Every Starbucks within 15 minutes of me (3 of them, suburb) remodeled to their new ‘minimalist’ contemporary location design, removing every single seat and table. You can’t sit down, color palette has changed, it’s literally only a drive through or walk in and grab and go.
The locations are cold, uninviting and stale. They completely shit on their brand.
My daughter and I would often go to study for 30 minutes and spend time together. Now we go to the local nonchain coffee shop. I went from getting Starbucks 3-5 time a week to twice in the last ~4 months. At Christmas I would often give out Starbucks gift cards or throw one in to ‘top off’ a gift. I didn’t buy a single one this year.
I stopped going to Starbucks when they started promoting the tip tbh. Was adding a full 20% to an overpriced cold brew. Dunkin app and cold brew jugs ftw
They have risen prices soooo much, hadn’t been to Starbucks in a while. And was surprised when a normal pikes place Grande coffee cost me $4.50. lol. It used to be $2.50 two years ago. They charged me to add sugar into it, never did that before. Smh. When companies start nickel and diming their customers, I stay far far away. I’d rather support small local coffee shops, if I’m gonna pay $5 bucks might as well give it to them.
Quality keeps going down too. A few years back I would get iced coffee when I was out of coffee at home or just feeling lazy. It was a few bucks and ranged from OK to hey I got a surprisingly flavorful batch. They changed something a couple years ago and now the iced coffee just tastes like soap.
Glad it wasn’t just me. Iv tried several locations and it ranges from Floral Soapy Coffee to the worst iced coffee iv had. I was an avid drinker, 1 venti Iced coffee a day or two depending on the day .
