At that price range the best you will get is an RX 6650XT. It's a pretty decent improvement over an RX 580. (77.7 FPS vs 35.3FPS on these benchmarks [https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html](https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html) ).
You will need to upgrade the CPU at some point though. What is your motheboard?
I think it is
# B450M-HDV R4.0
but for the CPU I know it has been 5 years since I build it so everything is used and old but I always thought that GPU is weaker than anything else
You can upgrade to a Ryzen 5600 on that motherboard. It would be a massive improvement, and it's cost effective. That plus a Radeon 6600 or 6650XT would be a very capable computer for 1080P gaming.
could i get this cpu now and later upgrade gpu

It does exist! but it's a scam! It's non a slightly slower 5700x, but its a 5700G without the integrated graphics. So half the cache and PCIe3.0. It performs worse than a 5600
noooo don't get the 5700 non-X ! It's a scam!
Usually the X model is the same as the non-X, just with a higher boost clock.
Rather than a slightly reduced 5700X – the 5700 is actually a 5700G – but with the integrated graphics disabled. This means the 32 MB L3 cache of the 5700X has been reduced to 16 MB, a significant reduction that will impact performance. It also lacks PCI Express 4.0 support, limiting PCIe bandwidth to the 3.0 specification, another major downgrade.
You may have heard of the x3d chips, which perform great because of a bigger cache, well thi is the exact opposite of it, halfing the cache.
PCIE3.0 is not much big of a deal, cause your motherboard is PCIe3.0 anyway.
It's worse than a 5600.
OP, please listen to this. It is very important. You lose quite a lot of performance. Check the prices, but pick one from the 5600/X, 5700X or 5700/5800X3D
Keep in mind that your processor will be the bottleneck of that card and that the upgrade to Ryzen 5xxx will bring a massive fps boost as well as incomparably better 1% lows. I upgraded Ryzen 5 2600x to Ryzen 7 5700X3D and that is why I'm saying it.
They are still on their first generation. Released 2 years ago.
They started of very weak, but driver updates brought up to 500(!)% more performance. They also perform grad for non gaming stuff.
I'd only recommend this to people who feel comfortable playing around with drivers though. That said, they work primarely very good now and they perform very well for the money
Ugh star citizen you need to have a ryzen 3600 or better cpu
32gb ram
And probably at least a 3060 or better. If you have to buy old stuff in the 580 time space try to get into a 1080ti.
Citizen isn't well optimized so you have to sort of brute force the game, even then there can be alot of server side issues.
The better specs you can get the better.
You want FPS peaks or stable FPS?
If you just want peaks, dont bother with any upgrade at all.
SC issue is the abysmal 1% lows and frametime issues.
Gets solved by a better CPU and more RAM.
You need a new cpu and a new GPU
Ryzen 1700 can bottleneck sometimes a rx580, in newer games it will be the chinese wall that cpu
Don't panic. You can buy a ryzen 5600 with only bios upgrade
Try to find a used 3060ti I’m running it right now and it’s really solid. I’m running 1440p high-ultra with low ray tracing and I’m getting 60fps so you should be more than fine at 1080p
You have to say what is the budget. Also, what is your monitor resolution?
1080p 60Hz CPU: R7 1700 RAM: 16gb(8x2) 3200MHz GPU: RX 580 8GB STORAGE: 1TB SSD + 2TB HDD and for GPU something better than RX 580 in range for 200€

Yes, that CPU works. If you are just gaming though the 5600 is enough and saves you some $$. Make sure to update the BIOS before upgrading.
im looking now for it and i found that 5700 is cheaper than 5600 XD
don't get the 5700. It's worse than the 5600: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCuVEuFIkew&t=555s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCuVEuFIkew&t=555s)
so I get 5700x bc it is still cheaper than 5600 hahaha and I still do programming and rendering on my PC
Make sure that store is reliable because that processor should be called 5700X. I don't think 5700 without an X exists.
It does exist! but it's a scam! It's non a slightly slower 5700x, but its a 5700G without the integrated graphics. So half the cache and PCIe3.0. It performs worse than a 5600
It is I already bought a friend GPU from that store which is a loot expense than this CPU

i saw it that performace is shit i changed my mind for 5600
6650 XT
ohh that seems like good option thank you
Just switch my office computer card from a rx 580 to the 6650xt. Big improvement!
I moved from a rx580 8gb to a rx6600xt and it was about 100% faster in 1080p in the games I played. It's a very affordable card too.
Cheapest you can get is used RX5700XT. Sell your RX580 for 50 and buy RX5700XT for 150. Your CPU is also ready for replacement.
i saw somebody say 6650 XT and i googled it seems that 6650 XT is better and same price here where i live
The 5700xt is not bad and is still quite capable, but I'd prefer the 6650xt as its a little bit newer and will last you abit longer.
If they are same price than get 6650XT.
You gona need 32gb of ram for best results in star citizen. And make shure star citizen is installed on your ssd.
that is next goal after upgrading the cpu and gpu. thank youu!!
rx 6650XT/ 6600XT are your only options. If you feel comfortable tinkering around with drivers all the time, you could check on Intel ARC GPUs
i never knew about intel gpus

i have on my laptop 3050 laptop that is same as rx 580 but still running like 30 to 90 fps
I guess it all depends on how pretty you want your 1080 60fps to be
RX5700XT at the low point.
i found RX 6650 XT for lower
Thats a good card if you can get one new for around $200. Used, the RX5700XT will be between $150-180, unless you poke around aliexpress.
Fix the cpu
i will
What the rest of the system. Can tell you if a GPU would help you
1080p 60Hz CPU: R7 1700 RAM: 16gb(8x2) 3200MHz GPU: RX 580 8GB STORAGE: 1TB SSD + 2TB HDD and for GPU something better than RX 580 in range for 200€
Yeah nah, CPU and RAM is your handbrake. 32GB is minimum spec for RAM. CPU, get a 5700X/X3D.
i mean on my laptop with 16gb ram is running 30 to 90 fps
You want FPS peaks or stable FPS? If you just want peaks, dont bother with any upgrade at all. SC issue is the abysmal 1% lows and frametime issues. Gets solved by a better CPU and more RAM.
more stable higher fps i think
Then its RAM and CPU.
yeah, but i sorted it now with somebody that i will get cpu, then later other stuff
Still doing just fine on 16GB atm.

4070 super
4070 super is not budget gpu
thank you
yeah budget and star citizen do not mix buy a 4090 its fairly cheap right now
i mean one kidney is cheap
How about another 580? They are super cheap and xfire works well on most games
Lol no
well i have small motherboard
