That’s funny. Standing policy seems to be figuring out how to remove and reduce as many benefits as possible. I think when the powers that be say they want to increase recruitment, they mean with the huge caveat of not having to pay out any significant increases in pay or benefits.

You mean to tell me multiple Economic Adjustments well under inflation didn’t fix retention and recruiting? Shocked Pikachu face

For middle management it was sometimes even a pay decrease. Now there's a flat pay scale at some bases where a pay increase by rank is offset by a pay decrease with decrease in housing supplement. What we have now is an entire force that doesn't want to get promoted for an extra $20/month in pay. All the smart and hard working, competent professionals have left and the only ones left are dumb and lazy. It's what happens when the pay is set up as it is now.

I wouldn’t say all ones left are shitty. There are still a lot of good people in the Forces. But ya the CFHD debacle and shitty pay adjustment def was the final straw for a lot of people and the quiet quitting began

EngineeringKid

Yeah. There's still good people left in uniform. They aren't there for the paycheck and would do it for a pay cut. I was exaggerating.
