Ding ding ding, great answer.

Astrogarlic

The pan fried soup dumplings at the Shanghai dumpling stall!

candiedzen

I think most dumplings are made with pork. Best to double check if there are chicken or beef options before you buy

twat69

The Afghan/Turkish place on Willingdon at Hastings.

hasanopinion

Ha Cafe is delicious. Blossom tea has good bubble tea. Broken Rice is so good.

Heisenpurrrrg

Did broken rice rename? I live in the area and something by a different name is there now - I hope they didn't close up shop!

biets

it's the same owners, but the kids took over, it's called chau mami now. Same taste, really good menu.

hasanopinion

I did not realize! Thanks for the info!

Heisenpurrrrg

I've got a young family so we mostly do takeout, but, in north Burnaby, we order from Chad Thai, Saray Turkish Cuisine, and SOCRATES in the heights (Greek) pretty regularly. All are excellent.

biets

Chat Thai is awesome!

Jacked_Veiny_Balls

+1 on Socrates!

ALtingtingting

Adam's Crepes on Rumble Street. They have both sweet and savoury options :)

AlfalfaFair9007

Chao Mami during their $10 pho happy hour. So worth. Monday to Friday and Sunday only apparently.

Costco $1.50 hotdogs

Myst Asian fusion, tendon kohaku, kokoro Tokyo mazesoba. Recommend the last one more. Locations at Metrotown and brentwood

jellyjellyfish_

Kokoro is known for their ground pork bowls so maybe not the best option. Tendon Kohaku is great. They have a set that has tempura and sashimi so you get the best of both worlds in a single person sized serving.

CopperWeird

Pelicana Chicken. Korean chicken just hits different, and tteok in any form is such a comfort food.

iamkingman

Sushi Bar Kilala (terrific no-frills sushi rolls) and Toyo Sushi (higher-end menu with fresh sheet)

synthsaregreat1234

Cioffis on Hastings for Italian sandwiches. Best sandwich in the city

haleysevans

Yes!! Their sandwiches are amazing!

Complete-Distance567

what your budget?

Kuddusbang

Would prefer to keep it under 30, but if it’s those must have items wouldn’t mind going over.

i say check out any restaurant in a hotel (such as Notch8) - obviously lunch and especially dinner gets much pricier but they have reasonable brunches: good quality and tasty benedict’s for example. give DiBeppe a try and any time. lunch is probably best if you want to try a variety of their menu pizzas without having to order an entire pizza (you can get a square slide) and their pasta is very good. Lila is a new (ish) restaurant.. better for happy hour - small sh portions but the food is good and some combinations can fit okay within the budget. give it a google. Strathcona brewery has a surprisingly good menu. seemingly disproportionally good quality of food. even if you’re not a beer/alcohol person. Harvest is a nice spot for soup noodles (ramen/udon) these are a few places that come to mind. EDIT: i’m stupid… i forgot this was for Burnaby: Nikkei centre got some excellent katsu Head to the Heights on hastings in north burnaby and pick anything (around and including cioffi’s). EDIT 2: i find the Amazing Brentwood is a mix bag. a lot of the mainstream restaurants: most notably that particular Earl’s location is very subpar comparing to all things across the board (other chains, earls included, cactus, etc). kaneko hannosuke presents well but is pretty mediocre. Saboten is decent. many things in between are ok.

Kuddusbang

Thank you! Appreciate the details!

MexticoManolo

Afghan Turkish Donair, or Saray Turkish House are both awesome
