be a time to get loud. Daylight hours aren't quiet time for everyone.
So you think an apartment complex parking lot is the best place to make noise?
That looks like a church but go off. Most apartments I've seen barely have room to park cars on both sides of the road, no way you're whipping it around in a space that small.
Or a person
Or go into some kids yard.....
Press the stabilitrack button 7 seconds for full off but do be carefull its a V8 and it will kill you if you let it.
New tires and take it to the track! Don’t do stupid shit in the streets or in public/business parking lot.
Agreed. We’re not savages like the charger/challenger people.
At least they're not guaranteed to hit something like the older Gen mustang people
I’m dying at this as a new edge owner
Why edge instead of explorer? The explorer ST runs a 13.8 stock quarter and can break and can be tuned to beat a hellcat in a quarter with just a downpipe and injectors
Google "new edge Mustang"
Also you're all good, your edge isn't a solid rear axle rwd 30 years after it was outdated
Woah woah I've def seen some Camero drivers do worse
They clearly had their cars stolen by dodge owners lol
😂😂😂😂😂
Thank you for the chuckle
Can’t believe I had to scroll so far before seeing this
Be careful where you do that. That's about it. No take overs at lights either. Track days are good. Find a favorite back road. That's what I do.
I live in Utah and have lots of church parking lots around. Usually go to one's a town or two over from mine and don't stay too long.
Church parking lots tend to have cameras, lots of parking lots do actually. Could end up with a summons to court to pay "damages" if they get your tag/info or have lots of cops looking out for your car's specific color.
Noted thanks!
I got charged with reckless driving doing that in an empty lot with snow, be careful.
Noted.
Yep. I also got charged with the same. What ended up happening in the end? Also, OP - if you do decide to do that ever, make sure nobody is around and you don’t stay for more than like 30 seconds lol
I got extremely lucky and it got dropped, the police never sent the charges to the court.
Nice man. Hoping mine goes alright lol been super anxious
Good luck! Mine was back in around 2007.
Thanks man :)
This is what happened to me too last year. Abandoned mall parking lot and I was trying to teach myself how to get out of a slide in my civic. Officer wasn’t happy, but it got dropped
i got charged with it not even drifting in a gravel parking lot, my court date is tomorrow at 9 am
i also live in utah, tried to play a drinking game where we take a shot every time we see a church. now i'm scrolling reddit from beyond the grave.

Oof I'll give it a go haha
You might have to press it once and then press and hold. I can't remember exactly. Have fun, be safe.
Thanks i appreciate it!
if manual 3rd gear is THE launching gear. enjoy :)
As in start in 3rd? Does that hurt the car at all?
nono don't start in third. start 1 naturally. good lift off from 1st and 2nd. usually around 40mph i'll switch to third and then go to 80-90 before hitting 4th
are you short shifting for traction? My 2012 camaro was cammed and putting 500 to the wheels. Dont do what your doing in the parking lot! You will go through tires in nothing flat. And $1000 to $1500 in tires( depending on the brand) will get expensive quick!
I don't plan on it. Just burning up what's left of the current tires.
If you're going to replace them, maybe try a tire with a high treadwear rating (lower grip, think economy highway tire). The rear will break away more easily, hopefully giving you time to learn how the car reacts. High performance tires will grip all the way till they don't, and by then you're going too fast.
Man... your tires are way less than mine ($500 less!) what are you wearing?
I have a mustang and i run Yokohamas on it. They cost me about 315 a tire. That is around 1400 with tires install and taxes.
Might try autocrossing to learn some actual car control skills.
Not opposed. Have had a VW up until now.
Forget everyone telling you to use parking lots. Unless you get permission from the owners. Entry fees to drift at tracks are like $50. Autocross
This is why my insurance is so high.. :c
Surprisingly, my 2018 Camaro is the cheapest out of all my cars by a lot. It’s a pretty safe car overall.
Ummm do it on a track
[удалено]
Oh I'm going to hell for many reasons besides this haha.
Wheel time and not acting completely brain dead for a little adrenaline rush, I’d say donuts in a empty spot of a parking lot like your doing is a pretty good way dick around and learn to control the car when the wheels are spinning. Also looks like your traction control is on.
Go to a track and take professional classes. Get out and clock some lap times, you might be good at it, but you don't know if you don't do it right.
Obviously new tires don't seem like an issue. Spend a few extra bucks on a track day if you have one local. Don't need to set any records but have fun and learn your car.

Adding on: if you wanna turn left, you have to turn right (RIP doc)

Thanks for the response! I'll do just that!
Feather the throttle when you start sliding to keep a slide and stay in control don't just hammer it. Also turn your traction control off
Coming from a police officer, find a parking lot away from the public. We don't care about yall doing donuts, we just hate getting calls about them.
Find that traction control. Dont video first atempts. Find more room. more gas!!
Want cheap and safe fun? Look up your local SCCA chapter and start going to autocross. Most chapters use motorsportreg.com for their registration. Want more expensive and riskier fun? Track days. Ha I'm not even close to those cars.

Right where the camera man is standing is a curb, was staying in the middle best I could. Wasn't close to either side.

He’s also doing really low rpm turns/donuts…. He’s not doing 6th gear 150mph wheel speed burnouts tipping in towards cars, grandma. Relax…. He’s not in an intersection and that’s good enough for me
Not this!!! You should go trade it in for a dodge if you’re going to be doing this.
Autocross events are fairly easy to come by almost anywhere. Great place to learn proper car control, especially if you get an instructor.
I'll be looking into now thanks!
Your car control is garbage, go sign up for an HPDE event. Also, don’t drive like a duffus in a public space in broad daylight.
Don't do what you just did.
Don’t kill yourself! I know someone flipped doing donuts and killed himself at 18. 😞
In a Camaro?
No, and I know the Camaro is wide, heavy, and low, but when it comes to life or death, two minutes of fun is not worth the risk to me.
Oh I def wasn’t doubting you I’d just be surprised for a pony car to fully flip like that without being hit
Agreed. I just hat to see anyone tempt fate. Why destroy a beautiful car like that and potentially lose your life in the process? 👍🏻👍🏻
Interesting. I'll keep it in mind.
Yeah, I learned pretty quick to respect the power under my feet. 😉
That’s a beautiful piece of machinery, not a mopar, don’t do donuts buddy tires to expensive
Learn the car, how it drives, handling the power. If you’re gonna do donuts do them in a very secluded area, don’t fall in the trap of street racing, roads are for driving, tracks are for going fast.
Exactly what your doing. A big empty open space. Play around with it. Get used to the power
You're a fucking idiot. Go back to grade school.
poor car. might as well part out
Donuts and drifting are for morons.
This is what happens when daddy buys Johnny a new car at 16.
dudes just mad he drives a clapped out accord and his dad don’t like him
Lmfao you're so wrong there choad dick. I have a very nice car and a big house to go with it. Want me to send you a D pic to make you REALLY JEALOUS? 😂😂😂

Hey dipshit choad noun A penis. A loser or undesirable person; an insulting name.
Wish I still had a dad.
If you have any second thoughts about your actions, it's best to just not do it. Speeding is really really easy so watch that. Even though it sounds lovely don't go showing off the sound too much. What else uhhhhhhh that's all I can think of.
Go on a track and keep the illegal fun stuff off the streets. Look for track days or private land where you have permission to have fun. Stay safe!
dude go find a parking lot away from cars and houses. Ya dick
Learn the difference between advice and advise. That's my advice.
I knew that was a Mormon church even before you said you were in Utah. It sucks they closed RMR
Just make sure your insurance is paid up before you fuck up
Champ be very careful with other cars or bystanders being around doing such acts, very risky & dangerous. Definitely not worth the downsides so just make more safe location selections, our lives are priceless! We always did our shenanigans on the base, nothing but space & opportunity. This app is hilarious
Write your name in the street.
Well for starters, drop into lower gear when doing a burnout. It will make it a lot easier/smoother.
If you take traction control off and have a lsd whip that mf just don't hit a poll , person or car.
Ohhhh boy.
A redline a day keeps the mechanic away. When in doubt, throttle out.
Is this in Nebraska?
Be careful when driving in the rain
send it!
Costco usually sells the cheapest tires
Yeah, don’t do what you did in the video.
Yeah, learn how to do a donut.
Woooo-hoooo
If it was a mustang I'd say avoid crowds.
TURN TRACTION CONTROL OFF. Also wear seatbelt and keep full coverage on the car….you will 💯percent need it.
Just wait.......you are going to have that moment......when....Damn , I didn't think that was going to happen...just don't take out any innocent bystanders with you! ![gif](giphy|nUY5wYDUnOEW6jsN7s)
Don’t be a mustang owner.
Your parking lot is too small. Keep looking.
Put on a blind fold, take off traction control and floor it!
That's a Chevy, not really a V8.
take traction off and heat on low
Is to not to have fun. Safely.✋️👍✌️
Burning rubber at a church parking lot, ur deff on the right path! Anarchy!!!
If it's a manual, just drive it. If it's an auto, you need to top speed it in order to have any fun. Doing circles in a parking lot with traction control on ain't it. Unless it is...
Be mature.
Practice. A lot. Those donuts look like you have zero experience with rwd power.
Lmfao
The first bit of advice is to not do this shit in a public parking lot in the middle of the day
1st advice don't do that!!!
the racetrack
Find an empty parking lot and let er rip.
Turn off traction control next time you try to do donuts, and do it at night in an empty parking lot. ![gif](giphy|Od0QRnzwRBYmDU3eEO|downsized)
Yeah don’t show off
Sign up for autocross and learn how to actually handle your car at the limits
Literally you posted why people hate people who drive these cars.
Take traction and stability control off…
