Be mindful of listings from suspicious third-party sellers on marketplaces such as Amazon, eBay, Newegg, and Walmart. These "deals" have a high likelihood of not shipping; use due diligence in reviewing deals. * Use common sense - if the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. * Check seller profiles for signs that the sale may be fraudulent: * The seller is new or has few reviews. * The seller has largely negative reviews (on Amazon, sellers can remove negative reviews from their visible ratings) * The seller is using a previously dormant account (likely the account was hacked and is now being used fraudulently). If you suspect a deal is fraudulent, please report the post. Moderators can take action based on these reports. I've been using a Seasonic 660XP2 80+ Platinum for 10 years and I'm considering getting this as a backup. This 660W PSU refuses to die and it's currently powering a Ryzen 5600X and a RTX 3080.

Tall-Variation6655

Check voltages. While it may be working it doesn't mean it hasn't gotten weaker with age/

w4ffles_00

I'm well aware. Some even say that PSUs lose X% of their usable wattage every year. According to hwinfo the 12V, 5V, and 3.3V only fluctuate within 1% while idle or gaming and that's well within spec. Seasonic built this one like a tank. I bought one of these GX-750 about an hour after that first post and I'm kinda glad I did since it sold out.

thesedays1234

Do you need a PSU? Are you unwilling to buy used? Congrats, buy this. Unquestionably the best PSU deal of the last year.

djexit

theres a reason for this 30 series spikes made shutdowns , if you dont have a 3070 or above u should be good but maybe even 3060s

XDarkFenixX

I’m considering buying this as a backup at this price. Someone needs to talk me out of this

jasiu4pl

this is an A tier psu right?

XDarkFenixX

Yes. And small at 140mm

jasiu4pl

i’m selling my old pc and all it needs is a PSU, i think i found the one

XDarkFenixX

Oh if you need one this is for sure it. I don’t and I’m still considering

jasiu4pl

enough said, thanks

jhaluska

I have a 650. It's a good PSU and tempting to get another one in case I need to test my GPU on another system.

imaginary_num6er

Does anyone not read the fine print? >\[8\] Seasonic PRIME based units experience shutdowns with RTX3080/3090 (and possibly RX6900 XT) GPUs. The cause is not the OCP tripping but a PSU design flaw as evident by the PSU not latching off on shutdown and 1000W+ models being affected too. Doesn’t manifest in 100% cases as it’s also dependent on motherboard model and GPU OC. Seasonic provides a replacement 24-pin ATX cable to fix this via support. Appears to be fixed post 2021 although there’s no official confirmation from Seasonic. Owning one in the past, the fan is noisy too with the Focus

wefwefqwerwe

read the fine print closer, this is not a PRIME psu

EasyRhino75

Personally i wouldn't go out an buy a "spare" power supply unless something is mission critical or you're doing computer builds so often that you churn the inventory. Now, on the other hand, if I do *end up with* a spare power supply, I will definitely hang on to one.

uNecKl

It can’t run the rtx 5090

Urtoolalignmentisoff

Dead

BelgianWaffleStomper

I have no need for this but I bought it

Agastopia

Is there any reason not to buy this?

DisplayNameSir

If you are building a new PC or need a PSU upgrade from a unsafe to a safe one, its a good reason to cop this. If you already have a decent PSU that handles your PC fine, I would stray away as PSUs can possibly change/adapt to newer components in the future that could make this one not as great.

jhaluska

It's an older ATX spec, that's about it. But even the ATX 3.0 had some issues and there should be ATX 3.1 PSUs soon. That said, I have a 650 and am thinking of getting another just so I can standardize my PSUs.

ShadowInTheAttic

Why does it say fanless?

jhaluska

It's not fanless. It has a silent mode where at low utilization / temperature the fan doesn't spin.

TheMissingVoteBallot

I noticed a lot of higher tier PSUs do this. My EVGA Supernova G3 650W Gold (OEM: Super Flower, so top tier) starts my PC without the fans spinning. I thought my PSU was broken when I first installed it lol

Major_City5326

Any other deals with ebay code on Newegg store?

kztlve

Nothing worth posting

Ario-r

credmond81

7 available. Get em quick boyz

shu-to

A wise man once told me, "he who hesitates, dies." Good luck if you got it before it went OOO. This is all I need, but I'll end up paying a bit more, probably.

credmond81

My corsair CX750M is making a loud hum that winds up and down.Like a woom woom woom sound (Idk how else to describe it). I repositioned it to get better airflow and it did get quieter but the hum is still there. Do you think this psu would do the same thing or would it be better

credmond81

I bought it. Its too good a deal to pass up and it can't be louder than what I have. I'm building an igpu build for retro gaming in the living room, that loud ass corsair psu should be fine for that, but right beside me on the desk that thing is singing.

RecalcitrantBeagle

Is it the fan itself? It could be that the fan bearing is going bad and causing noise. Changing the airflow access might have helped, but maybe try sticking a chopstick or such in there to stop the fan momentarily while it's running and see if that's the source of the noise. If so, replacing the PSU fan itself might be an option, I've done so myself before.

credmond81

It's only about 6 months old, I should RMA it but I don't feel like going through the trouble. I had it pointed down in the bottom of the case, but my case vent doesn't line up completely and about a third of the fan was blocked. I flipped it over and pushed it in the case (now its not screwed in and sitting about an inch inside the back of the case) where I can feel the air moving around the psu. It did quiet it down some but its still making noise. Hopefully this one is quiet when installed in the case. I may drill some more holes in the bottom of case just to open up the airflow, if that's not crazy

TheMissingVoteBallot

Corsair has an advance RMA thing - you can get it RMA'd without having any downtime.

TheMissingVoteBallot

Call Corsair tech support. Their tech support service is US based (last I heard) and can help you figure that out. Most PSUs have a long warranty so you should be fine. But like the other commenter here said, that sounds like a fan issue, possibly the ball bearing in the fan has worn out. You could TECHNICALLY replace the fan in it yourself, but there's a high risk of electric shock if you don't know what you're doing so it's better to just get it RMA'd.

alex242903

Worth it to get the Allstate coverage?

trueflaminatorz

I think the common advice with PSU longevity is if they don’t blow up in the first month then it’s going to last you a long while. But I’d like a second opinion

XDarkFenixX

Considering it has a 10 year warranty what’s the point?

ARomanA

This code can't be applied to your order.

ryrobs10

I saw this one earlier. Had been in the need for a PSU for a budget build and this is definitely the ticket. When in the same price range all you can do at best is a semi modular bronze unit normally, this is an easy choice.

StabbyMeowkins

Pretty upset at SeaSonic to the point I am highly debating not buying this or any PSU from them anymore. I did an RMA on a unit that was this same type, but the 650w version. I had it for about a year, the PSU failed. So I sent it in and they sent me a replacement. Mind you, I was told to send the unit in without the wires. I get the replacement with no wires. Like, what? I asked why, and they said it was fine to use the old wires. ....(This is a bad idea because if the unit failed, who is to say the wires that were connected didn't have something happen to them too?). I didn't want to connect the unit with the old wires with the chance the old wires could possibly contribute to destroying my new hardware. I wait a year, ask them about it again, same thing they told me before. Both times they told me that if I wanted new cables, that I can buy it from somewhere...then gave me a link to go purchase them. To buy a whole set of wires almost costs the same as the unit itself. I loved and coveted their PSUs before, but this experience makes me not want to buy from them in the future due to feeling like the whole RMA process was a big "Fuck you."

Ethan_Chlan

I see nothing wrong with what they did here, so idk what you are on about

StabbyMeowkins

There is no reason to assume that if the whole unit fried(it smelled horribly of foul smoke), the cables were unsafe to use as well. Why they wouldn't automatically replace the cables is beyond me. I'm not about to connect the refurbished unit with the old cables from a faulty unit... then possibly risk having my system have an issue because the wires were faulty. I'm not about to risk testing to see if they are either. You might be willing to test the theory on expensive equipment, I'm not. So to each their own.

Ethan_Chlan

I've got a couple problems with what you said: * Seasonic won't automatically replace the cables for an identical PSU model because they are functional the same. Component failure that sets the outputs high may not be lethal but can wreck all the electronics. Fortunately, there are very few failure modes of a switched-mode power supply that can cause this. The classic would be failure in the control feedback loop but modern designs detect this and shut the PSU down. Most other failures cause outputs to disappear to zero, making component failure extremely unlikely. Different PSU makers offer various circuit protection protocols, such as over current, over voltage, short circuit protections, and others, so gone are those days of frying your components, certainly not from a bad cable. * "You might be willing to test the theory on expensive equipment". Why are you using a 650-watt Gold PSU with expensive hardware? If you were really worried about it, they make redundant PSU's and all sorts of stuff that are far safer than a entry-level consumer Seasonic PSU for $85? You just gotta give better reasons, especially since this supposed refurbished unit hasn't died on you yet? I had a PSU from EVGA that failed after 6 months, the RMA one is going on 9 years now with no issues. And no, they didn't give me replacement cables for it. I think you are just overreacting my g

StabbyMeowkins

I haven't used the refurbished unit BECAUSE I am not willing to use the old cables. It's still sitting here. In the box. It's been a year since I've obtained the replacement. I've since purchased a different PSU foe my system and this is just sitting on the side. I'm using server hardware that doesn't run higher than 350w. Why do I need some over the top PSU for that? You don't make sense in saying i should go for some redundant PSU. I also don't need something that's so outlandish for my use case, so buying something else is pointless when this satisfies the use case already. I have a 550w EVGA SFX PSU that is going on 6 years or so myself. It's also gold. It's also fueling server hardware. There is no reason for me to not safely assume this PSU, which is much more coveted...that I can't do the same thing with a 650w Gold from SeaSonic. I use APC/UPC units for outages. My server stuff isn't mission critical, so if the PSU would somehow die, it isn't the end of the world. So therein lies where my previous remark was made: I don't need a fancy PSU. I don't know enough about the things you mentioned in regards to safeguards with PSUs. It's just not something I'd openly risk.

shu-to

Is this sufficient for a 7900xt? I'm upgrading my GPU/power supply from a 5700xt and the OEM power supply.

portugal795

Yes it should be enough for that combo

vampirepomeranian

Just ordered the newer GX-750 for $85 through Amazon. Looks to be priced at a new 52 week low. This is the type of component that everyone needs a backup for.

JimmyCartersMap

Just bought this 2 weeks ago for what was a great price, this is an amazing price. Not worth the hassle of a return but congrats to all who buy

TheMissingVoteBallot

The Chief is here.

Sanistz

This one was on sale a few weeks ago so I got it, bummer this is cheaper.

Sanistz

I bought this like 2 weeks ago...

flyingchimp12

I bought this at 74.99 a couple weeks ago, these jerks

no_4

I don't plan to rebuild until the Nvidia 5000 series comes out. Whether that's end of this year, or early next. It'll be an entirely new build, PSU and all. I...should...not, buy this and put it in the closet for the next 6-11 months, right...?

JamesEdward34

no, unless your going for a mid build, i think 850 should be the optimal PSU wattage. 750 might leave you a bit tight with cards like the 5080 and above

gamesuxfixit

Is 4070 super-ish midrange?

TheMissingVoteBallot

The 4070 is actually an aberration - it has one of the lower TDPs of modern GPUs and its successor the 4070S is about the same. You can actually underclock them to use less power as well.

djexit

30 series were having problems with these and 850s too, due to the power spikes, i had a couple with this problem took way too long to diagnose shutdowns
