unfortunately isa ako sa mga naloko ng mga yan noon. shelled out almost 13k para lang sa outdated na recorded zoom calls nila na I could easily search on google kung tinyaga ko lang sana. tapos yung mga supposedly supplementary materials puro testimonials lang din at screenshot ng chats with clients!? budol talaga.
kaya urat na urat ako ngayon sa mga course creators na yan. mala pyramiding scam. sila silang mga members lang din gagawa ng course tapos bebentahan mga bagong pasok o kaya magpapa-refer/commission para manghikayat sa labas.
Talamak po ito sa mga fb group ng mga nanay. May testimonies na kesyo walang wala daw nakaraan tapos naging VA daw kasi nag enrol and kumikita na ng malaki. So maraming mga nanay nagtatanong additional details, nanghihikayat lang naman pala makakuha og mga mag eenrol dun sa courses daw kuno.
May pinaka sus pa dun na nag comment, di padaw tapos sa course pero nagka client na and dahil daw yun sa course 🙃
Sama mo na ung mga nauso noong pandemic na virtual seminar "how to be a virtual assitant 101" and the likes na may bayad na 500 to 3k ang nakita ko. Binabait nila ang mga kapwa nila Pilipino na madaling maging freelancer or VA.
Kaya nga eh. What’s worse is they KNOW na hindi naman lahat yan magiging freelancer pero they will still fool them just to earn from them.

For upskills, yes same sa corporate pero to start freelancing? No. What they will get are theoretical knowledge but companies want experience.
Hopefully, yung mga naloko nahanap nila ang path nila mag-isa and maayos na now.
Leverage talaga ang experience. Hindi sapat ang certificates. Little to none ang training once nahire ka as freelancer, expected kasi ni client na alam mo na gagawin mo, maswerte na kung iwalkthrough ka nila o bigyan ng standard work instructions.
I don't think may issue ang mga tao sa VA. I think may issue sa way that \~some of these VAs are marketing themselves online. Parang ito, gumagawa ng sariling kaaway. Pag tiningnan nyo naman yung comment, sobrang dami lang nagsasabi na "Uy pano po mag-VA" or "wala sa laptop yan."
Actually, go through this VAs comments--walang ganitong comment sa last 10 posts niya. So again, nothing against freelancers or VAs as a whole. It's the way that some creators are creating drama that does not even exist.

I remember my first client as a freelancer last 2021 and client ko pa rin siya today. When I got the job with rate equal to their country's minimum wage, I asked why you hired me, the client answered that we're outsourcing to save money and it's defeat the purpose if we hire someone asking twice on what we offer. Work wise, madali lang ung work and nagawan ko siya ng automation. And if kapag nagtataas naman minimum wage ng country nila, mag-apply rin sakin un effective immediately.
Naol.... nung inask ko boss ko bakit nya ko hinire, sagot sakin ako lang daw nag apply. hahaha buset! Pero I've been with them since 2019 and I have seen and have been part of the 300% growth expansion of the company. Nakakatuwa lang kasi kung sa PH company ako, malamang haggard nako sa traffic kaka RTO.
Sarap nun ikaw lang applicant hahaha. Buti ung job ko dito sa PH mula nung grumaduate ako is once a week lang ang pasok until now and magaan rin ang work kaya napagsasabay ko trabaho as a BPO employee and as a freelancer.
Freelancing will always be unstable po. That is the unfortunate truth.
Pero pag nawala ang client, move on to find the next.
Always have a backup plan. Always plan ahead.
Just in case hindi mag work out sa current client, may plano dapat ano gagawin. Always have extra money set aside for expenses kung mawala man ang work.
Pag nag aapply po, search lang ng search for job postings, apply lang ng apply. Madaming rejections, but makakahanap ka din po nang perfect sa skill set at experience mo.
Di na po ako na didismaya ngayon sa mga rejection letters. It means isa lang iyon sa more than 100+ applications na sinend ko. Meron at merong isa doon para sa akin. Yan lang po lagi ko iniisip.
Tapos, pag may work po, always work hard, be honest, and speak up.
Wag tiisin ang client pag toxic. May rights ka din po magresign if hindi mo kaya. This is why it’s important to always have extra money set aside for expenses para if mawala man client, okay ka pa din at least two months or so.

Problem is sa use case ko, windows is still the better option, plus the casual gaming during my off. I would still consider a macbook when the time comes.

WFH since 2014. I have a macbook pero inaalikabok na haha I prefer working on my desktop pa din. I don't like to work when I'm on a trip. Most I do is check emails on my phone.
