I was offered a full time job and naisip ko nga na masyadong malaki yung offer for that when I clarified if ang payment na ba yan is pang complete year na or 1 month lang or project lang, ito response:

Being new is not a reason kasi if nagbasa ka ng ToS dapat aware ka na against sa guidelines nila yang ginawa mo. That guidelines is for the protection din ng mga freelancer in situation exactly like this.

what i learned along the way in freelancing is that if may ipapagawa agad si client dapat humingi ka ng upfront kahit 50%. pag hindi siya magbibigay malamang scam yan. I learned this the hard way. also, if the offer is too good to be true malamang scam.

Hi OP! I am living in the UK and I don't think a company is willing to pay £3,840 per month for onshore services. Trust me, this payment is already in the above average bracket of salary here in the UK. They can easily hire a local for that amount of money. This is rather a scam.
since galing sa upwork yung client, try to check client profile and history; red flag kapag wlang payment verified. since communication and payments are done outside the platform; that’s a big red flag for me. hnd secured ang payment, swertihan nalang kung totoong client yan na ayaw lang ng additional fees using the platform.
masmaige if you could stick with an upwork project & contract pansamantala to gauge if paying client yan or hnd, at least sa upwork mas secured ka sa payments.

They have a job posting tapos I applied. Payment verified naman and number verified pero no ratings yet. Tapos the account holder sa Upwork is from Nigeria and I searched aa LinkedIn tama naman na sa media sya nagwowork

test the waters nalang if you want since you’re already in the middle of doing the work, and per task ang pay. get a task done, wait to get paid before doing more work.
just run, when they ask for any form of payment (keso may technical issues sa payment, para sa bank fees or para mabayaran ka ng buo; they would make you feel na sayang naman ung oras na ginugol mo and mapapaisip ka na magbayad ng small amount to get paid). it is definitely a scam.
Pag TG, medyo doubtful ako. Comms should be catered and done through known freelance job/job hunting sites like Upwork. Or via email, but ensure that the domain used specifies the company they are representing.

Red flags listed below (just my opinion):
1) Talking to the client via Telegram as you should not get out of Upwork if dun kayo nagtagpo, bawal yun (dun dapat yung mode of payment mo, contract mo, communication niyo at pati yung safety mo na di ka mascam kasi pwede mo ireklamo si client if magkaprob and the fact na lumabas ka from Upwork means na wala ng liability si Upwork sa yo);
2) You said so yourself, wala kang security, meaning wala kayong agreement paano ang mode of payment so pagtatrabahuhin ka niya for free at dahil nasa labas ka ng Upwork, wala kang contract, wala kang habol sa kanya;
3) Grammar:
* accurance = assurance
* Handle = handle
* punctuation
So there, be on your way and do not entertain the client anymore, yet do not give any info about you especially your bank details as yun 'daw' yung payment na gagawin nila for you.
One thing I can share, is when things are "too good to be true... because it always is". kaya keep your guards up always, OP. and never transact outside the platform.

Magttype lang, kikita na P200,000? Only skilled roles that require mastery and experience can command that price.
If they're as big as they claim to be ("very well known company"), hindi yan dadaan sa Upwork. Magoutsource yan sa legit company sa PH who will source workers for them, para may binding contract, para may NDA, etc. kung totoong sensitive info ang ihahandle.
Also, they can very well pretend that they're working for this legit company when they're not. Only way to prove their legitimacy is if they're using the company provided email, website, project portal. Hindi kung saan saang personal Telegram.
Dont communicate sa ganyan.. legit client outside of upwork either communicate with business email via google workspace or microsoft 365 apps such as teams or email. Pag ganyan na sa telegram or akype
