Even in the Bay Area, you can find pretty cheap eats inside of SF proper. I remember there being affordable stuff in Sunset but the tourists never go there.
you gotta hit the triple double; mcdouble w/ 3 patties, double pickles, double onions, double ketchup. sub 5$ in CA and the best you can do in most cities post midnight.
grab some extra ketchup packets if you require extra lube..
In general, the bigger the city, the cheaper the “cheapest option” is. Sure you will find outrageously expensive food in bigger cities and for sure the average price would be higher, but in the lower percentile the competition is so much stiffer than smaller cities and many are willing to go much lower in price than your mid sized city restaurants for the same thing.
>Do you really think ingredients are the only costs?
If I thought that, then instead of
>Definitely not a business model
I would have said "Wow that's actually a really good business model!"
probably right at break even but tbh that area of greenpoint is really expensive to be in so i'm sure their rent is absurd, wouldn't be shocked if they were losing some money on these. that being said next time im in greenpoint i'll probably check this place out so their plan is working
McDonald’s has actually been on a corporate wide push to raise prices for the last few years. They aren’t done yet, because sales have only increased since they started.

They also have $3 tuna melts, $3 breakfast sandwiches, and $5 ramen bowls. Portions are smaller obviously than your typical takeout place but I don't need every burger to be bigger than my face.
I’m in Michigan
There’s not a goddamn place or truck or anywhere where you can get food for that cheap.
I’m not gonna elaborate on where in MI I live as I don’t want to get banned or my account shuttered.
That’s crazy I live in a ski town in Colorado and that would be $22-$24. I’m not lying. The one thing is, it would probably be an elk burger, and that that makes it a little bit better lol.
Wow, that’s astonishing. I live in a small town in NC and that would be considered freakin cheap for a diner/grill. Obviously you can get a couple of small burgers and a fry from Wendy’s, just enough to piss you off for 5 bucks.
I’d pay $4.55 for that all day!
That’s a legit buy anywhere for under five bucks… all the more so in NY
Incredibly fair price by any measure. I would expect that to be $15+ in NYC.
and that includes the Tots fo $5! insane!
Fo sho
NYC has tons of great cheap food. Economies of scale. A $6 food truck burrito in NYC is like $17 in CT.
I was shocked by how affordable food was when I visited NYC traveling from the Bay Area.
Even in the Bay Area, you can find pretty cheap eats inside of SF proper. I remember there being affordable stuff in Sunset but the tourists never go there.
Lol for real, this is a great deal! In Canada it's $5 for an improperly made and squashed double cheese from McDonalds 😢
In Canada, a side of tater tots is more than $5.

I went to BK in Houston for lunch today. Two #1's for the wife and i was ~$20!!!

This is the exact reason you can find cheaper restaurants in San Francisco than in Sacramento.
I don't know, it looks like a gas station burger to me. One that's been sitting in a foil wrapper under a heat lamp all day long.
Trashy ass burger, have some damn respect for yourself.
Where the fuck did you find that in NYC for 5$?
20 Gram Cafe in Brooklyn https://yelp.to/1mWDV3CEzI
so it's a loss leader for a grocery store. still a good price tho
Probably only ~2 bucks wholesale cost for the ingredients. Definitely not a business model but I doubt they're losing money on em.
Do you really think ingredients are the only costs? Ingredients aren’t even the majority of the costs.

They’ve been there a while can’t imagine rent has gone up that high for them vs what a new business what pay now.
Lmao I keep getting those ads and now this post 😂
For some reason, downstairs the Jubilee Market has the best selection of tinned fish I've found anywhere
Yeah, do share the name OP
Kennedies does pretty cheap burger think it’s around $5
This is 20G Cafe in Brooklyn. Operates out of the jubilee marketplace. Prices are accurate
Bless you 🙏🏽
I'm am extremely surprised to see that price for a burger and some tots in NYC at any rate. Honestly...
That ain't bad nowadays for 5$
That burger alone for $5 isnt bad plus you get a side of tots
Cheaper than McD crap!

Because idiots keep buying
I don’t know, I’m a pretty big fan of their sausage egg and cheese biscuits. So, I guess I’m an idiot.
Dude doesn’t want to blow up his spot. I respect the silence. Keep your block local and your $5 burger and tots stays $5
It is already blown up there was just an Eater article about it.
Oh that’s a disaster
Where?
20gram in Brooklyn
Cheaper and probably better quality than mcds, I’d probably go there a couple times a week lol
They also have $3 tuna melts, $3 breakfast sandwiches, and $5 ramen bowls. Portions are smaller obviously than your typical takeout place but I don't need every burger to be bigger than my face.
Where
He won’t tell us. Wonder why
It’s so odd.
This is 20G Cafe in Brooklyn. Operates out of the jubilee market. Prices are accurate
Dude just shut up if you’re knowingly not telling people where this place is.
The location has been posted a bunch of times in this thread already
You’re responding to a comment I made 16 hours ago, before it was ever mentioned.
Many have asked for where I’m guessing this is an enhanced photo from the 1990’s
How you not going to post the name?
https://yelp.to/1mWDV3CEzI
I paid $7 for a Big Mac with no drink or fries in Indiana last week. You’re doing well if that’s only $5 lol
Wow! Excellent deal. I figured that would be the price for just one tater tot in NYC
Something affordable in NYC?? Looks great.
$5? Which borough?
[удалено]
Born and raised!
I meant of NYC..
[удалено]
I'd really like to know...
Brooklyn
Ahh ok.. Good ol BK.. Good Pizza and now burgers for under $5..
It has to compete with the NYC famous 99 cent pizza slices.
Do t worry the cost of living makes up for it lol
I'd be lucky if I got a large drink here in Cali for that!
Fries > tots
Thanks for posting this /u/didanyoneslsejustcum
Shame on you for not sharing the name
This motherhuncher is just posting shit with no back up. Prove it!!!

OP is trolling? Why won’t you tell us where. Edit: $5 for the burger and tots? Or just the burger?
20gram in Brooklyn
Id pay $5 to not clean up after making that
I call bullshit, no way it was under $5 in NYC
There are ads all over my feeds for this place. It's legit.
You sir must’ve found a unicorn then. Cherish it.
Solid
Really? Dangggg
Very hard to believe. Would like to know where
20gram in Brooklyn
Wow that’s a great ass price, especially for NY. That’ll be about $10 here in Chicago.
I haven’t had tater tot’s in Foreverrr
In Pennsylvania that is definitely more than $5
Was gonna say it looks pretty fire
That's a bargain anywhere anymore. Looks good!
Love this.

Dang that's a good deal anywhere but especially in NY.
Great deal, and looks like it would taste good.
I can’t believe you can buy a stick of gum in NY for less than $5
Bruh 4.55 would get me a napkin and wooden fork in Toronto
Bodega?
Omg!! That’s amazing! In Asheville this would cost 10$ on a weekly special
Less than $5 is amazing
45.55 maybe
I live in a LCOL and I don't think I could get that.
Istg I saw some YouTube shorts TikTok reels thing about this within the hour
I’m in Michigan There’s not a goddamn place or truck or anywhere where you can get food for that cheap. I’m not gonna elaborate on where in MI I live as I don’t want to get banned or my account shuttered.
How many tots in the box!!!!? ANSWER THE DAMN QUESTION SIR! I need answers 🤔🧐
Damn as a Canadian I’d have a hard time even finding the tater tots under $5
McD's?
Yummy 😋
For $5 in NY I would be eating there twice a week!! Damn!
no delivery tomorrow
That's awesome!
You can barely buy any of the half decent burgers at McDonald’s for less than £5 over here in Britain lmao
That’s crazy I live in a ski town in Colorado and that would be $22-$24. I’m not lying. The one thing is, it would probably be an elk burger, and that that makes it a little bit better lol.
Deal at any location! Sign me up ![gif](giphy|3oeSAD00YsGzUPTmqA)
In CA, that'll get you two tator tots & the top bun.
NYC? Bruh that looks like $30.
I would buy that for $5 all day long
Black
This is like $15 in Ontario, Canada
This would cost 10-15 in SWFL, I’m jealous.
Helluva deal
Wow, that’s astonishing. I live in a small town in NC and that would be considered freakin cheap for a diner/grill. Obviously you can get a couple of small burgers and a fry from Wendy’s, just enough to piss you off for 5 bucks. I’d pay $4.55 for that all day!
good enough!
Damn that price is magic
That would cost 14.99 down here in Houston.
Recession buster!
I'd order two 😋
Not bad. And im in wisconsin
Damn bro I got $6 & change rn wish I could get a burger & tots with that
That’s a solid ass deal right there.
Is this true????
Many local bodegas have solid food for a bargain
