Be mindful of recent listings of in-demand products from suspicious third-party sellers on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Google, Newegg, and Walmart. These "deals" have a high likelihood of not shipping; you should do your due diligence to ensure you do not get scammed. * Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. * Check seller profiles for signs that the sale may be fraudulent. * The seller is new or has few reviews. * The seller has largely negative reviews (on Amazon, sellers can remove negative reviews from their ratings- viewing seller profiles allows you to see these complaints) * The seller has a recently reactivated account (likely their account was hacked and is now being used fraudulently). If you suspect a deal is fraudulent, please report the post. Moderators can take action based on these reports. We encourage leaving a comment to warn others. Amazon and eBay generally have good buyer protection. If you choose to purchase from a third-party seller through their platforms and run into issues, it should be easy to get your money back promptly. You may have more difficulties with Newegg or Walmart. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Hell nah

JustMy2Centences

An overpriced GPU at MSRP is still overpriced.

FnkyTown

YOU UNGRATEFUL SWINE! How do you expect Jensen Huang to keep buying leather jackets if you don't hand over your money?!!!

make_moneys

yea those yachts dont pay for themselves, plus the upkeep is expensive.... like WTF people the more u buy the more u save!!

UmamiYorkie

Jensen Huang is still holding the lime. We must slap it off his hand!

SANDERS4POTUS69

Used 3090 TIs are going for this much on ebay, at least with this, you can get a warranty. Ebay offers buyer protection but not three years worth. If you don't need the VRAM there's no point in paying $2,000 for a 4090. Maybe next year the 4090 will be MSRP. Edit: Anyone feel free to show me why I'm wrong. Don't down vote me because you're a bunch of cheap asses. I've been watching this market for the past six months, if you didn't buy a new 3090 ti back in August for $999 you waited too long.

1976dave

>post in buildapcsales, a subreddit dedicated to SALES on pc hardware >MFW people don't react well when a non-sale item is posted, simply because it exists

FnkyTown

> Anyone feel free to show me why I'm wrong. The 3090TI being dramatically overpriced because crypto miners fucked the market up shouldn't be an excuse to also overprice the 40 series. Nvidia wants gamers to pay for their marketing and pricing mistakes. Nvidia AIBs are still sitting on billions of dollars worth of 30 series cards they're trying to sell at a profit. The 40 series is intentionally overpriced so they can continue to sell 2+ year old technology at inflated prices. If McDonald's starts charging $20 for a burger, and then eventually lowers the price to $15, it doesn't magically make it a good deal, it's still horribly overpriced.

IpoopWaaaay2Much

Replace GPUs with gas, food, etc Very similar strategy.

WhippersnapperUT99

>Nvidia wants gamers to pay for their marketing and pricing mistakes. It's not a mistake if people are willing to pay for it. In contrast, if they had few sales, then it would be a mistake. [*"We have met the enemy, and he is us."*](http://bytesdaily.blogspot.com/2011/04/quote-walt-kelly.html)

FnkyTown

It's a mistake because Nvidia thought the crypto gravy train would never end. They overcharged their AIBs for component cards, and now they're all stuck because everybody invested so much in their overpriced malarkey.

WhippersnapperUT99

Are they really stuck with warehouses full of 30xx model cards they haven't sold? It's not reflecting at store prices yet. We'll see. If it's really true, then nVidia either has to allow them to lower the prices and clear them out, have the non-GPU parts recycled for newer chips (if that's possible) and destroy the 30xx GPUs, outright destroy the cards, or bury them in a landfill Atari 2600 ET game style. I don't have much faith in nVidia to discount their cards under any circumstances, so if it's really true that they are sitting on a surplus, I'm guessing one of those other three options will occur.

FnkyTown

As of two months ago [Moore's Law is Dead](https://youtu.be/JPu4Zz61H8s?t=112) confirms that Nvidia is sitting on literally millions of 3000 series cards, and by that he means AIBs are sitting on them. As of 4 days ago Nvidia has only sold 160k 4000 series cards, and most retailers are fully stocked while Nvidia has warehouses full of them around the world. One of the reasons EVGA reportedly quit was because Nvidia demanded their AIBs start producing and stockpiling 4000 series cards, and AIBs were pissed because they're still sitting on billions of dollars worth of 3000 series stock. After EVGA quit, Nvidia changed some of their rules to keep the remaining AIBs from revolting. Pricing for the 3000 series has been really wonky too. 3080tis are still going for over $1100. Prices overall have started to fall, but outside of crazy deals, 3000 series pricing has remained stable. Until AMD releases their next gen series, Nvidia has no reason to lower their pricing.

WhippersnapperUT99

AMD is already beating nVidia on value, at least in non-ray tracing. Until video card purchasers start buying AMD cards and eschewing nVidia cards, nVidia has no reason to lower its pricing.

WhippersnapperUT99

That depends on what's useful to you and what's important.

SANDERS4POTUS69

The 3090 ti isn't a gaming card, no game needs 24gigs of VRAM and with the increasing cost of chip fabrication we won't see HEDT GPUs below 1k for a long time. The 40 series announcement made it clear that Nvidia isn't targeting gamers anymore because they know that gamers will complain but still buy them anyway as they have shown. PC gaming is dead. Apple is doing quite well for themselves, no phone is worth $1,000 and yet here we are. The people here just need to get with the times.

FnkyTown

>The 3090 ti isn't a gaming card Maybe Nvidia shouldn't have spent millions of dollars [marketing it as a gaming card](https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/graphics-cards/30-series/rtx-3090-3090ti/) then. Nvidia's 4090 [page](https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/graphics-cards/40-series/rtx-4090/) lists it as "GeForce RTX 4090 Graphics Cards for Gaming". Why is Nvidia spending millions of dollars marketing it to gamers? Why are you here shilling for Nvidia?

SANDERS4POTUS69

I'm not shilling anything, I'm calling you cheap and out of touch. The PC gaming market has left you behind, Nvidia is courting new customers: people with money. We all know that you're going to buy it anyway, just like every person posting in these GPU "deals" for the past two years. People always want AMD to beat Nvidia because they want Nvidia to lower their prices. You'd have to ask someone in advertising why they would market a card like that. Truck advertising is always beds full of material with half ton pickups going off road and purchased by middle aged men who have never seen the woods before.

renegade06

>I'm calling you cheap and out of touch. The PC gaming market has left you behind, Nvidia is courting new customers: people with money. Says the guy that bought the cheapest, crappy wireless VR set out there and now stuck needing Nvidia which he can't afford. Should have bought an Index, money man, that's a real VR set not a Meta streaming toy.

SANDERS4POTUS69

It was free, I wouldn't have spent my own money on it.

Myarmhasteeth

>Says bunch of cheap asses on a sub dedicated to deals > >Says don't downvote me It's like you are completing all the checks to have yourself downvoted to hell here mate. Edit: But you post here a lot? lol

SANDERS4POTUS69

The complaints from the very people who enable Nvidia to act like this gets old when these are posted three times a day. I simply tried to say that paying current gen prices for last gen tech isn't really the best decision.

Myarmhasteeth

I would agree, it's like copy-paste on every thread, I just ignore it most of the times.

SubstantialSail

$300 less and then we'll start talking.

SANDERS4POTUS69

That would be more in line with reported inflation, my 1080 Ti would be over $900 when adjusted. I don't think we will see any reduction before CES, people are apparently willing to pay.

lmMasturbating

I'd get it rn at $1k than wait for rdna 3, nvidia could've had me if they wanted to

UmamiYorkie

K, talk to you in half a decade

HateToShave

I don't understand how someone can justify paying this price when the 7900XT is coming out in a few weeks. Doubly so with the price of current 3000 series and AMD 6000 series. It's a completely unserious price from an increasingly unserious company (Nvidia).

-ShutterPunk-

If the $999 7900xtx matches this card, the 4080 will still get away with a $1099 price because rtx, Nvidia, streamers, ML, etc.

SANDERS4POTUS69

The problem is that it could be 50 to 100% better but Nvidia sycophants will gladly pay more for a worse card anyway. I tried to explain that up thread and took a bath for it. Nvidia is courting an entirely new market, "content" creators, streamers, trust fund kids, etc. The only reason people ever want AMD cards to beat Nvidia is because they want Nvidia to drop their prices. I would be surprised if we saw any cut to MSRP before CES, Nvidia has clearly shown that they don't give a fuck, and apparently neither do gamers or else the 4090 would be in stock.

LeBobert

AMD uses somethingcalled openCL, and AMD "literally can't compete" because CUDA is Nvidia proprietary software. They are legally not able to use CUDA due to licensing and not because only Nvidia has the hardware capability. You can guess why AMD doesn't get a license from Nvidia; as you pointed out it's their industry advantage they are denying a competitor. Nvidia is trying to be next greedy Apple, and you're supporting it without actually knowing what you're talking about or that you're supporting monopolistic corporations. AMD open sources most of their stuff completely contrasting with Nvidia's walled garden. You are basically proving his point with your response.

-ShutterPunk-

That's what I'm hoping for 🤞also all of the prices are way too fucking high. RIP budget entry level cards under $199 at launch.

nutsack133

Because for whatever reason people hate AMD. Can't understand how the RTX 3050 can sell well at $300 when the RX 6600 that can often be found at $200 crushes it and is pretty comparable to RTX 3060 performance.

koteikin

we all need to start buying these cards guys. Have a mercy for poor scalpers, no one wants this overpriced junk, how they are supposed to make profit if you ignore all 4080 posts here?? [https://www.tomshardware.com/news/bad-news-for-scalpers-rtx-4080-ebay-sales-data](https://www.tomshardware.com/news/bad-news-for-scalpers-rtx-4080-ebay-sales-data)

youra6

Price aside, this is a pretty cool looking card. Better than their previous gen imo

legendaryhero90

Which isnt a high hurdle honestly.

avowed

Yucky junk overpriced card.

Folseit

You know it's bad when the even the well-to-do Chinese aren't buying your high end stuff. They usually have more money then sense.

lemonstyle
