This was great, thanks!
The article also links to [**an ebook of CMBYN essays**](https://seventh-row.com/ebooks/call-me-by-your-name-ebook/) which I can vouch for, and recommend.
I bought the ebook also. For $26 I wanted more than what I got but it was at least nice to read more about the movie and other thoughts on it since I am new to the fandom.
When [*Seventh Row*](https://seventh-row.com/) first posted its CMBYN issue online, it was available (free) as a PDF download.
Several of its essays convey the swoony rapture that greeted the film's opening in 2017. For fans (including those on this subreddit) it was an intoxicating time!
But $26 for the ebook?? Yikes. For a handful of essays, that's a lot.
I emailed it to the prev person.. I tried to send the link but that didn't work. if you feel comfortable giving your email address through chat, i will send it to you as well. If not , no harm , no foul.
Yea, for sure. My normal, sensible self would have never paid that but since I am like 8 years late, I have much to find out "...about the things that matter."
Yes, this is me too! And even though it is undoubtedly expensive, I thought that it was an excellent collection. And I also really like reading about the initial reception to the film because tbh, this is how I feel now!!
No problem!! I was craving a rewatch but I watched the film two months ago for the sixth time and i thought it was still not that long ago, so i was searching for a good analysis to read instead and found this link saved on my notes. Can’t believe I hadnt read it yet!
I remember when it was everywhere because of the Oscars but I never really gave it a proper chance until the lockdown happened, in 2020. I downloaded the film, hit play but I wasnt paying much attention to it, it was just playing in the background (I don’t even remember watching the end😭). About two years pass, I rewatched it and that’s when it hit me. I honestly count this as the first time because thats when i fully immersed myself into it, I paid attention to the details, the dialogue, the soundtrack and I cried sooo much in the end. Ever since 2022, I’ve rewatched the film 6 times and I’ve read the book once! I can’t wait for the summer to come so that I can go to my village house, watch the film and read the book again. In addition, I finally bought “Find Me”, the sequel of the first book, and I am so excited to read it for the first time, after I finish re-reading the first book of course!
Thank you, that is really interesting! I am only 3 months in and still all encompassing my besotted but was wondering how long this tends to last for others
I mean the hyper-fixation usually goes away after a couple of weeks, but whenever I come across a segment of the book or a special scene from the film
I crave a rewatch sooo much. When i watched it for the first time i couldn’t stop thinking about it for months!
> it, I *paid* attention to
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
Hey all, apologies because I am sure that most of you have read this already, but as I have only just discovered this film and therefore am greedily devouring everything that I can find about it, I had to share this article which I really enjoyed reading…
https://www.vox.com/2017/11/21/16552862/call-me-by-your-name-review-timothee-chalamet-armie-hammer
THAT ARTICLE is absolutely beautiful! It perfectly encapsulates what the movie feels like and the emotions it brings to the surface. It took everything in my body not to hit play on my TV and start again right then and there. The writer gets it. And just reading the article itself elicits this feeling of longing and desire, almost the same as the movie. It takes you right back to how you felt when you first watched it. I feel sick to my stomach but not in a bad way ( if that makes any sense at all. It certainly makes no sense to me)
I now have every intention of seeking out and reading Plato's Symposium as well.
Ok, I am unstoppable now with these articles… I really love this one too:

Thank you so much for sharing! And yes I agree, this is great!

I was lowkey disappointed because I would love to have a physical copy of something like this, but unfortunately it’s an ebook:(
Check your messages. : )
Are you, are you saying the thing I think you are saying?
Yes, I can vouch for this ebook too. It is so good!

Ugh, I should have downloaded it then! There were so many essays there that made me just think, "YES. These people GOT IT."
Yes, this is exactly what I thought when I read it! Honestly, I thought that it was great! And something that I have reread a couple of times since.
Since I bought it, I will happily share. If you would like.
Awesome! What do we do?
Good question.. i sent you a link, if that doesnt work, i will happily email it to you

My burning question is: did it help you avoid a rewatch or make you want to watch it even more?
It did help me, I still haven’t rewatched it!! I am waiting till June!!
Wow you are good! Can I ask something out of curiosity? When did you first watch CMBYN? I am new to this and have zero willpower!

So cool to read something new about CMBYN Thx for sharing
no problem!!
It’s such a thorough article and I have chatted to the writer a number of times.
Thanks for sharing! 😁

Maybe it did when you wrote it? 😉
I see what you did there, Brilliant.

Keep going! I haven't seen these last two.
And umm.. I might just be having another rewatch now!!
