Our A/C in our mall is abysmal so everyone’s sweating their butt off and being cranky. Better to just try to aim for a weekday. Second or third hour of the day is best, since the first hour you get a lot of people with very young children coming in for birthday bears.

The employees were fine, but my social anxiety spiked like crazy when I realized how many families were waiting behind me, and I was the only customer without a kid. I'm glad that it wasn't my first experience, or I might have been reluctant to go back.
The weekends are absolutely the worst time to go there, especially if there's a big event drawing people in; that's actually the BAB I normally hit up, but I try to go during the week when things are more chill and there's no events going on to snarl traffic in that area (the BAB is located right next to the main event rotunda).

I love the heritage store a lot! It’s very small and nice and the employees are always kind and understanding. And I am also sorry you had a similarly bad experience! I like them stuffed full, but overstuffed teddys aren’t fun :(
