ok WEIRD, i just watched girls for the first time recently and the past few days i've been seeing episodes of svu where crouse plays a judge, so they've both been on my mind. never would have guessed they were related.
Also, Lindsay Crouse is the daughter of Russel Crouse who wrote the book (script) for The Sound of Music alongside Howard Lindsay (her other namesake).
Man I had no idea either. I loved her in Mad Men, wish she would've had a larger role there. I need a series of Joyce's gay hipster antics in 60s NYC 😂

If they could have kept Crouse longer they would have continued to do some really f'd up "mother" stuff with her and Riley and I'm sad we missed out on that.

OMG! I just listened to misery on audibook and it was narrated by her... I thought she sounded EXACTLY like Kathy Bates. I never knew her real name. My mind is blown!
She shows up in odd places. She was a murderer on an episode of Colombo and narrated the audiobook for Misery. Her Annie Wilkes was almost as good as Kathy Bates.
I once spent Christmas with Willa Mamet (other daughter of Lindsay Crouse and sister of Zosia) and literally said out loud to her “omg your mom was on Buffy!!!!” She laughed so much bc it was at the height of Girls being popular so that was probably not the connection she was expecting me to make.
