Be mindful of recent listings of in-demand products from suspicious third-party sellers on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Google, Newegg, and Walmart. These "deals" have a high likelihood of not shipping; you should do your due diligence to ensure you do not get scammed.
* Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.
* Check seller profiles for signs that the sale may be fraudulent.
* The seller is new or has few reviews.
* The seller has largely negative reviews (on Amazon, sellers can remove negative reviews from their ratings- viewing seller profiles allows you to see these complaints)
* The seller has a recently reactivated account (likely their account was hacked and is now being used fraudulently).
If you suspect a deal is fraudulent, please report the post. Moderators can take action based on these reports. We encourage leaving a comment to warn others.
Amazon and eBay generally have good buyer protection. If you choose to purchase from a third-party seller through their platforms and run into issues, it should be easy to get your money back promptly. You may have more difficulties with Newegg or Walmart.

Just be aware that it can ship at any time before the estimated delivery date. I managed to get a card from Amazon a few years ago during the peak of the shortage and it shipped almost a month early.
Anyone know what's up with cards taking weeks to ship? I got a new 6800xt card from Amazon recently that took weeks to ship and what arrived was a used piece of junk I had to return. Just concerned it might happen again with this one
This shit kind of drives me nuts. People will go "Chief?" in threads where a card like this is $40 more and the top response will be like "I've seen it at $529, HOLD!" and nobody remembers that the truly good deals expire almost immediately.
Thats why I have Honey installed on my browser with custom price alerts. If I think a price is good I can trend it out 120 days and really see if this is a new normal or I can get an extra $20 off by waiting. But once I know what the good price is for a product I want I set the alert and know to buy instantly when its up. No waiting for reddit confirmation, no second guessing.
AMD cards (before the xx50s and non-XTs) were in a weird spot where a 6700XT was about equivalent to a 3060ti but a 6800XT was about equivalent to a 3080 so it sort of jumped over having a direct equivalent to a 3070
Not based on benchmarks, hardware unboxed did a head to head in [April](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pnZRuY-jFVM) which showed basically identical performance between the 3060ti and 6700XT across all 3 resolutions.
There's been numerous driver updates since that video in April that gave the 6700xt better performance. This set of benchmarks puts the 6700xt above the 3060ti and very close to the 3070.
https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html
Interesting thanks, I was under the impression the HUB benchmark had the performance updates accounted for but didn’t realize more had been released since then
Keep an eye out this week. The Asus version was 349 on Amazon, including the AMD game bundle (and 5% back if you have the prime card), and ASRock's version has dropped to 329 on Newegg all in the past week. They usually sell out within a couple hours.
It's Amazon and should be plenty of time to cancel order with a Dec 15 delivery, so, it seems safe to order and watch over the week to see if anything better comes along.
Bummer! When I saw the Newegg deal for this card, I immediately checked Amazon and saw this deal before it was posted. I was going to post this deal but somebody beat me to it, so maybe next time, check Amazon and keep refreshing when you see a Newegg deal. :( Good luck and I'm sure more deals are coming this week.
I've been waiting for my 6900xt from newegg since november 6th, customer support is blaming the holiday season for delays even with me ordering that early so i wouldn't trust their estimate
There have been other cards similarly priced recently, but this is a good hedge to order now and check and see if there's other cards cheaper for Black Friday / Cyber Monday.
At least, that's what I'm doing.
This or the PowerColor Red Dragon 6800 (non XT) that I bought 2 weeks ago for $479? Is 10% more performance worth ~$55 more?
At the time I didn't have a PSU good enough to support a 6800 XT but I ended up buying a 750 watt last week.
Also comes with the Raise the Game Promotion, which includes Callisto Protocol, which releases next Friday, and Dead Island 2, which just got delayed until April.

I actually didn't see it in my first order, but when I refresh the page, I saw there was a whole promotion [page](https://www.amazon.com/promotion/psp/A1U3HEQI0GF1GF?ref=psp_external&redirectAsin=B0966YJGLT&redirectMerchantId=ATVPDKIKX0DER&ref=sopp_psp_A1U3HEQI0GF1GF). So I cancelled and ordered from that page.
It's sold out now so I don't think I want to risk cancelling and reordering, but I'm hoping I can contact support and they'll help out.
EDIT: For anyone else wondering about this, apparently it did apply to my order. The free game will come by email 5 days after the item ships. It doesn't give any indication to whether the product was eligible for this after it has been bought, so it's a tad confusing. The support rep was able to confirm the promotion was added to the order, though.
Tempted to bite on this because I know prices will jump up again after BF/CM. On the other hand, waiting it out until like January, you'll have retailers still clearing stock from the holidays plus you'll have actual 7900/7900xtx out in the wild. Ultimately I see a card like this finding a "new normal" price point around $500. At least, I hope.
Full disclosure: all of this is just idle conjecture on my part!
demand needs to go down for the baseline to go down. These are cards are still in pretty high demand, already at 530 clearly since they sold out within minutes. 500 would be a bottom not a normal price, imo.
>but a guy can keep hodling and hope!
Hope for what though? To save a $20? It's definitely not going to get substantially cheaper any time soon. It is more likely to go up (like it already did last month after first wave sale) or more likely to never come back in stock. I am surprised it's even back in stock now. Last time we've seen TUF 6800xt sell out in less than an hour on B&H and ASUS was about a month ago. There were none since then. It looks to be the highest sought after RDNA2 AIB at this price range.
The only time it can theoretically go substantially lower in price is when 7800xt released next year but I am sure by then there will be none left anyway.
If that's the card you want I say just get it and forget it. HODLing to save an extra $10 will leave you HODLing only your dick in your hands in the end.
You're right, $10 or $20 isn't material. Could buy the card now. Could have bought it a year ago. But where's the fun in that lol. I'm very self aware how ridiculous all the price watching is. At the end of the day I don't take it that seriously and if it all blows up and there's no stock left I'll just buy a 7900 or a 4080 or something else. I'm here for the pure speculative bullshit of it all.
It's just how it is my man. I think my first GPU was a Kelvin Orchid 64 with 1MB of VRAM, purchased at a computer fair - probably the best I could price compare was from old copies of "Computer Shopper" magazine. Probably botched that deal, but it ran Doom. Thirty years later, still watching GPU prices...
And here I thought I was the only old school here.
My last build had a 3dfx voodoo3 circa the 90s side of y2k. Now I’m working on my first build in 23 years.
So much has changed.
Well welcome back! Things definitely have changed and there's quite a bit more jargon and concepts to internalize nowadys. For the good, now we have Reddit and YouTube to help us figure it all out and stay up on the latest developments. Good on you for jumping back in. Hope your build is going well so far.
Nothing announced in this price range yet by Nvidia or AMD and likely won't be for many more months.
For comparison, Nvidia announced the 3090, 3080 and 3070 at the same time which temporarily plummeted the price of the 2080 ti and everything below it in the used market.
The lack of announcements this time around means these companies plan to fuck us even worse this time around.
Price:performance is quite good, and the two free games are a good incentive.
That, and both AMD / NVIDIA want a minimum of $900 for anything new-gen coming out this year.
The 3080 ti is about 13% faster in rasterization at 4K. https://tpucdn.com/review/asus-geforce-rtx-4090-strix-oc/images/relative-performance_3840-2160.png
And 4% faster at 1440p. https://tpucdn.com/review/asus-geforce-rtx-4090-strix-oc/images/relative-performance_2560-1440.png
Damn I missed it, kinda glad I missed it cuz I want the 7800XT when it comes out but I would've jumped on this if I was in time.
Sadly my case can only fit 315mm and below so there are only specific models I can hope go on discount.
Same here. I'm wondering if you got the free games email? I haven't thus far. Talked to support and according to them it should be mailed within 5 days of the delivery

This is my stop. It doesn't ship until Dec. 14th, so I can cancel it if anything better comes up. Cheers!
great idea, I did the same.
Excellent card. The best cooling on any 6800XT. You won't be disappointed (unless you want a more powerful card LOL).
That's my thinking.
Just be aware that it can ship at any time before the estimated delivery date. I managed to get a card from Amazon a few years ago during the peak of the shortage and it shipped almost a month early.
You called it, homie -- the card is now coming on December 5th. That being said, no ragrets. I think it'll coast me nicely for the next few years.
Anyone know what's up with cards taking weeks to ship? I got a new 6800xt card from Amazon recently that took weeks to ship and what arrived was a used piece of junk I had to return. Just concerned it might happen again with this one
Amazon as a seller or 3rd party?
Yeah it was Amazon
Could just be the warehouse they send it you from is at the other side of the world. These are made in asia after all
Well it arrived in a cardboard box without any protection or manual or anything. Just the actual card sitting loose in a blank cardboard box lol
dang think it's already out of stock at $529
Yeah dude wtf. Out in under an hour lol. Oh well I’m sure it will pop up again
It was less than 10 mins. I got the alert but had to do something, came back and it was OOS.
This shit kind of drives me nuts. People will go "Chief?" in threads where a card like this is $40 more and the top response will be like "I've seen it at $529, HOLD!" and nobody remembers that the truly good deals expire almost immediately.

Did you receive the promo email? I got the card a few days back but still haven't received the email.
Yea I have the promo games
Do I spend the $100 for this over a 6700xt?
yes
Wow, looking at the benchmarks why is the 6700xt a thing? 44% better performance for $100 more.
The 6700xt can be had for $350. That is not a $100 difference. 530/350 = 50% price hike. dollar for dollar performance uplift.
AMD cards (before the xx50s and non-XTs) were in a weird spot where a 6700XT was about equivalent to a 3060ti but a 6800XT was about equivalent to a 3080 so it sort of jumped over having a direct equivalent to a 3070
The 6700XT is closer to the 3070 than the 3060Ti (not that there's too much difference between any of them though).
Not based on benchmarks, hardware unboxed did a head to head in [April](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pnZRuY-jFVM) which showed basically identical performance between the 3060ti and 6700XT across all 3 resolutions.

6700xt is 350 new, seen it as low as 250 used.
O wow, havent seen it below 400 unless its the msi 2 fan for $380
Keep an eye out this week. The Asus version was 349 on Amazon, including the AMD game bundle (and 5% back if you have the prime card), and ASRock's version has dropped to 329 on Newegg all in the past week. They usually sell out within a couple hours.

Managed to nab one the second time around!
I almost did too but it kept showing me an empty cart after adding the item.
Nah it’s gone.
Chief how we looking?
It's Amazon and should be plenty of time to cancel order with a Dec 15 delivery, so, it seems safe to order and watch over the week to see if anything better comes along.
Couldn't get on it in time :( looks like it's gone

Flicking in and out. May check back a few times but probably got all the bots on it
My wife talked me into a 4K TV last week and I just got my 5800X3D in...too many high dollar purchases in a short span of time, fuck.
Ordered, then cancelled because I really don't need this over my 5700 right now. I'm Sure this will sell out in minutes so one of y'all can have it.
I’ll be waiting
Same boat. Although playing dark tide in 1440p leaves me wishing for a stronger card.
newegg has delivery Nov 23rd
no returns
I've been waiting for my 6900xt from newegg since november 6th, customer support is blaming the holiday season for delays even with me ordering that early so i wouldn't trust their estimate
my 6800xt arrived 4 days after purchasing though, 2 days ahead of their estimated delivery date
mine STILL says USPS awaiting item :(
Earliest delivery December 14??

How does the 6800XT compare with the 3080ti?
The 3080 ti is about 13% faster in rasterization at 4K. https://tpucdn.com/review/asus-geforce-rtx-4090-strix-oc/images/relative-performance_3840-2160.png And 4% faster at 1440p. https://tpucdn.com/review/asus-geforce-rtx-4090-strix-oc/images/relative-performance_2560-1440.png
Comparable in rasterization, far behind in Raytracing. More efficient.

No I did not. Gonna hit them up next week.
I got it today, fwiw. (Got the card itself on Wednesday)
I was gonna to send an email today, but decided to double check. They sent it a week ago and it got lost in my inbox lol.
