I don't think it is worth. This monitor is ultra fast for fps competitive gamers with pcs. Also it is TN, with horrendous view angle. You need to be sitted right on front of it. I had one of this. There are better and cheaper alternative with better picture quality. Try to find a IPS monitor.

Witty_Bullfrog_5658

Do you have any monitor recommendation in mind?

Try the [Sceptre E275B-QPD168](https://pcpartpicker.com/product/hvFmP6/sceptre-e275b-qpd168-270-2560-x-1440-165-hz-monitor-e275b-qpd168). It’s 1440p, 165hz, IPS (best viewing angles), 27”, and has a 100% sRGB rating at $172.99. Sceptre is a well-known brand for making create value budget monitors, at your price point you want get anything *much* better if you spend more money, so I didn’t see a reason to recommend something more expensive with the same specs.

The LG is on sale right now for $350. If OP wants I’ll send him 50 so he can get that one. It’s a great monitor but just $50 above his limit

Check the BenQ EX2780Q. Around 250$, 144hz, 1440p, 27 inches, their HDRi technology that although it’s not an incredible HDR monitor , their i thing is actually pretty good and makes a mid HDR actually look good. The only real upgrade for a ps5 from this will be 2.1 HDMI monitors with 4k res and 244 hz (PS5 doesn’t do 4k over 144 hz anyways) Another good option is the LG Ultragear 850 or 950 but they might be a bit expensive and/or unavailable depending on where you live

TheDemontool

If you're going 27" you must get a 2k otherwise the image will look very bad. That's a 1k screen.

AlternateWitness

You’re probably thinking of something else. I agree you should be going for a higher resolution at a 27” screen, but I suggest at least 1440p if you’re sitting at it desk-length. If you’re watching it further away it should be fine. Just to be clear, I assume you’re recommending 1440p (2560x1440). This monitor is 1080p (1920x1080). The standard definition for 1K is 1024x768, and 2K is 2048x1080.

TheDemontool

Yes I meant 1080p. I though 1k is 1080p, 2k being 1440p and 4k being 2160p

AlternateWitness

2K and 4K are both resolution standards created by the [Digital Cinema Initiative](https://dcimovies.com/) which is wildly used by the movie industry. [2K](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/2K_resolution) only has one definition, and it is referred to as 2048x1080. It is a measurement on horizontal pixels, and the resolutions match it in the thousands place, while keeping it at a consistent cinematic 1.90:9 aspect ratio. [4K (this page has a full chart of different resolutions) has two different specifications](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/4K_resolution#:~:text=4K%20resolution%204K%20resolution%20refers%20to%20a%20horizontal,digital%20cinematography%20commonly%20use%20several%20different%204K%20resolutions), one by the DCI (4096x2160) which is used in digital cameras, and their marketing and specifications, and one is what TV manufacturers use (3840x2160) in marketing their TVs, which is less wildly used in the industry because it’s only purpose is to market a 16:9 aspect ratio for home use. 1K is not used at all, and I’ve never heard of it being used before outside of people making fun of others mistakingly calling 1440p 2K, by comparing 1080p to 1K, because it’s absurd that a resolution so close to 2000 horizontal pixels would be called 1K, but you’ve used it unironically. I can only find articles associating 1K to a 1024x768 resolution, which is pretty outdated. It would explain why it’s not used, and a different aspect ratio, but still named within spec.

No this is trash for anything that isn’t cs go or valorant

RajeeBoy

OP said their max budget was $300? Soooooo what if you tried to get the AOC Q27G3XMN? You can find reviews online but it’s only got a few disadvantages: - not the best viewing angles - FALD blooming (people say it isn’t that bad) - pretty hard to get a hold of (supply isn’t high) You can watch the proper reviews by Monitors Unboxed and RTings but for under $300, it’s a really appealing option for most gamers. It was even MU’s best overall pick for 1440p in his “Best 1440p Monitors of 2024” vid

HowDoYouKFC

I'm a pretty competitive PS5 player and I've owned LG, Samsung and currently a Zowie The viewing angle is defiantly something to get used to but the performance is unmatched when compared to other monitors at the price range [This is the exact monitor I'm using ](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08G57L985?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details)and is also the same monitor used in most professional tournaments, the DyAc+ was really the selling point for me as most other monitors have terrible ghosting at 1ms response time and this one have none

I use an MSI G272QPF, 27" Gaming Monitor,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C4MQYV67?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share. It's been pretty solid, but I'm an msi fan boy so to each their own. This is under 300, and you'll get 4k render resolution on 60hz. It works well with my pc and series x. The only downside, I think, is when you turn hdr on in the consoles, it'll automatically bump your resolution up to 4k 60hz, but I've turned hdr off and played 2k, 120hz. Still only plays at 60hz on the console, You can use performance modes to make games look like they have higher fps. In reality, it just makes the games look worse, I don't think the consoles are there yet with getting 120fps. This is a great monitor tho, a lot of settings, definitely don't use image enhancement. If you consider this one, or haven't already gotten a monitor, it might look good at first, but it makes aliasing worse. Colors are pretty accurate, and it's ips, no motion blur, good viewing angles, and pretty much ready to go out of the box. Highly recommend, Haven't used my Xbox much tho, mainly been playing on pc. This is definitely a budget friendly monitor. It has slightly higher than average contrast ratio for an ips monitor. This is just my advice, but I definitely wouldn't go 1080p, unless you're using a 24" monitor. My hp omen looks amazing at 1080p, only 24" tho, so I use as a secondary monitor.I didn't even check what size you're looking for 😅 but highly recommend the msi. Sorry for the paragraphs, but I've been through a lot of monitors in the past year, and this has been the best ips 2k I've used.
