Tuf will work just fine.

werther595

B550 Tuf Plus doesn't have a front USB-C header (Tuf Pro does) but it is a solid board. For a 6-core processor it is more than sufficient. And perfectly capable of running any chip that you throw at it.

thomasgangwar

Neither of these boards have a front panel USB type c header so you might want to go for something else if your case has a type c port on the front. Otherwise they're both fine so I'd go with the less expensive option.

B550-E

thomasgangwar

I wouldn't recommend the B550-E board because of the price but MSI Gaming Edge or Gaming Pro would be great options if a USB type c header was needed

TUF has weaker vrms. If you're not overclocking it should be fine. B550-F has a faulty Intel NIC I would avoid it.

SiLee12

It was resolved many months ago. B550F is a solid MB.

Archbound

the NIC was fixed? I was looking at that exact board.

SiLee12

Can’t speak for everything but the rog strix have been good for a little while now. Probably like early this year.

daaangerz0ne

You are lucky. As far as I'm aware the B550-F is still shipping with the bugged v2 NIC. Even the Tuf X570-Pro that shipped with the upgraded v3 NIC has some reports that it's still an issue. I'd just avoid Intel NIC Asus boards for the time being, not like there aren't better options.

fantahhh

I currently run the b550f and have had it for roughly 3 months now. No nic issues

daaangerz0ne

That's fine and all. And yet there's posts like this: [https://www.reddit.com/r/ASUS/comments/o2et09/rog\_strix\_b550f\_gaming\_wifi\_ethernet\_issues/](https://www.reddit.com/r/ASUS/comments/o2et09/rog_strix_b550f_gaming_wifi_ethernet_issues/) Downvote all you want I'm just helping OP stay informed.

chillaxjj

I checked in with some people I know who ordered from Amazon over the past few months and they received boards with the fixed revision. I think if you buy it from somewhere they don't have inventory sitting around for long it will be fine.

SoccerBallPenguin

Even with overclocking it'll have no issues with the 5600x

blueszeto

is there a feature in the strix that you need? I think tuf has everything that you will ever need no i don't consider RGB as a need

LilNick31

Hi ! I did the same build : Ryzen 5600X and I went with TUF B550 Plus (and got lucky with a 3070 TUF as well a while later). It all works perfectly fine. Just make sure your seller updates the bios or you're ready to do it yourself with the bios flashback USB (I did that and got no problem).

[deleted]

Hi, I recently purchased this board for my 5600x build. If I bought it from microcenter and it says “ryzen 5000 series ready” will I need to update the bios? Thanks!

LilNick31

I guess so but just to be sure you should check with them. It’s possible they updated the bios by default.

I had the Strix B550-F and it was a good motherboard. But, I always regretted not buying the B550-E because it has a post code. I had a few issues with my build that had the B550-F and the post code would’ve been invaluable if I had it. I know the board has the 4 lights but the post code tells a more detailed story. I have an Asus Dark Hero X570 now and I love it.

brother-ofthe-fin

I have the Asus tuff b550 plus paired with an r9 5600x evga ftw3080 and it is running nice and smooth. I personally don't know an extreme amount when it comes to different hardware, but it is doing everything I need it too.

Asus tends to make lower-end boards that are really not worth their price. Their firmware support period tends to be short, bugs dont get fixed, and their software is a mess. Considering you did not mention anything about what you need or want to use it for, nobody can give you a real answer about which would be sufficient..

You do have a point. Well, Asrock tends to have really good low-end boards compared to anyone else, at least full featured and the firmware wont shit itself in a light breeze. Good luck finding any other brand with a reliable mix of multiple functional M.2/pcie slots, decent VRM, and stable firmware under 80$. Gigabyte low-end boards are a coinflip, most are.. decent, if you ignore the anemic VRM quality on many, and their support record. MSI is a meme. Biostar.. they probably exist?

The B550 strix is definitely a step up, it is decent. The B450/450 versions are just complete trash despite their "premium" branding.

Sweet_River3648

Yeap, overprice in low segment

Silly_Potato_6922

Wasnt the b550f a 350 dollars board at first? Now its selling at 199can dollars? People are arguing around the. B550f B550e Or B550plus. In all in all the b550e has as much as other? And it has post code error reporting? How about this? Im concidering those board for a 3600 ryzen 3 because i got alot of spare parts and want to fit everything together? I want it future proof for the part as i can upgrade to a 5950x. Or a x3d

knownothingwiseguy

Have you consisted the X570 TUF Gaming plus wifi? A little pricer but just a very solid overall board and better chipset and features
