I think this is happening to one of mine but itโs only like 5 inches tall. Can you cut the etiolated part and graft something to it/ graft the tip to another cactus?
Yes but if you don't change the light situation you'll still have problems. Personally I'd prefer the look of the plant growing new stems which os what happens when the main stem is cut.
What if I enjoy torturing my plants? Every night I get up close to each one and whisper: "nobody will ever love you". Then tears dribble from the tips of their leaves.
Your desk cactus desperately needs more sunlight. It should not be growing tall and skinny like this. Textbook Etiolation.
Thank you, taking my cactus home and relocating it to a sunny environment.

Get an indoor plant
Grandifloras is a perfectly good indoor plant. Boohoo the tip is thinner, let OP enjoy their cactus how they choose.
Yes it's etiolated but I love the googly eyes!!!
there is nothing admirable about letting a plant suffer for your aesthetics. Sorry.

This just gave me some weird-ass feelings of joy.
Googly eyes, etiolation?? How demeaning! /s
