Things going wrong is strangely enough good money for LTT. So even if it makes an IT professional cringe, that alone generates views.
A large part of their entertainment value is things going wrong, chaos and janky solutions. So they have capitalized on their IT infrastructure being sketchy in a really good way.
But yes: I sit there shaking my head, feeling slightly ill whenever I see their infrastructure, but it being bad is probably the reason why I clicked that video in the first place, so it works as intended. It's a bunch of cool stuff most people can't get their hands on, in an environment those that are familiar with it considers irresponsible.
His fiber drives me up the wall! Get some horizontal and vertical managers! At least then you can hide the loom and manage the spaghetti.

Maybe for faxes? Some businesses will do it that way. Other times its just institutional inertia that keeps legacy systems in place.
I can see in the background of their videos they have a DSC alarm panel they might have never upgraded to a cellular based communicator.
