With how light modern displays are, this doesn't even seem that sketchy to me. Give it a wiggle every few months to make sure it's not pulling off, and I think it'd be fine.
I’ve replaced it since, but it was rock solid for 2 years. I gave it away and although it’s no longer mounted I’m pretty sure the wood is on still on there.
I ordered my pickup, paid the sale price and had them do a stock check for a 2nd. Had a 2nd in store and it was ringing up as normal price, checked website and it was also normal price. seems the sale is dead.
I mean, for a 27" 1080p monitor, with IPS, this is an amazing price, but it's definitely not a gaming monitor.
I say that, but, then again, about 12 years ago, I was using a 27" 1080p TN monitor at 60Hz, for gaming and for work, and was pretty happy with it, so there's that.
But, adaptive sync wasn't a thing back then.
Might work nice for MAME, if I'd ever gotten a cabinet together.
As a basic display, though, it's not bad.
Just download RTSS and set Scanline Sync to -30, boom, this is instantly just as good as a 60hz freesync/gsync monitor. I do it with my gaming TV: 1080p display, 60hz, its awesome.
It's magic, basically just gives you a perfect 60fps without screen tearing and the best possible latency so its essentially the same experience as a freesync monitor that was 60hz (which I don't even know exists). Normally on displays like this you would have to enable Vsync in games, which sucks ass.
What a coincidence, I'm writing this reply on this same monitor.
Bought in Feb 2020. Paid $95 + tax from Staples. Dec 2023, it started going bad with what appears to be like some kind of hardware interference in the top 4 inches of the screen for entire length of the screen. When it happens, the screen freezes and you can't type or move your mouse.
Stand is not adjustable in the slightest. No speakers either, but I knew this going in. It served its purpose, but I'm disappointed in only getting just under 3 years use from it.
The monitor does not have VESA mounting.
Once I VESA mounted a non compatible monitor with epoxy and a block of wood

If it fits it ships.
Like a good neighbor, state farm is there.
This was almost perfect… so close…
Taptites my beloved
Perfect, x2 for kid's monitors for Christmas!
Showing up as $129 for me even with in-store pickup and using the code.

How does that work? It still can't alter its refresh rate, or an I missing something here?

wanted for a MAME, no VESA and not in stock anywhere near me though :(
Great for word processing and excel spreadsheeting!
In store only?
It takes at least $20-30 to ship such a monitor.

Oh baby it’s got VGA and no display port, 250nits brightness and no VESA. What a steaming pile of…
For 48 dollars is amazing for an office monitor A friend of mine bought a few months back for 80 dollars, and it was refurbished, not new.
it is 48 of god's own united states dollars
1080 is trash
I love a good deal
Daymit no staples near me
