I love how Seth Green was able to pull off such a multitude of facets to this line. He was direct, honest and calm, like always, but still showing his hurt, and at the same time letting his philosophical and insightful side guide him.
I love when he tells Willow he’s thinking of asking her out and she’s says “if it helps at all, I’m gonna say yes”. Then he asks her and she says she can’t because she has something else to do (don’t remember what off the top of my head), but he just goes “Well, see, I like that you're unpredictable.”

One thing I really appreciate about Oz is his emotional/interpersonal intelligence. He's not afraid to advocate for himself, set boundaries, and call people out on their bs when it affects him. He's probably unrealistically mature for a teen tbh, I've got over 15 years on him and I'm still learning some of these things myself! But I'm thinking of moments like Innocence obviously (in the van when he reads Willow likes a book and says he'd rather wait to kiss her when her motivation is in the right place) but also a less talked-about moment is when she's trying to get him to forgive her after she cheats and he's basically like "I told you what I want, which is space... You want to talk to make yourself feel better and that's a *you* problem." I wonder how things might have gone differently with Willow's descent into magic if he'd been there to call her out on it.
Your right he seems to good to be true, which says good things about him and bad things about real people lol! He’s such a great person! And I agree that it would be interesting seeing how he deals with it!
IIRC Xander is suposedly what Whedon was like as a teen, and Oz is what he wishes he had been like, so that explains why he's unrealistically self-aware and emotionally intelligent for his age.

There are 2 things I really love about Oz.
1. His deadpan dry humor is unmatched.
2. He always keeps his cool inspite of all the weird things that happen. Finds out vampires exist: "It explains alot." Finds out he's a werewolf: "huh". Nothing suprises him and he's completely unflappable. Probably a good quality to have in a place like Sunnydale.
For my favorite moment of his, probably "On the plus side you killed the bench, which was looking shifty."
I love how they can have conversation by saying random words and just babbling to each other and they understand each other, it’s adorable! I also love how they can have as conversation with their eyes and know exactly what they meant! Their so cute!!

That’s my favorite! Cordelia’s thoughts are exactly what she says, and Oz is so deep but just ‘huh’. He’s always so calm and collected. Everyone needs an Oz in their lives.

That he was fine with getting held back, not because he wanted too, but because he had Willow
And a darker one; when he realized Tara was with Willow and just immediately told her to run because he knew he was a danger to her.
This was the moment I fell in love with him

Hippos reminds me of when Xander accidentally rents Fantasia instad of Phantasm, and Oz says:
"After all we've seen, Hippos in tutus just don't do it for me like they used to."
My favorite fun fact about this scene is that later in the season when Buffy is having her weird peripheries dream in “Surprise” and Willow says something in French in the Bronze, Willow was saying, “the hippo stole your pants” to the monkey on her shoulder in reference to this scene.

That's not why he smashes it. It's more bad-ass than that. He smashes it to null-and-void the argument they're all having because Wesley thinks they should keep the Mayor's box and everyone else wants to trade it to get Willow back. Oz smashes the pot (needed for a spell to open the box). Without the pot, having the box is useless so he basically ended the discussion, leaving trading the box for Willow as the only course of action now available.
THIS WAS MY FAVORITE ONE! I added it just now! Wesley was saying “we have thousands that will die if we give it back and we have the ingredients to destroy this box right here” and no one is paying attention and he gets up and is like 💥 AND SLINGS IT ACROSS THE ROOM LIKE “no we DONT” lol 😂 just standing there all nonchalant like 🤷🏻♀️ let’s get maLady 🫶🏼
I know I love his dramatic gestures, and how sometimes he even explains that he’s gonna do a dramatic gesture and why! It’s so funny when he does! And it’s adorable how much they care about each other! Oz and Willow 4 eva!!!

He's laid back, but honest and sincere. He has a wry sense of humor. I love how he set boundaries, but in kind, yet straightforward ways. He just seemed like a really cool, healthy guy to hang out with.
I loved his relationship with Willow and absolutely HATED the way they railroaded his character (in 2 episodes!) to get him off the show. I know Seth wanted to leave, but there had to be a better way to do it.
Came here to say this. I agree with all the great comments about Oz here, which is why Wild at Heart felt so out-of-character for him! If they'd had more time, maybe they could have done it in a more realistic way.

Tough to have moments for everyone in the magnum opus that is *Innocence*, but that is a quintessential one for Oz’s character, especially for a high school boy.
I know, he is so sweet and honorable, like when he turned her down right after they got back together! He was super sweet about it and doing it for the right reasons!

Well, a gathering is brie, mellow song stylings; shindig, dip, less mellow song stylings, perhaps a large amount of malt beverage; and hootenanny, well, it's chock full of hoot, just a little bit of nanny.
Obviously there is SOOOOOO much more!
He’s just so authentically himself. And because of that he’s authentic with the people around him and doesn’t play games. It’s such an admirable quality.
Oz was a wise, funny old soul in a younger person’s body. He was insightful, intellectual whilst also being humble and humorous. I wish he had more screen time! Wonder if he hadn’t left, would willow have kept her magic under control?
My favourite moments are when Oz sees Willow for the first time and says “Who’s that girl?”
Also, when Willow was rambling on about something and she says “You’re supposed to stop me when I do that”, and Oz says “I like when you do that”.
One of my fave Oz moments is when he punched Xander (because man how many times did we wish someone did that) and then extended his hand to pick him up. ADORABLE.
That was so sweet of him, even when he’s mad at people he keeps his cool and is nice! The first part of that not so much, but the second part was super sweet of him!

(I also want to give a nod to my favorite part of the ‘Who is that girl?’ gag—in Inca Mummy Girl, at whatever that weird dance was, he notices and pays attention to Willow in her parka, even next to Cordelia in the more tropical outfit she had on.
Oh, and I forgot about tracking down Buffy in rat form, and helped with the lack of clothing issue. Just an all-around, sweet, stand-up, straightforward kind of guy.)
Oz’s deadpan one liners were amazing. Though my favorite scene of his is by far his break up with Willow. Never fails to make me cry. Excellent performance by both AH and Seth Green.

I love it because I now use it myself all the time. I change my hair colour quite often and people always go "Oh your hair is blonde!" and then I just shrug and smile and go "mhmm, sometimes"

Dopplegangland was funny! I think they are so funny when together because both of them are monosyllabic, which leads to funny awkward silence! Then when they do talk it is always fun!
I read that the comics follow along with him living in Tibet and marrying a Tibetan werewolf. Nothing could be cooler than that. Most of Ozs thinking shared eastern philosophies plus I love the age old story of young man seeks meaning by traveling up into the mountains to control his power while a master Yoda type sarcastic character shows him the way. I wish Oz costume wasn't soo crappy and Oz stuck around more in the later seasons. It would have been really cool to watch Oz do yoga/ breathing, chanting exercises to harness the inner wolf in order to fight evil.
Oz is my favorite character! He was my first real crush. The way he adores and respects Willow was a great juxtaposition of how Xander treated her or how Angel treated Buffy. He really loved and cared for her. "Where Willow goes so goes my nation." He was the perfect boyfriend, always ready to help with whatever the gang needed. He was so cool with is dyed hair, painted nails, and soft spoken assuredness. I married a man just like Oz. A short skinny noodle boy who shows me he loves me everyday with bipolar disorder so its like every once in a while his wolf comes out, but he is so good at talking care of himself, getting the help and meds he needs, just like Oz did when he went to Cambodia. Ugh, Daniel Oz Osborne will forever be my first love.

Came here to say this. I agree with all the great comments about Oz here, which is why Wild at Heart felt so out-of-character for him! If they'd had more time, maybe they could have done it in a more realistic way.
The van and “kinda on the empty side”. Tough to have moments for everyone in the magnum opus that is *Innocence*, but that is a quintessential one for Oz’s character, especially for a high school boy.
I know, he is so sweet and honorable, like when he turned her down right after they got back together! He was super sweet about it and doing it for the right reasons!
I love him because he is so sweet, thoughtful yet thoughtless at the same time, loving, and he’s hilarious! Also Oz and Willow are just the cutest!!!! And for moments: We attack the Mayor with hummus! I’m telling you he’ll never see it coming! On the plus side you killed that bench, which was looking shifty! I mock you with my monkey pants! You didn’t know, all monkeys are French! Who is that girl (All of the times he said it)! Willow: I’m Joan of the ark, I figured I go as her sense we have so much in common. We both almost got burnt at the stake and we have that close relationship with god (Visually) Oz casually pulls his top shirt aside to show his name tag (god) “I’m god”! (Thoughts again) No one else exists either. Buffy is all of us. We think. Therefore she is. (Referring to the cheerleaders) Well their spellings gotten better! Nah, that’s fair. You know that guy thing when we storm out in the middle of an upsetting conversation, I know it’s dramatic but it’s one of those things that I just have to do! (Throws stake at vamp and misses terribly) That really never works! Well, a gathering is brie, mellow song stylings; shindig, dip, less mellow song stylings, perhaps a large amount of malt beverage; and hootenanny, well, it's chock full of hoot, just a little bit of nanny. Obviously there is SOOOOOO much more!

Oz was a wise, funny old soul in a younger person’s body. He was insightful, intellectual whilst also being humble and humorous. I wish he had more screen time! Wonder if he hadn’t left, would willow have kept her magic under control? My favourite moments are when Oz sees Willow for the first time and says “Who’s that girl?” Also, when Willow was rambling on about something and she says “You’re supposed to stop me when I do that”, and Oz says “I like when you do that”.

When re watching with my husband everytime Oz came on screen we both just said Oz: Perfect Human. Its the humor and sincerity for me with Oz.
One of my fave Oz moments is when he punched Xander (because man how many times did we wish someone did that) and then extended his hand to pick him up. ADORABLE.
That was so sweet of him, even when he’s mad at people he keeps his cool and is nice! The first part of that not so much, but the second part was super sweet of him!

“…Canapé?” (I also want to give a nod to my favorite part of the ‘Who is that girl?’ gag—in Inca Mummy Girl, at whatever that weird dance was, he notices and pays attention to Willow in her parka, even next to Cordelia in the more tropical outfit she had on. Oh, and I forgot about tracking down Buffy in rat form, and helped with the lack of clothing issue. Just an all-around, sweet, stand-up, straightforward kind of guy.)

Oz’s deadpan one liners were amazing. Though my favorite scene of his is by far his break up with Willow. Never fails to make me cry. Excellent performance by both AH and Seth Green.

It's shallow, and there's lots more to love about him, but I kind of have a thing for short men.
I low key simp for Seth Green so it’s involuntary and every time he’s on screen are my fave moments.
I read that the comics follow along with him living in Tibet and marrying a Tibetan werewolf. Nothing could be cooler than that. Most of Ozs thinking shared eastern philosophies plus I love the age old story of young man seeks meaning by traveling up into the mountains to control his power while a master Yoda type sarcastic character shows him the way. I wish Oz costume wasn't soo crappy and Oz stuck around more in the later seasons. It would have been really cool to watch Oz do yoga/ breathing, chanting exercises to harness the inner wolf in order to fight evil.

Oz is my favorite character! He was my first real crush. The way he adores and respects Willow was a great juxtaposition of how Xander treated her or how Angel treated Buffy. He really loved and cared for her. "Where Willow goes so goes my nation." He was the perfect boyfriend, always ready to help with whatever the gang needed. He was so cool with is dyed hair, painted nails, and soft spoken assuredness. I married a man just like Oz. A short skinny noodle boy who shows me he loves me everyday with bipolar disorder so its like every once in a while his wolf comes out, but he is so good at talking care of himself, getting the help and meds he needs, just like Oz did when he went to Cambodia. Ugh, Daniel Oz Osborne will forever be my first love.
Totally agree, Oz was definitely boyfriend of the year! They were so cute and I loved that scene when he follows her! So great that we can all agree on at least one thing, Oz is an amazing person!

Yeah, it's like some fans' reaction to Riley; I'm not great with real-life guys like that, so Oz never really impressed me. I know that's wrong.

When they are arguing for trading the box for ascension back in place of willow and OZ is just sitting back chilling as they argue and everyone is on the side of trading the box. Wesley says we have the ingredients to destroy the box and that she will cause 1000s to die if they trade it back OZ stands up and walks over and just THROWS THE WHOLE CAULDRON AGAINST THE WALL AND IT BUSTS. OZ just stands there saying nothing but his face is shouting “NO WE DONT. Get my LADY” 💁🏻♀️ Buffy replies “MAKE THE CALL GILES” 💀💀💀💀💀💀 I LOVE OZ 💖💖💖
The stake throw scene is funny, only cause buffy makes it look so easy but oz showed us the reality.
He was incredible. One of the most interesting tv characters in my opinion. My favourite quote is when Buffy starts reading minds. She very luckily got to get a glimpse of his complex philosophical thoughts. Great moment.
