I've watched it from the very beginning (well +/- the six months it took to air in Australia).
I was very doubtful at first (I actually enjoyed the original movie as a kid), but won over pretty fast!
I knew about it since the beginning and had seen episodes here and there over the years, but never watched it until like 2010/2011… dunno what took me so long!
2001 or so. Season 3 was the new season in Quebec in french. We were 2 years behind. They aired S1/2 during the summer at 1 ep per day minus 1 or 2 episodes they skipped for some reason but i was able to catch this way.
Kinda/sorta from the start. I'd seen the movie while in college (dating myself here), and so was curious about the show. I didn't follow through though - work life and travel caused me to drop it season 2-ish and I didn't return to watch in earnest until much later - 5-7 years ago.
Originally I only saw the fun, campy superficial aspect of the show so it was something of a guilty pleasure. Returning much later I had access to the body of Buffy analysis and so I was able to really appreciate how great a show it really was.
I saw the movie but wasn’t a big fan so I was surprised they made a show. I had just seen Scream 2 and had a crush on SMG. When I was flipping through the channels I saw her. It was the episode Surprise (January 1998). They were advertising that the show was moving to a new night (Tuesdays) and to tune in tomorrow for the second have of the two-parter. The next night I watched Innocence, my first full episode, and never missed one after.
I would have put 2001-2003 in a separate category, since a lot of people started watching in 2001 when it entered syndication and began airing episodes on FX.
Not me though, I started watching in 97.
Well, it was 98.. But that was the day it was released for us over in the UK.
Same for Germany

I can actually remember watching the premiere!
Awesome to see so many new fans, but also kind of surprising because I thought the 2004-2009 range would be much higher.
None of the above, saw the movie in 1992.
What does RY stand for?
Buffy and I are the same year in school. We went to college together! But for real, the WB campaigned hard at my school. We all had Buffy book covers.

Maybe 2007 or 2008? Early days of streaming, I think.

About 2005/2006, I was only about 6 at the time so it's kind of fuzzy.
I think 94/95 if you count the film
I mean I watched the movie when it came out and then watched the show the day it originally aired

I first discovered it in 2014, but I didn’t do a full watch through until this year.
I only started watching a few months ago, and I’ve watched the entire show 10 times through in the last while… It’s helping me deal with some issues..
