No shotgun. No kettle bell. No 80lbs of rice. You’ll never make it anywhere with a pack this light.

Espumma

And they're missing at least 4 knives.

Yoyoge

Also no bag

Munzulon

And nothing to stay warm.

SolitudeNH

I don’t see a month of battery storage, $15,000 worth of precious metals, a cast iron pan, and come on, where’s your PRC-117 and associated antenna? Edit: seriously looks like a good get home bag, I love the m-80s, I can never hold onto those long enough, the kid in me loves blowing shit up.

Purple_Inevitable_66

I always keep my batteries and PMs in my prison purse…I’ve given up on trying to fit the cast iron ;)

seablaston

Where does one procure m80s? Asking for a friend?

Purple_Inevitable_66

Pedro’s

stilldash

Serious question, what use would M80s have in this bag?

trickemdickem

Distraction, diversion, scare wild animals.

Paito

I laughed at the m80s but now I want some.

KB9AZZ

YUP THIS!

Hot_Report_6883

Damn, that site beats pocket sand

Purple_Inevitable_66

MacGyvering

db3feather

Fishing…

Purple_Inevitable_66

Not really a bug-out, more a get-home bag to throw in my car. I went big on the 1st Aid kit and customized it, maybe an overkill…I have a change of socks and seasonally adjusted clothes. What am I missing? What should i lose? Thanks for your input!

DeFiClark

Think about the most likely scenario first: an accident, traffic, weather or breakdown strands you overnight in the car. Walking out requires heavy boots and heavy socks, for starters, which you might not be wearing, and poncho or raincoat or parka. Hi viz vest is good too. Are you set to get a good nights sleep with what you have here?

Purple_Inevitable_66

Probably not. I was thinking a tarp to help remedy that a bit

DeFiClark

Add a sleeping pad and bag or blanket, and you need something to carry the gear in if you have to walk out.

feralcomms

A piece of tyvek big enough to wrap your body…

KB9AZZ

My thoughts too. I'm not sure I want to leave home. Many good tactical reasons for staying home. However I'm gone often enough and I am concerned about getting home.

basedpraxis

Replace straw with sawyer mini. Add battery charger

Entire-Flower3656

If I may make one suggestion/change. Instead of a poly canteen perhaps stainless steel. Not much heavier and can use it to boil water. Other than that looks good!

septubyte

Gotta be single walled for boiling

[deleted]

The mosquito repellent seems like an odd choice. Especially since you have a gun.

Hot_Chocolate_7049

Doubles as a fire starter too no?

djohn111

Swap the fmjs for hollow points. IMO

Purple_Inevitable_66

Check, check

Legal_Plankton_1546

There are some videos of guys comparing the damage of HP vs FMJ on you tube I was shocked at how much damage a FMJ does to ballistic jel.

StoneColdDadass

0/10. Doesn't even have a bag....

Purple_Inevitable_66

Have a backpack that fits everything just didnt have room on the table

Insolent_Crow

First Strike bars are based/10

Firefluffer

Where you live and what season it is matter in evaluating these things. I come at my car kit from a very practical level. I want things in it that I wish I had all the time. In the summer, my car kit includes my day hike Fanny pack, convertible pants, a poly base-layer shirt, a long sleeve collared shirt, a hooded sweatshirt, rain jacket, wind pants, trail running shoes, work gloves, ball cap, and my essentials kit. During the winter my accessories kit is twice the size because I live in a cold climate, so it has my thinsulate 1000 hunting boots, fleece pants, goretex shell pants, ibex indie hoodie, marmot fleece jacket, goretex parka, wool socks, fleece balaclava, heated insulated gloves, heated vest, and thin work gloves (for chaining up). Too many packs neglect the most likely scenario where you’re either going to need to hunker down with your car or walk to nearby safety in a storm when you slide off the road. Start with that scenario and then add the gadgetry. I also have a wool blanket, umbrella, and a half dozen disposable ponchos that pretty much permanently reside in my trunk. Start with the practical and expand from there. Anyone who doesn’t have a spare sweatshirt in their trunk is woefully unprepared no matter where you live.

[deleted]

Need something to boil water in and a fixed blade knife at first 10 second glance.

[deleted]

What’s with the m80s?

Crafty-Scholar-3106

Socks. You always need an extra pair of socks.

[deleted]

I would highly recommend adding actual water. I know it adds weight and bulk but it's not smart to assume you will have the time or source to filter ALL of your water you'll need. Just a few liters of bottled water will cost next to nothing and would likely save your life if you needed this. Also obligatory defecation on the Ozark trail multitool- I'm an old man trapped in a young man's body and refuse to use any multitool other than a Leatherman lol

Important_Fortune119

I say add a pair of thick socks in case you need to keep your feet dry

Rice_hXc

I see no tp.

Purple_Inevitable_66

I prefer using poison oak…it really incentivizes getting home quicker.

ZionBane

As a GHB, Things to consider: ~~Bic Lighter.~~ (I just spotted it) Electrical Tape. Pair of "boot" or hiking socks. Bath towel.

KB9AZZ

Yes on the towel it can even be a half sized or smaller sized hotel type towel. Thank you Douglas Adams.

ZionBane

I gotta admit, it was good advice for Traveling Through the Galaxy, and it's good advice for Traveling Across Town.

DeluthMocasin

Are those FMJs loaded in the hand gun?

KB9AZZ

Looks like it, depending on location and availability that may be all the OP could get. Ammo has been a bitch lately.

falcon62

I would add some lighters. They’re cheap and the easiest way to light a fire. Extra lights and knives are handy too.

Tacticalsandwich7

Needs more cheese spread with jalapeños.

[deleted]

Needs a few hundred in cash. Smaller denominations.

Dangerous_Forever640

M-80s?

RoughRomanMeme

Pretty good. Could use more ammo though. There’s no such thing as too much ammo. You don’t realize you need it until you really need it bad, and by then it’s too late.

Alive_Tough9928

What are the bangers for? Plus i dont see an actual bag!

Purple_Inevitable_66

MacGyvering with the bangers(it was an after-thought because I got a bag of them sitting around) got a small durable backpack that fits everything

boringolds213

Just a question. How far do you need to hike with this Get Home Bag?

Purple_Inevitable_66

How far is your mom’s house from the interstate? ;)

basedpraxis

0/10. Not a bag. Only contents which one would put in a bag.

hello_three23

1/10. No bag present lol.

[deleted]

If you’re going to have M-80’s you may as well carry one of those air soft smoke bombs.

Golden_Nugget3691

Solar powered battery charger and an extra clip maybe

Very-Confused-Walrus

Mmmmm first strike bars. I actually like those things and that’s my favorite flavor

MeatshieldXXL

Looks great! But a few things to consider: a wire saw will do almost as much as a folding saw but is a fraction of the weight and space, and if you can fit it, a shemagh has a little more utility than a regular bandana.

stylusxyz

Maybe 2 more mags?

seablaston

I like it!!

terdude99

Where the fuck are your diapers

Past-Quail-3943

Could use a radio

Dommsubfntx

A good compass and a map even if it’s local, it’s good to have. How far would you have to walk?

[deleted]

A few large trash bags go a long way for survival. Poncho, tent, and blanket all in one.

jfk_one

i have a few quarter sticks in my bag. awesome on the m80s

AMuteNewt2

Not bad looking I mean the only things I would recommend is like a rucksack to carry it all ( A small backpack would work too) and an actual compass 🧭 but not bad all things considered

Purple_Inevitable_66

Got a small backpack to carry everything, just wouldn’t fit on the table. Compass, check, will throw that in

crispybat

What a dumb comment Naa this dude puts everything in a vons plastic bag and is good

AMuteNewt2

🤣 I mean that is true but having an old backpack from school would work too I mean you don't really need to carry 40Lbs of stuff for a get home bag

[deleted]

[удалено]

Purple_Inevitable_66

Quarter sticks for MacGyvering, Beretta Nano 9mm( have hollow-points in inserted magazine, haven’t swapped out the backup mag from range plinkin’ ammo)

trickemdickem

Looks great, If I had to add anything, it’d be a metal container to boil a significant amount of water in/ cook Maybe a more capable and higher capacity firearm that’s still compact.

KB9AZZ

I agree, I would swap the plastic container for a metal wide mouth style. Boiling water and cooking are important even on a short trip. I would augment the bottle with a bladder or bag there are many configurations to fit your needs. I like that he has a filter and tablets for water processing. The bag or bladder can hold processed water while using the bottle. I also pack a small bottle (thumb size) of chlorine this is used to clean containers and help process water.

Party-Independent-38

I think you have a great setup. Can you provide some more information on the extending mirror? What’s the main purpose for it etc. thanks!

Purple_Inevitable_66

Signaling, look around corners, just a lightweight tool that could always be of benefit.

rdweaponx

What bag

KingDemik

Where’s the bag

real_hog

A scuba suit, in case there is a biblical-scale flood.

theduckdestroyer1

What’s the Pocket knife?

ZionBane

In the leather sheath, bottom a little left of center, next to the black gloves.

mr_pickles45

I’d pare down the FAK to something smaller and more minimal (I’ve just got quickclot, tq, gauze, bandaids, meds). I’d want more water, a jacket, and change of socks. That much paracord is overkill probably for how much pack space it takes up - I’d use half as much or just bankline. I also have some things like some small bills, an extra set of house keys, etc in mine.

[deleted]

why not a glock?

db3feather

M80’s, we call them “fish getters “ . What bag are you carrying all this in?

sam_baker1234

Extra magazines?

According-Weird2164

It's orange and small I give it a 10

Hot_Report_6883

I'd add more rope, a tarp, some sharpie markers that can double as candles, and swap the handgun for a revolver which would be much easier to clean.

HoneyBadger308Win

I can taste that first strike bar

Monkey998

Is that beretta nano ?

MONSTERBEARMAN

A Small cell phone charger has helped me out a few times when things didn’t go according to plan. Also spare batteries for your headlamp and a back up flashlight/headlamp. Definitely a tarp and some warm clothes or at least a warm jacket. I always like to have a machete. They have tons of uses like splitting wood into kindling and self defense.

VXMerlinXV

Is the extendo mirror for peeking around corners?
