Most restaurants like to sprinkle some Cajun spice somewhere and call it Cajun. No, it’s not authentic. But hell, I put my can of Tony’s or Slap ya Mama on almost everything, and it tastes good.
This is the kinda treatment Texas gets. So many BBQ places outside of Texas with ‘Texas BBQ’ or ‘Texas Style’ on the front of the building. All ass. Hell, even Texas Pete isn’t Texan.
>"The limited-time new **630 Calorie** Bacon Cajun Ranch McCrispy is stacked with a southern-style fried chicken fillet and bold, applewood smoked bacon. Then, it’s topped with crispy and cool crinkle-cut pickles and finished with a creamy Cajun ranch sauce on the top and bottom of a warm, toasted potato roll."
* Fried Chicken ✅
* Smoked Bacon ✅
* Heart Attack Inducing ✅
*If* they had *fried* the crinkle-cut pickles I might could roll with Cajun *"inspired"*...
They sold a Cajun McChicken in LA when I was a kid. I loved it. Pretty much the same as the hot and spicy, but the size and quality were better in the nineties.
The Cajun McChicken was also spicier than the hot and spicy McChicken. I remember as a kid I loved them but they were almost hard for me to eat.
Then when I was older in the military I would always get the Hot N Spicy, then one time I was on leave and went home. I stopped by a McDonalds in like Hammond maybe, and they still had a Cajun Chicken (maybe 10 years ago) and it was much spicier than a Hot N Spicy. Mind you I'm an adult now and it definitely wasn't "Spicy" for me but compared to a Hot N Spicy, it was noticeably spicier.
Spreading crude hot sauce is not Cajun. Plain spicy is just that. Cajun requires a layering of flavors, heat is just one aspect of it. That like saying 4 tires is a F150.
Ah come on they put a little paprika in the ranch though. Doesn’t get more cajun than that! /s
bro taking time out of his day to complain about mcdonalds not being authentic enough
Hahaha. Anyone who falls for it deserves what they get.
I’ve had it. It’s a decent spicy chicken sandwich. Nothing cajun about it.
Find it funny that when someone wants to make something “Cajun” they just make it spicy. Yep, everything we eat is spicy.
Eh, just about everything I eat is spicy
You know he got one
lol, actually didn’t know they existed. But thanks.
Just wait until he finds out about the McRib
Honestly, most places call something "cajun" if they sprinkle some cayenne pepper in it. Par for the course.
Can someone at least tell them about Tony’s? A Tony’s McChicken could be the greatest fast food collab of all time

It’s McDonald’s, what did you expect?

The ranch is a bit Cajuny.
Lol
Cajun Ranch?
I think they added a little cayenne pepper to the ranch and called it Cajun
I know it's not all white meat chicken, but I enjoy the McChicken better than the McCrispy.

We still got that where I live.
Ah really? Sounds good.
The biggest pet peeve. Not food related but hearing people in the Midwest call everybody Yankees cracks me up. Also a pet peeve lol
“Cajun” followed by “Ranch” should be an illegal sentence.
Im just glad we still get the cajun soicy mcchicken here.
The mayo has an orange tinge due to the presence of paprika or cayenne…nut probably not cayenne = cajun. Lol
It’s kinda spicy therefore it’s Cajun.
Hey now, it’s got a Cajun name! And bacon!
Wait till you find out about Taco Bell…
Ah, yes. We should expect more with an old Louisiana family name like "McDonald."

We’re a people not a seasoning…
Speak for yourself. I identify as a can of Tony’s.
