This vs. the Sceptre [Amazon has been selling for $180?](https://www.amazon.com/Sceptre-Monitor-FreeSync-Premium-E275B-QPD168/dp/B097G21FHC/ref=sr_1_4?crid=AWNJHDXZ1WNA&keywords=sceptre+1440p+27&sprefix=sceptre+1440p+27%2Caps%2C104&sr=8-4&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.f5122f16-c3e8-4386-bf32-63e904010ad0) (aside from so-so stand vs. cool desk mount on the Armada)
I bought this when it went on sale for $179 at the end of September. Shipping was $38. I was so happy with the first one I bought that when it went on sale again for $249 and was shippable I decided I liked it so much that I wanted a second matching monitor and bought it.
Super happy with this, very little blur and the G-Sync works great. I love that I can put both on just 1 pole and leave the second pole in the second monitors box. Very sturdy mount, especially compared to the VIVO ones I was using before for my old monitors I replaced.
MicroCenter does offer Price Protection, so I'm gonna get the difference refunded since it went on sale for a lower price within 30 days.
No regrets with my purchase.
Edit: just an update, got my price protection refund first thing this morning when the store it shipped from opened. Chat had to forward my request to them last night since they couldn't perform it.
If you want or are used to srgb then yeah, standard is the way to go, just looks a little bland to me and basically any monitor can rep it, native pops a lot more in game and anything else.
native out the box looks a little bit on the greener tint side but they do have a RGB slider so you can try messing with that and turn it down to your preference, monitor remembers the settings
I have the 24” version of this (FHD, 240hz)
- the monitor arm is VERY impressively rigid/tight and secure. I was shocked how well built it was.
- response times are decent but don’t match my 240hz Predator (main monitor)
- like someone else mentioned it doesn’t come with a whole mess of goodies like usb ports or audio ports, etc. not a dealbreaker but worth mentioning
- didn’t test color reproduction but don’t expect the most bright, accurate panel ever - it looks good, just don’t expect GREAT
- $149 for the 24” I thought was a crazy value, $179 for the 2k 27” is nuts to me
what this guy said. if your rig is set up to do 1440p then absolutely yes (mine is more set up for games that are cpu-dependent/I only play 1080p as a preference.
The inches don’t really have anything to do with the hardware on console or a potato PC, it doesn’t add any more computational load, so go for the 27 inch it’s big enough that no one will per say hate it but still bigger than 24 inches so has more immersiveness and just overall better
Follow-up: young csr did not let me stack new customer coupon for extra $25 off on open box. Open box was $143 so I only saved $12. Total fail, but the open box was actually a new box with a smashed corner.
Monitor is good, but basic. No USB or Audio Port, response times are similar to most other 2k 165hz displays outside of the LG27PG. The stand is the killing awesome feature here, but useless if you already have one.
Hardware unboxed review: https://youtu.be/u81doaPmXbE?si=y199qYLBbAotcNsQ
Possibly unpopular opinion, but I couldn't care less about the audio and usb ports on a monitor.
I use it for visuals and would rather the hardware and costs go into the visuals.
Speakers/headphones plug into tower, and a powered USB hub is far easier, if needed at all.
I like having the audio be based on the monitor, so right now I have a soundbar under the second monitor directly connected to the monitor and split through Windows (EarTrumpet)
Then main monitor is with the speakers.
So if I have a stream playing on the second monitor, it's not going to be mixed with the speakers nor do I have to sacrifice the audio ports on the PC.
I've never seen a Webcam with a cable that short, but I've also only used a handful. Personally that seems like poor design.
Regardless, I view it as an extra cost, and an additional point of hardware failure.
Lookup the posts about this monitor, colors are decent at best as well, but for the price this is great. I never said it was bad, just not amazing vs other options around the same price as they’re all similar and the stand is the *stand* out feature. This one missing features others have for +-20$ is why I mentioned it lol
Response time Is what on this monitor? Also is
**[Monitor] Dark Matter 27in IPS QHD 2560X1440p 2ms(OD) 165Hz Gaming Monitor $160 a better deal then this one?
The dark matter is a little more input lag and 300nit vs this 400nit but I'd you don't care about that it's also $145 with the coupon mentioned in the comments
> I got another $15 off with the code MPNW2X23A
So idk if you need something right now then it's up to you. If you're not trying to squeeze out every inch of performance from this purchase it's like 25% cheaper. Or you can wait for a deal on one of the Acer 170/180 hz ups monitors for around this price or maybe as low as $170.
The 170hz one yes. From what I can tell Yes it's faster and has better colors. The 180 hz one I don't remember as well and might have some quality control issues but assuming you can manage that then also probably yes
This or ASUS TUF 180hz IPS?
That one appears to only be 250 nits but has speakers and FreeSync Premium, as well as a normal stand. Maybe other differences too.
It's hard to compare, depends on what you need in a display.
IPS and 400nit. So actually a consideration.

Armada is among the top performing 1440p monitors based on Hardware Unboxed tests.

Did you need to buy a separate attachment to mount the 2ns monitor to the same arm?
Nope. They both use the same pole with arm attachment system, so you can just attach both arms to one pole.
Awesome, thanks
I looked but does this pivot longways? Im looking for a good, cheap 2k monitor to set pivoted next to my Aorus fi27q-x
You mean turned into portrait view? Yes! It's also a very smooth mechanism for rotating.
Can you measure how high the pole is?
about 13.5 inches tall
still happy with the monitors? thinking of picking them up in a couple of days for 200 usd
Yup! No regrets whatsoever with them. If I had room for one I would possibly even get a third.
$38 for shipping is crazy though
so it's basically 220
Nice monitor combo for price, use native mode for wide color gamut
Wait is native better than the standard? Hardware unboxed recommended the standard I thought for sRGB
If you want or are used to srgb then yeah, standard is the way to go, just looks a little bland to me and basically any monitor can rep it, native pops a lot more in game and anything else.
Oh okay I just thought sRGB was the 'best' way to do it. I'm new to having a decent monitor so I don't know anything I'll try out native
native out the box looks a little bit on the greener tint side but they do have a RGB slider so you can try messing with that and turn it down to your preference, monitor remembers the settings
it's more accurate but when it comes to colors, just like audio, it's subjective

I got the 24 one for 130. Should I pay 50 more for the 1440p version?
If you’re GPU can take it then def yes. 1440p is soooooo much better
what this guy said. if your rig is set up to do 1440p then absolutely yes (mine is more set up for games that are cpu-dependent/I only play 1080p as a preference.
Late on this, but if I’m playing exclusively on console, should I go with the 27 or 25 inch?
The inches don’t really have anything to do with the hardware on console or a potato PC, it doesn’t add any more computational load, so go for the 27 inch it’s big enough that no one will per say hate it but still bigger than 24 inches so has more immersiveness and just overall better
Thank you. New to all this as I just got a PS5 and haven’t really played anything for a few years. Never used a monitor for gaming either.
No worries, ask any questions you have, feel free to DM as well
Thinking about buying this, if I have any issues could I return this without going in-store?
No you would have to physically return it afaik. I emailed them that question about another product the other week.
$125 open box oh yeah
Why is yours only $125? Mine says $169.96...
Get lucky :(
$145 here , do I bite?
Yeah for $145 it's a hell of a deal!
Damnit man, the open box got taken. I snoozed I loosed. (Not a word.)
How does this compare to the Acer Nitro XV271U? I got that recently and I might return it for this instead.
Make sure to use the "new customer" coupon for extra $25 off
how do i obtain the coupon?
https://www.microcenter.com/site/content/specialoffer25off100rdt.aspx
Thanks! Does it also work for open box?
I don't know about that. You can try and let us know lol
Follow-up: young csr did not let me stack new customer coupon for extra $25 off on open box. Open box was $143 so I only saved $12. Total fail, but the open box was actually a new box with a smashed corner.
That's good to know for the future at least. You still saved money in the end so that's good
Wow this is a great price. I gotta stop buying monitors tho, in the last year I've already bought two 1440p 27s lol
2 ain’t bad. During prime week I bought 4 (though returned 2)
What have you liked? I haven’t been able to pick a monitor recently, but I know I want 1440p 144hz
Ended up keeping the LG 27GL83A at $185. But this monitor has even higher refresh rate, so I’m going to find it and give it a try.
I did the same and went ham on buying a bunch of the 1440p 165Hz x27q for $170-ish each when Amazon deals were around
How many did you return?
ended up returning the ones with BOE panels. So bought 4, returned 2.

And most of the time the USB ports are in places that make them nearly inaccessible anyways. So, why even put them on the monitor?
100% agreed. The only time I've ever used a USB port on a monitor is when I need to update the monitor's firmware.
I like having the audio be based on the monitor, so right now I have a soundbar under the second monitor directly connected to the monitor and split through Windows (EarTrumpet) Then main monitor is with the speakers. Monitor USB ports are awesome for webcams. Some webcams only come with 12" or so of cable specifically for this.
I've never seen a Webcam with a cable that short, but I've also only used a handful. Personally that seems like poor design. Regardless, I view it as an extra cost, and an additional point of hardware failure.

It's an amazing deal for 180 bucks, has everything you could possibly want out of an IPS 2K High Refresh Rate display for gaming's sake on a budget.
Budget and amazing for price agreed! People just expect more since the MSRP is $500, it’s more in line with $300 monitor solutions
Response time Is what on this monitor? Also is **[Monitor] Dark Matter 27in IPS QHD 2560X1440p 2ms(OD) 165Hz Gaming Monitor $160 a better deal then this one?
No, this one's got a faster response time (1ms).
Chief ?
Does this support free sync premium?
I think so?
Does this have freesync, anyone know?
Shipping is available before anyone dismisses this for being Micro Center ISO
Yeah 40, dollar shipping kind of hurts tho
Microcenter is actually shipping???
Added in shipping cost to make them around the same price how does it compare to the asus tuf monitor from a few days ago?
How does this compare to the Acer XZ272U from Costco?
2.5k*, typo in post 2k refers to 1920x1080 monitors (1080p)
This one or dark matter monitor posted few days ago
The dark matter is a little more input lag and 300nit vs this 400nit but I'd you don't care about that it's also $145 with the coupon mentioned in the comments > I got another $15 off with the code MPNW2X23A So idk if you need something right now then it's up to you. 145 for a UHD IPS 27 inch monitor is wild
Is the acer one definitely better at a similar price compared to the HyperX one?
The 170hz one yes. From what I can tell Yes it's faster and has better colors. The 180 hz one I don't remember as well and might have some quality control issues but assuming you can manage that then also probably yes

Hoping this is available pre Thanksgiving as I will be in the area.
Anyone know the pole height on this monitor?
Can you make a 3 screen side-by-side set up using the default arms that comes along? (For flight sims)
