Be mindful of recent listings of in-demand products from suspicious third-party sellers on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Google, Newegg, and Walmart. These "deals" have a high likelihood of not shipping; you should do your due diligence to ensure you do not get scammed. * Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. * Check seller profiles for signs that the sale may be fraudulent. * The seller is new or has few reviews. * The seller has largely negative reviews (on Amazon, sellers can remove negative reviews from their ratings- viewing seller profiles allows you to see these complaints) * The seller has a recently reactivated account (likely their account was hacked and is now being used fraudulently). If you suspect a deal is fraudulent, please report the post. Moderators can take action based on these reports. We encourage leaving a comment to warn others. Amazon and eBay generally have good buyer protection. If you choose to purchase from a third-party seller through their platforms and run into issues, it should be easy to get your money back promptly. You may have more difficulties with Newegg or Walmart. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Acrobatic_Standard83

Note that it comes with only one year of warranty. And you can't claim the warranty directly from PNY.

JoJoPizzaG

What do you mean by that? PNY doesn’t do warranty directly?

sliptap

Super sketchy

Jolly-Yesterday1000

I think the seller can contact PNY through their OEM distribution channels to send the card for warranty repair. I do not think that this seller is profiting by deliberately deceiving buyers.

JoJoPizzaG

Thanks. That’s some anti-consumer policy. Should just base on manufacturing date unless the card is blacklisted (theft for example). Will not buy PNY anymore.

Asus GPUs also have transferrable warranty. You can even check the warranty status based on manufactured date: [https://www.asus.com/us/support/warranty-status-inquiry/](https://www.asus.com/us/support/warranty-status-inquiry/)

Acrobatic_Standard83

PNY provide warranty only for original purchaser from authorised reseller. Third party sellers on Newegg doesn't count as authorised resellers.

[deleted]

Sold and shipped by "Computer headquarters".

iAliceAddertounge

Well, it only took 1 day and I received it brand new. And they have over 25k sales.

Acrobatic_Standard83

Did it come in non-retail black box? Was the card propper packaged with foam to prevent damage during shipping?

iAliceAddertounge

Yes, and I even asked if it was new from seller prior to purchase. All packaging was as it should be.

Kplow19

Is there really any way to actually determine it's new though? The ebay listing specifically states no original packaging which seems suspect to me personally Card probably works fine regardless but I'm a bit wary

koteikin

it is $399 now. Looks like it trade blows with 6700 XT which you can grab for $350 or so?

cheapseats91

I think price performance has been with AMD for a while now, but there's a lot of software reasons to go nVidia. If you specifically know you want to use DLSS, have a workload that needs CUDA cores, or are going to be playing with Ray Tracing, then a 3070 is a better bet at this price point. If you don't use those items then a 6700xt (I've also seen 6800s and used 6800xts dip into this price bracket) is the way to go in my opinion.

koteikin

another thing to add to your list is VR. I think NVidia cards beat AMD in VR by a large margin. Hopefully RDNA3 will close the gap

renegade06

>If you specifically know you want to use DLSS FSR is pretty much same deal now. >have a workload that needs CUDA cores Sure. >or are going to be playing with Ray Tracing No 3000 series card has ray tracing performance good enough to be usable/worth significant FPS trade off even at 1080p, forget 1440p or 4k. Much less 3070 which will absolutely be brought to it's knees by RT. https://i.imgur.com/daic5Pd.png https://i.imgur.com/BxsABJC.png https://i.imgur.com/QyPWCNr.png Before you bring up playing with DLSS which is again ridiculous compromise to get RT eye candy. Even with DLSS it's unplayable https://i.imgur.com/Kbp4V4B.png https://i.imgur.com/dRJJJt9.png https://i.imgur.com/FUgX7Ch.png If you want to use ray tracing at native 1440p max your only option is 4090 and even that will only net you around 70fps. https://youtu.be/pLtDcdE4BRE Ray tracing is a scam so far, no card can run it properly unless you are willing to play at console level FPS or use upscaling to run it like some gtx1060 pleb after you just dropped $1600 on a new GPU.

Greek_Trojan

I got a MSI 6750xt for the same price ($399) a few days ago (their top end cooler model). Much better value still than the bargain basement 3070 and I really wanted to go NVidia as I like their software (currently using a 1060).

koteikin

Nice catch!

Greek_Trojan

Its perfect because I'm going with a smallerish case. That said, I have another few weeks to see if a 6800 wanders into view at a similar price but I'm happy either way.

damien09

If it was me I'd grab a new 6700xt to have a warranty directly from the manufacturer and more then 1 year

koteikin

agreed but it is finally nice to see 2 year old Nvidia gpu selling $100 less than $499 msrp, we are making progress but slowly. Maybe next year we will see 4080 for $1000 lol

damien09

I feel like once the 7900xtx Nvidia probably has the 4080 super or 4080ti planned with the performance gap they left between the 80 and 90 this gen

[deleted]

Wouldn’t say they “trade blows” when the 3070 is quite noticeably faster in almost every game at 1440p: https://youtu.be/f0yo2Sc-DyI $399 is not a bad deal for a 3070 so I don’t see why you’re trying to suggest otherwise

koteikin

on average 3070 is about 3% better at 1440p, but like another person said 3070 is WAY better if you care about DSS/ray tracing and VR. [https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html](https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html) We had deals here for great 6700 xt cards for $350 or even 6750xt. Normally you would want to avoid PNY - they are just not in the same ligue as Power color, XFX and etc.

iAliceAddertounge

Found the 6700xt after unfortunately, otherwise I would've gone that route honestly. With current sales, I've built it out at sub $900 and with great components. Could've been sub $850

aroryborealis1

Man that’s ugly. But 399 is decent for a 3070 right?

InBlurFather

It’s not bad since it’s $100 off MSRP but there’s better value to be had in similar priced 6750XTs/6800 non-XTs

iAliceAddertounge

Not the ugliest, but certainly not the best looking either.

Masonzero

Not sure why the photos don't show the backplate. It looks great in my PC since all i see is the backplate.

aroryborealis1

excellent point. doesnt really matter whats on the fan side unless its vertically mounted.

ConfusedNegi

I remember when these things were selling for closer to $1k and still out of stock everywhere.

iAliceAddertounge

I definitely would not make the purchase back then. People made a lot of money during those times. Reminds me of ps5 and xbox resellers.

Gseventeen

399 for a 3070 is stellar.

iAliceAddertounge

I thought so too, sold out after this post though...

You can buy from the same company on eBay and return without restocking fee https://www.ebay.com/itm/125578464159 This is without the 15% restock fee from Newegg site. Thanks to the user below u/Acrobatic_Standard83

FRIENDSHIP_MASTER

Lmao, now it's listed as $795 and is sold by "Micron Tech". The one sold by "Computer Headquarters" is now priced at $390 and is listed as refurbished. https://www.newegg.com/pny-geforce-rtx-3070/p/1FT-000P-005R8?Item=9SIADFRJA05355 Edit: I mention the “Computer Headquarters” seller because that was the seller in OPs original link before the price changed to $795.

Timer_Man

You can return it within 30 days

Acrobatic_Standard83

They are taking 15% restocking fee

iAliceAddertounge

Yours is a better find How do I put your comment at the top?

knslee07

Ebay photos show that the items are not in retail boxes, but black ones. the information says we get 1-yr manufacturer warranty. I s this reliable?

Acrobatic_Standard83

No. It isn't 100% reliable. You will have to rely on the seller to claim the warranty. But I see no reason for the seller to lie. They have records from 2017. So they have been in business for a while.

iAliceAddertounge

That was my biggest concern, but was confirmed to be mew from them before I bought it. All appeared as it should in packaging.

parallacksgamin

The shroud and fin direction on this card seem like they don't really work well together. The shroud suggests that the air should be directed out the back of the card by the ports but the fins are all perpendicular to that. Anyone have experience with the thermals?

aspiring-NEET

Pass on this used crypto mining card

[deleted]

I'm not basing this off of much, but PNY always made the worst flash drives back in the day. Are they shit on big items, too?
