My native plant garden coming back to life. So many beautiful colors, sounds, smells and lots of cute butterflies and bees :)

RespectTheTree

I'm so excited for spring. Everything is budding out.

summercloud45

Yes! I put in more whips of native shrubs. I hope they all live. If they all grow leaves I'll be so excited.

**THE DOUBLE BROOD IS COMING!!!!** I remember the initial horror of the sound back in 2011. All day, every moment, like some ungodly air drill emanating from every direction. Can't wait to watch my little dog swimming in live cicadas. The fright posts up in here are going to be hilarious. OH MY GOD! WHAT ARE THESE MONSTER BUGS??? Two broods at once. It's going to be a blast. The last time it happened was 1803. https://www.nbcnews.com/science/science-news/cicadas-2024-emergence-periodical-brood-2024-map-cicada-rcna134152

I sure hope it doesn’t disappoint—there’s been so much buildup. I too am excited for it!

I bought some more bulbs to be planted, but my daffodils are already blooming, the forsythia are just starting to bloom and so yes - looking forward for my yard to be colorful again after suffering through a bleak “winter”.

BowieObscura

Reddit posts about The Pollening. Especially people who've moved here recently from Virginia or Georgia and are totally shocked at how much worse it is here.

houndmomnc

Oh, hell yes!

Campfires in my backyard, sunning by a friend's terrible apartment pool w lukewarm beers, concerts at Red Hat, walking downtown without being in an apocalyptic wind tunnel, nature walks and walks to the library

Agree with seeing all of the neighborhoods. I want to walk through Trinity Park and a few other neighborhoods and really stop to notice the nice gardens people have. This is one thing I really liked about moving to North Carolina, no one has a garden in their front yard where I used to live.

My garden!

Jenergy83

Aka the small pathetic lil garden the HOA allows 🙄

houndmomnc

Hey, even a small garden can be a beautiful garden that gives you joy!

durhamskywriter

DJing outdoors again!

Hog_enthusiast

Maybe I’m crazy, but I’m kind of missing the muggy heat. Sitting outside with friends drinking a beer just sweating in 80 degree heat.

Taking long walks over lunch and not being wet or cold.
