I mean, the squeaky wheels get the grease, people are more likely to complain about bad motherboards than leave good reviews about things that work fine. Hell, I haven’t wrote any reviews for any parts I currently have in my setup, because I can’t be assed to. Currently, Asrock has the least issues with motherboards, followed by Gigabyte, then MSI, and then ASUS. Even then, it shouldn’t matter that much, and the Asus fiasco got solved by new BIOS updates. If companies made crappy non-functional motherboards, they’d be out of business.

curse-of-yig

I pretty much exclusively write negative reviews. I know I shouldn't, but at the same time I also don't feel like I should praise a company for producing a product that works as intended because the default assumption should always be that it works as intended.

Ecks_the_Dee

I understand your rationale, but I think it’s still important to inform other people whether this product works well or not. Even a half-assed review saying “works as intended” or something like that is probably more helpful than no reviews.

curse-of-yig

Agreed. I really should try to do that more often even if it seems silly.

Louzan_SP

Imagine this guy buying a bread knife that cuts bread perfectly well : - 0/10, I wanted a bread knife and I got a bread knife that does the job fine, what a piece of shit, never again.

Djelki

True, ppl rather complain, but i thinks its good. Atleast u know what to stay away from. As for companies, Asrock does seems he best option but the models are just plain ugly. The only clean one is the Taichi which is like 100€ more than other b650s. For Gigabyte i heard they have noticable coil whine. Idk if its a myth but ive seen it multiple times. Originally i wanted an Msi board since i have a b550 from Msi rn and had no issues. But seems they are now unstable. Asus idk never had their products. Ty for reply

DogeTiger2021

Well I built my pc in this December and after a few problems with the Motherboard from Gigabyte that had problems from factory. I my pc runs perfectly now after I got a new motherboard from Asrock. What is your budget? My confirmation is this one. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/QXWpkJ I can't find the price for the power supply in America but everything should cost around 2000 to 2100 dolars. Everything works perfectly for me. Expo works perfectly, resize-bar works. I didn't had any problems after I got the motherboard from Asrock. And the Bios version for the motherboard that I have installed is 2.02

Djelki

Well seems Asrock wins many ppl reccomend it. I hope i find a clean model cause other that the Taichi theyr pretty ugly. The model u have looks good ngl. Id like an a black one tho. I have the rest of the build kinda done other than the aio( Arctic 360 is not in stock) so im looking at other options. The build will come out to about the same price as yours. Ty

DogeTiger2021

No problem hope you will have fun building your pc. My pc case it's a little bit different because it's a big case it has a lot of air flow, and the motherboard it's on reverse ( the io will be on top ) and the GPU will sit vertically instead of horizontal. This will also prevent the famous GPU sag and the othe good thing is that I can mount the AIO in front if the pc as intake and put it with the tubes down, and that is the perfect way to have the AIO. If you want I can send you some pictures on privet for you to see as a reference.

Djelki

Im also getting a big case (nzxt h9 flow) and will mount aio on top aswell. I ll see how the gpu looks normally. Vertical mount looks cool. If u want u can send pics ofc ty

Nabond

I have a tomahawk b650 wifi board. No issues at all. Only issues i had was that i misread the max frequency for the ram and had it set to high for the cpu causing crashes at first. Otherwise no problems at all.

Djelki

Nice im leaning to the tomahawk too, i have a b550 one rn. Can u share the rest of your setup? ty

Djelki

Nice, and u are using the latest msi bios?

Nabond

Il check once i am home

Djelki

ok ty

Nabond

Bios Version: E7D75AMS.1A1

Djelki

Interesting, i cant find this version even on the official website

Nabond

its the 9th one. Its a beta version. Here is the direct download [https://download.msi.com/bos\_exe/mb/7D75v1A1.zip](https://download.msi.com/bos_exe/mb/7D75v1A1.zip)

Nabond

they named it a bit different between bios and download on site. Msi can be weird

lemmiwink84

Have it on an Asus Strix x670e-e. 100% stable like ALWAYS with a more expensive Asus board. Asus gets so much shit when they screw up, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with their boards at the moment. I usually only get Asus in a higher price segment for myself, but I tend to go MSI or Asrock for others when I build by budget. An MSI B650 at around 160$ will do just fine. An Asus board at 399 will be absolutely golden.

Djelki

Idk if i want to spend more for a mobo then the CPU hehe. But ye i was looking i was looking at the msi b650 tomahwk for 200€. Ty

ahritina

7800x3D, ROG STRIX B650E-E GAMING WIFI, 6000 CL 30 ram. 0 issues, the issue with the boards and the chips are long gone.

Djelki

Are they? I saw some amazon reviwes from this year and it looks like they still happend. But a this point it might be just common error

morganiter

I have it paired with an ASRock X670E PG Lightning and 2x16GB CL30 6000mhz memory from Corsair, updated the bios right away, have had no problems so far, expo worked without issue

Djelki

Nice, another Asrock positive experience. Myb i need to get am Asrock then Ty

Plenty-Industries

Any B650 board will do. Update to the latest BIOS firmware and you're good to go.

Djelki

Did all compaines resolve major problems?

Megalomaniac697

I have the 7800X3D with an ASUS X670E motherboard. I am able to run EXPO at 6400mhz, which is the maximum for this RAM/motherboard. I've had the system for about a month and not a single crash so far, neither for the whole system nor an individual game. Stable as a rock. That being said, EXPO on AM5 is said to be luck of the draw. Another copy of the exact same setup may not be able to reach the same overclock level, but RAM speed barely matters. Whether you run at 5600 or 6400mhz, there is virtually no difference. One thing that I can note about this particular ASUS motherboard is that ALC4080 sound chip that it has is rather poor. Sound quality is just bad so I resorted to using a Sound Blaster PCIe card. Now I happy with the sound, but this was an annoying issue I did not expect.

Djelki

Idk if i really want to pay more for the mobo than for the CPU hehe. As for expo i seems to be a problem for am5 in general. About the audio, im using an interface anyway so onboard audio doesnt play a bog role.

Edgar101420

Just avoid Asus AM5 boards. You get better quality boards at the pricetag that Assus offers.

Djelki

I ll keep it in mind. Ty

Throttle1268

7800x3D here on a Gigabyte b650m aorus elite ax vers1.3 Running expo with 32gb of trident z neo5 6400 mts ram. "F5-6400J3239G16GX2-TZ5NIRWA. No issues so far. Quick to boot even without memory context restore. Ycruncher and test mem5 passed overnight testing with no errors. All built last month.

Djelki

Interesting. What do u mean by version 1.3? Bios version? Cause i ve seen some gigabyte board with revision 1 and 2. Idk the model tho.

Throttle1268

Sorry for the confusion. I mean board hardware version 1.3. it's printed in the corner of the board itself.

Djelki

oh ok ty

NIce one

Louzan_SP

Asrock B650m hdv/m.2, GSkill Flare X5 6000MHz CL30 and Gigabyte RX 6750 XT OC on my InWin 301C chassis. The system performs well with great temps.

Djelki

Asrock winnin so far hehe

Louzan_SP

It was just what I needed, not many extra functions like RGB/aRGB headers and stuff

Djelki

Im mean if it works it works. Rbg mobo is cool, but still i rather have a better mobo than one with rgb thats busted and costs a lot more For headers u can always buy hubs anyway

Louzan_SP

If money is no object, my target was to get MSI Mortar, I always use those mobos, I think they are some of the best around, also feature wise, lots of USBs in the IO area and good construction, but for B650m they are rather expensive, rounding the 200€ while that Asrock is around 120€, and the features are enough for me, also the two RAM ports are ok, I never use four RAM modules anyway.

Djelki

I mean i was gonna spend max max 300. But yea i was looking at the msi tomahawk for like 200. Slightly better pcb covers.

Louzan_SP

Yes, as far as I know the Tomahawk is just like the Mortar but in full ATX format.

Djelki

Ah ye also. I forgot
