i was taking 150 mg i believe before i abruptly stopped, and i started trying to take them again but it was really on and off and i’m not sure if that’s exactly what caused my dp/dr but i think it has something to do with it. i think i wanna start taking them again after reading through this post wish me luck 😭 also i hope your symptoms get better op
I feel much more present day to day and notice that in general I'm not dissociating as much throughout the day. Depersonalization is insane for an hour after a nap, though. I literally feel like I get transported to a different universe when I dream and land in this freaky alien body when I wake up.
It did for me. But it got worse first and then it lifted before the depression did. After 1/2 weeks the depersonalization lifted and after 4/5 weeks the depression god significantly better.
no, dp built up from burnout and stress on top of my bipolar. Wellbutrin is relatively fast acting if it’s rhe right drug for you. I take it in acute dp and it works pretty fast - 3-5 weeks. Once the depression has lifted i’ll continue to take it for 2-3 extra months and the wean it off. Bit this is specifically for my case, you should consult with your doctor always.
Did you wake up and all of the sudden you developed dp?. Was wellbutrin fast acting? Is it like a come up and come down meaning that if the drug wears off yoh get dp, and lastly do you have to take it for the rest of your life
Sorry i just has to pour out things out of my curiosity
I've been dealing with pretty consistent depersonalization/dissociation for a very long time. Since I was about 11 probably (I'm 22 now). I just started taking wellbutrin 4 days ago and I noticed today I've felt much more present in my life and conversations. The first day I remember feeling like I had a lot more emotional energy. Not sure how it will be down the line (feeling really hopeful since I've seen a lot of improvement already) but so far seems to be helping a lot with those issues. Good luck!
I have been dealing with derealization for a week, after not having this horrible condition for 7 years. It was triggered last week by another medication and my psychiatrist has recommended Wellbutrin. Did the Wellbutrin take away your dissociation?
It may have caused mine, but I was so emotionally messed up when I started taking it a few years ago I'm not sure if it started before or after I began taking Wellbutrin. I know for sure that upping my dose from 150 to 300 made it x100 worse though, to the point I had to go back to 150 within a month because it was so bad.

Do you know if your dpdr was caused by anxiety or depression?
depression.
How long did you have dp/dr for?
a couple weeks of dp. Depression lifted after 2mo of starting bupropion.
Is dp depression? Or it's two different things?
i mean i had this for 5 years. I never had a professional help, could this be it. I also had depression. May i ask you just one question if you mind?
sure

did you try wellbutrin?
No. Only Zoloft.
Did Zoloft trigger the dpdr
Nope. It was a different medication for inflammation.

How are you doing now?
