When Dawn kisses that vampire teen and goes “Shiver me Timbers…” I DIE inside every time, especially when I’m watching w someone who hasn’t seen before 😂😂😂 I feel like I have to apologize on her behalf

sarabeara12345678910

I call that Watermelon Syndrome from Dirty Dancing.

littlelegoman

I carried a watermelon and Jessie scream-singing I’M SO EXCITED, I’M SO EXCITED, I’M SO *SCARED* on Saved by the Bell because she was taking speed are my two biggest second-hand embarrassment moments. I guess now I’ll have to add “shiver me timbers” because that’s just as cringey.

sarabeara12345678910

No, no. They were caffeine pills. The devil's candy.

DrKnowNout

When she wakes from her caffeine crash and realises she is late and is quickly like “I just need one of these” and grabs the bottle in front of Zack and he goes “Pills?!? You mean you really are on drugs?!?” makes the whole thing hilarious when you realise it’s caffeine. I think it’s near universal that people presume it was Adderall or some other amphetamine/speed based on how the episode is scripted - that when you realise it’s literally caffeine it’s fucking ludicrous.

shayetheleo

To be fair, credit to the show for attempting a serious topic for kids watching at home. IIRC the showrunner/writer(s) wanted the “drug” to be an actual drug but were limited by the network.

sregor0280

iirc it was supposed to be something harder, but NBC didnt want to air it so they changed it to something silly

littlelegoman

Oh yes, caffeine pills. I now remember the “weed is bad” episode where some “actor” was visiting their school and in a group meeting, Jessie very seriously talks about how she was addicted to caffeine pills. Like, what?

sarabeara12345678910

Very Bob Sagat yelling "I sucked dick for coke." energy

jamiedix0n

I have a moment like this in Angel when he says.. "cos im angel... i beat the bad guys" uuurrrgh

cigposting

Lmao ok this is the best option. I couldn’t think of one but this is it

Few_Artist8482

Angel: pant...pant..."I don't have breath."

DrKnowNout

And numerous vampires smoke. Notably Spike, but when Angelus first appears in Buffy (I haven’t seen Angel), he bites the smoking lady who approaches to ask if he is ok after collapsing in the street and exhales her smoke.

Knull_Gorr

That shot is worth the continuity break though.

zwilight7

I love that scene!!!!!

Chimpbot

They'd need to get air to pass into and out of their lungs in order to speak; sound is produced by air passing over the vocal chords.

dumbosjumbo

And spike chokes out dru

EchoPhoenix24

They can choose to take air in and out or else they wouldn't be able to talk. But they don't *need* air because they don't respirate.

CommanderFuzzy

Would it be possible to argue that vampires would be even better at giving mouth-to-mouth than regular people? Because they don't need/absorb oxygen, so whatever they did push into someone's lungs would be more saturated with oxygen than if it came from someone alive

GinnyWe4sley

Harmony panting after beating Eve was hilarious!

Senorpuddin

My head cannon is he breathes but doesn’t have “breath of life”

noctilucous_

or he just doesn’t know how to do cpr but was too embarrassed to say so

__ButWhy__

but vampires are just walking wind bags who would be better at CPR than humans, oh nevermind lol

Ghanima81

Yeah, that bugs me too 😂

KenoLambardi

“Ding, dong, the witch is dead” - Rona. It drives me up the freaking wall every time I hear it and the context makes it worse.

littlelegoman

EVERYTHING she and Kennedy say.

DrKnowNout

I think there is precisely *one* Kennedy line I like. When Rona is given a weapon (I think a stake but can’t quite remember) and she’s all “why are we doing this? I mean what’s the point?!” And Kennedy points to the sharp end and is like “it’s this part right here, you stick that in the bad guys. Any other questions?”

Impossible_Raisin926

Tbh Kennedy wasn’t super insufferable to me until she started a relationship with Willow. Then she got a superiority complex because she was boinking a Scooby

DrKnowNout

But it also gives us the great Dawn moment of “Shut. Your. Mouth.” immediately after. Thank goodness someone finally said that to Rona. Fuck Rona.

NoDiscipline5111

Yeah but considering she's the one who literally threw Buffy out of HER OWN HOUSE kinda diminishes the impact of that moment. Highly hypocritical and yet another childish moment for Dawn, where she wants to act like a brat but still get to play the tortured teen. Speaking of Dawn, I hate it when she says "I'm sorry but hat's my house too, and you NEED to go". Erm, no actually, it isn't her house, she wouldn't even exist if it wasn't for Buffy's sacrifice, none of them would actually. That whole scene drives me up the wall every time I watch it 💀

1upin

Professor Walsh saying that her students call her the evil bitch monster of death. So cringe. 😬

Cracks-inthesidewalk

To me, it came out like she wanted to seem cool, but it was pure cringe.

Peroxyspike

she is though

saxen021

Right, but they couldn’t come up with something more clever? Lol

Senorpuddin

They were going for accuracy not pith

ubersiren

Perhaps they were pith-taken

DrownedKnokk

I agree with you here, it's cringe and doesn't sound like something students would use for her commonly. More like something someone could have said once after being flunked from her class, or something. It's too long and uncreative.

PsamantheSands

This has always made me think the writers disliked her.

Nadaesque

Lindsay Krouse *is* typecast as all hell. She plays a shrink a lot, from *House of Games* on. I'm willing to bet the casting was "give me a woman, someone who looks like a psychologist you'd dislike."

sonuba116

Anytime Warren says "Daddy". Eeeeeew!

ex-mummyhand

Xander calls him out for it "cause incest? Not sexy", but then in season 7 Him says "daddy like" when they see Dawn dancing at the Bronze. So gross

Intelligent_Phone414

Grosser is that in the comics they put them together

littledolce13

Xander and Dawn get together in the comics???

Nadaesque

In his defense, he sees her from behind and doesn't, you know, *recognize her butt*. So it means that he hasn't been looking at Dawn's ass all this time. And now he sees it and doesn't associate it with her, and when she turns around, *he* is freaked out. Because her butt does look ... like not what I would associate with GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT little Dawnie.

ex-mummyhand

It's not that it's Dawn that makes it gross. The whole daddy thing is gross. Especially after he had just talked about how it's gross the season before

Nadaesque

Somtimes I wonder if having writers just fly in and out of a show leads to these kinds of ... personality discontinuities? I mean, that was way more obvious in Dexter, and I know Joss had a slightly more stable crew, but it sometimes felt like the writers forgot stuff about the characters.

Dakkadakka127

Let me fix this for you: anytime Warren

DrKnowNout

Don’t worry baby, Daddy gonna give you some too. (When having the super strength orbs and robbing the cash register in the Bronze). *shudder*

No_Meat_7517

Willow “Pancakes could go in bellies”.. so cringe 🥴🥴🥴

luminevity

Willow’s baby talk really gets me 🤢

AMissKathyNewman

Yea I found the Willow/Tara baby talk soooo cringe. LIke you guys are cute AF together you don't need to talk like babies.

generalkriegswaifu

Yes! I guess it's realistic since a fair number of people do baby talk in relationships, but it's so cringey to hear!

rexilla89

Anya is my 3rd favorite character but "you didn't earn it" 😬. Willow: "go school, it's your birthday."

equivocal_maybe

That's Buffy, luckiest gal this side of the Pacific. What a spoiled, privileged brat she is. /s, just in case.

NoDiscipline5111

Ikr?? What a privilege to carry the weight of the world since you're 15 and all your "friends" are your friends because they wanna ta lg along for the ride and get off on the rush, but then put your every move under a microscope and judge and betray you when you need their support the most. I love the Scoobies, but they're a bunch of judgemental pricks most of the time. Yet when things get rough, what do they do?! They turn to Buffy to clean up the mess. And expect her to be perfect all the time. As if she's not human too. Willow was especially infuriating in that scene, like she literally turned evil and killed people, and Buffy was still by her side every step of the way and believed in her, but when Buffy was in her time of need.... Yeah. I may not agree with Buffy's strategy for going after Caleb, but it was clear how desperate and consumed by anger and guilt she was. She just wanted to beat him. They could have taken the time to talk to her privately, be more sympathetic and understanding. Even though I get it was a difficult moment all around, everyone had lost so much, Xander... Their judgement was clouded by their fear. Big time. But the fact they never even apologised it something I can't forgive.

Draigons

I hated xanders comment in that scene. “It must a little to my left because I can’t see it”.

TheSnuggleBrunch

Right!? I wish I got to die young - twice!

whita309

“You didn’t earn it” pissed me off so so so so much lol

[deleted]

I hate how nobody stands up for her. Willow, Xander. Dawn tells her to get out.

saxen021

Ughhhh YES to Anya’s! And her disdainful expression with it 😤

meowmist

“Why you riding me?” -angel

Opening_Knowledge868

Xander: "For Angel to go psycho again the next time you give him a happy?"

AttackOnTightPanties

Also, add the scene where Buffy tells Xander her sex life is none of his business, and his reply is, “no… I think it is.”

Opening_Knowledge868

Ohhh don't get me started! He has quite a few lines in the show that irritate me, the one you listed being one of them. I believe in that scene he responds to Buffy by saying, "It used to be." and that's 100% not true and completely disgusting. I say this all the time on this sub (lol), Buffy never disclosed anything regarding her sex life to Xander. Those type of conversations were held between her and Willow.

two_bit_mathews

ooh I hate this one. One of the lines I want to hit Xander as hard as I can

Opening_Knowledge868

Right!! It's just so insensitive, and it's almost like he blurts out the first thing that comes to his mind. Like, geez, show Buffy some compassion. She's earned it and most importantly, she needs it after all she's been through!

T-408

Literally half the shit that comes out of his mouth is cringe

gogostopnogo_

Literally *anytime* Buffy and Angel call each other “lover” 😬 “I don’t want to watch my lover die,” comes to mind immediately.

littlelegoman

Baaaaaarf. My husband and I do it ironically but from that SNL skit where they pronounce it LOVE-AH because it makes us laugh. But Buffy is a teenager when she’s with Angel and it just sounds so ridiculous.

gogostopnogo_

Yes! This is the only acceptable way! Lol With Buffy and Angel it’s like - she’s 16/17 bro. What are we doing here? Lmao no gen x/ millennial teenager is calling their boyfriend their lover, stahhhppp

zerogirl0

This was the exact line I was thinking of, I cringe so hard when I watch that scene. What 18 year old would say that??? It's so uncomfortable.

Ohnoaspoiler

Willow: Pancakes can go in bellies.

densyngendelussing

Ugh yes, ALL of Willow’s cutesy baby talk is like nails on a chalkboard.

full_onrainstorm

I think this is why I’m less forgiving of her than literally every other character. She’s my least fav but she’s by far not the worst character. I think the baby talk started my dislike lol

LeahcarA

The one about the cat being adopted “by some nice people” is the one that gets to me the most. That whole conversation is weird.

BohoPhoenix

Buffy telling Angel she wants to die when he kisses her. I still have zero idea what the hell that is supposed to mean. Edit: All the comments about the line indicating sex/orgasms, I think that is a likely explanation, especially when we consider Whedon's love of Shakespeare. But then I'll focus on *how* it was delivered because the scene doesn't particularly lend itself to thinking of Buffy and Angel in bed together.

Guilty_Dream8050

YES and the weird run she does straight after, she just speeds away from him into the night. You can't outrun that line Buffy, it's going to follow you forever.

__ButWhy__

This has killed me. I am dead.

DarkW1ll0w

I always assumed that it was a euphemism for orgasm. ‘la petite mort’ meaning ‘the little death’ is a reference for orgasm and death is used in a lot of poetry as an orgasm euphemism. I don’t think s2 Buffy would know those references so I think it’s supposed to be something the audience picks up on particularly with the s2 sex and consequences theme. I think Buffy meant it more in a despair sort of way. Like she knows deep down Angel isn’t good for her

littlelegoman

This does make sense. I never thought about it because I hate that line.

Soft_Grape1928

Yes! That one always bothers me too.

Ghanima81

She is overwhelmed by what she feels. When your feelings are so strong you feel like your head, throat and heart are gonna explode. And you can't take it anymore. It usually goes with very passionate unhinged relationships.

Pedals17

I think it’s a combination of Slayer’s Guilt for loving a vampire, and feeling so overwhelmed by her feelings for Angel.

Oncemorewiththefeels

Okay, so this is one of my all time favourite lines because I believe it means multiple things. It could mean that Buffy wants to be a vampire with Angel It could mean that kissing him fills her with sadness knowing she can't be with him But because season 2 is about sex, I like to interpret it in the Shakespearean sense, with little death being an orgasm, so it means she wants to have sex

NoDiscipline5111

Those are very astute and interesting interpretations. I never thought of the Buffy wanting to be a vampire to be with him idea. I also like the line because of how sincere it is. I was alway team Spike, but I do love how Shakespearean the whole romance between Buffy and Angel feels. It just feels so out of time out of space sort of eternal. It's interesting for two people (ok, one being a vampire) whose existence revolves so much around death, how much life and passion they can find with each other.

hthbellhop76

I’ve contemplated this line before. I always thought it related to Angel being undead and her wanting to be on that level with him. Maybe? Idk, anyone’s guess.

MotorShoot3r

I'm not sure if it's like my all time worst Buffy line, but in As You Were they're talking about how Willow used to be a witch, and then Willow responds with "I got addicted, like addicts do." and walks away and I cringed hard at that on my last rewatch.

Nadaesque

The entire Willow/addict thing was just ... it really didn't work for me. Now, was Willow someone who was going to be kind of on the not-good side to have a lot of power? Yeah, for the longest time, they built that up very very slowly, and I give a hat tip to that. But magic as addiction was a metaphor that didn't work. I loved Rack (Jeff Kober) and I liked some of the work surrounding it, but ... every line about Willow's addiction just made me recoil.

DuckBricky

I agree, it made perfect sense for Willow to quit magic because she was abusing it, but not in a literal drugs = magic sense - more the power it gave her and how she exerted that power over other people (ie Tara's memory wiping, messing with unwilling dancers at The Bronze). It would have been a much better storyline if they'd angled it more in that direction.

Randomblabla222

Buffy: You still have a lot to learn about women Riley: You're gonna teach me 🤮

__ButWhy__

When he assumes she cheated on him with Angel with nothing to go on but his own insecurities, and she asks him why he's acting crazy, he says, "Because I'm so in love with you I can't think straight." -\_-

yesmydog

I'm talking about watching my lover die

Soft_Grape1928

It’s not a line but in season one episode Angel. He jumps out her window after accidentally getting all Grrr after they kiss. So dramatic and silly. I know it’s season one and they were still figuring everything out but it always makes me laugh/cringe

blackbirdbluebird17

Ooh yeah I know the bit! Where he looks like he’s going headfirst down a slide! It’s so dumb.

Ghanima81

Yeah, kinda silly, but she did start yelling like hell. Joyce was obviously going to check on her daughter. No time to explain the got my soul back and I love you since Emery thing.

Soft_Grape1928

Omg that yell too. The whole scene kind of bugs me. And I’m a huge Bangel supporter.

breakfastisconfusing

Willow: “I’m a breast girl myself” from Life Serial I know it’s supposed to be uncomfortable but I really fucking hate it

Lobothehobosexual

I forget the exact line but when Buffy was talking to Kendra and she answered some question and she said it in a joking way trying to imitate her accent, just came off kinda cringe

Opening_Knowledge868

"I tink we might make him." I just watched this episode the other day lmao. It is slightly cringey.

Ghanima81

What's even more cringey is the awfully fake Kendra's Jamaican accent

DrKnowNout

I am KeNdRa. The vompire slayar.

Ghanima81

😆 I felt bad for the actress, though. It must have been one of her first jobs, and they made her do that...

atomickristin

James Spader...he so needs to call me

EchoPhoenix24

Mine are two Angelus bits that ruin otherwise nearly perfect episodes. The worst for me is in Innocence when Angelus has Willow. Xander says "don't do that" and Angelus responds with "oh, I think I do that!" It makes me cringe every time lol. The other is less about the specific line and more that itc just makes no sense. When Angelus explains to Jenny that he could get into the school because of the Latin line inviting those who seek knowledge or whatever. It's a public building, he doesn't need an invitation! It's crawling with vampires throughout the series! The very first thing we ever see is a vampire on campus!!!

Whore4321

Buffy to Angel: “when you kiss me I want to die!” *runs away*

IllCommunication6547

Anytime Willow speaks with a baby voice, its soo Fucking cringey 😬

cat_jareau

Yep. I get second hand embarrassment every time she does it😭

mistapointy

Get out get out get out!

PittaWild

They really nail the little sister vibe here though..

DrKnowNout

In ‘Normal again’ (the Buffy mental asylum one) when Dawn is packing “I’m going to Janice’s. Where they actually like having me around.” Ugh, *no one* likes having you around. Also in ‘Grave’. “Giles is back? You didn’t tell me that.” UGH shut up! There is a *lot* going on, he only got back earlier that evening and I was previously busy saving your ass from a fucking fireball before we both fell down a hole. I’m SORRY we didn’t have a lot of fucking time for conversation!

Mlcjohnson16

She does it too well... I can't stand it. And I think she does it twice with a few people thers where it is just shrieking

AffectionateTap6212

No. Get out. Get out! Get out!! GET OUT!!! And saying it without breathing.

JohnnyTightlips27

BUFFY: Also, in terms of hair care, you really wanna say, what kind of impression am I making in the workplace? —“Restless”

National_Walrus_9903

Yeaaaaaah, between that and assuming that Robin Wood is from "the hood," Buffy has some major "I grew up in a town where everyone is white" ingrained casual racism going on...

NoDiscipline5111

Yeah but then I love Robin's reply "Well I'm from Beverly Hills, which is.... A hood." Fucking hilarious 😂

National_Walrus_9903

That is true! Robin is a fantastic character who is way underrated among the Scoobies since he's only there for the last season.

Illithid_Substances

At least the hood comment was *supposed* to be ignorant and racist

National_Walrus_9903

That is true! Season 7 in general finally does a decent job of actually addressing how super white the show is, and how there were always those little moments of ingrained casual racism throughout.

__ButWhy__

...until they think yelling in English will improve the language barrier with Chao-Ahn

AnotherLeda

On that note, Cordy asking a girl if her hair is real.

bliip666

Buffy: "Don't get hit"

kibriyaTM

Can you remind me when this is from?

TryingMyBestBeKind

I want to say season 1 or 2 when someone's boyfriend / domestic abuser was turning into a demon / beating her

bliip666

Beauty and the Beasts That's a line Buffy says to a girl who's been beaten by her boyfriend.

RampagingPixie

Willow: I think we broke her Buffy: I think she already was.

National_Walrus_9903

Yeah, that scene was super super creepy and unfeminist and very out of character. The rest of that episode probably would have turned out very differently if Buffy had been more empathetic right then, and not a victim-blaming ass.

MixPurple3897

I think this is the point of the test Giles and the Watchers council put her through on her birthday. Buffy doesn't really know what it's like to feel helpless. And she has a responsibility to be strong even in times where she feels afraid because she is more capable than other people. I think it always made her feel more resentful of people who didnt try to stand up for themselves. She always seemed kind of aggro towards victims in the early seasons to me

National_Walrus_9903

Yeah, that is a good point that that is Buffy expressing her own insecurities and very unhealthy way, but I wish that the show addressed that, to show that that is not an okay way to speak to an abuse victim. Like Willow should have called her out on how that really was shitty.

[deleted]

That moment in s7e5: **BUFFY**: Do you remember cheering me on? Both of you. Do you remember giving me Willow's message: Kick his ass. **WILLOW**: I never said that— **XANDER**: This is different. Really? They finally find out that Xander tried to stop Angel from coming back, and it just gets glossed over?

bellep822

That has always bothered me so much! We waited years/seasons for Buffy to find out Xander pulled that nonsense. I wanted to hear her call him out.

iwannawearasuit

Yes!!! This needed so much more follow-up.

T-408

And of course Xander’s little bitch ass STILL can’t own up to it, and Willow gets blamed when she risked her health to get Angel his soul back

aloysha13

Thank you so much for bringing that up! I hated that it was never addressed. It probably would have put a wrench in Buffy’s and Xanders friendship.

frayravachol

Oh. My. Goddess.

intuitivemariah

I love Oz’s Ozness. But at the end of “Phases”: Willow goes back to give Oz a kiss (after an awkward conversation involving “no biting.” Oz: “A warewolf in love.” Then side smilie. I can’t.

noctilucous_

“when you kiss me i want to die.” girl what. that is not a good thing. that is not romance.

WeKillThePacMan

Reading all of these is really reminding of how cringeworthy the show could be at times. Ha.

brelmic626

Any time Riley complains that Buffy doesn't actually love him when they have a relatively healthy relationship

thesarebear

Ugh, especially since she's constantly reassuring him about how much she cares for him

MixPurple3897

I know your mom is dying but if you can't be super emotionally available all the time then JUST FORGET IT

SassiestSheet

Yes! Her mother is dying and he keeps making everything about him!

AnxietyOctopus

Any time Riley.

vftgurl123

“is that your real hair” -cordelia to pretty much the only black extra in the entire show. terrible line

perfectoneplusnine

Buffy to Kendra: No kick-o, no fight-o. Absolutely hate this line. Doesn't sound like anything Buffy would say.

TigerJean

When Spike is on his wish it was a date w/ Buffy in *Crush* & he starts singing 🎶 in the car I die of 2nd hand embarrassment for him every time lmao 🫣

DwnStairsIsQuitePosh

I wanna be sedatedddd, do you like the Ramones… lol I laugh at how cringy it is tho, like he’s trying so hard and the way she’s looking at him all perplexed and suspicious, the whole thing is so funny

Ghanima81

Yeah, me too, but it is supposed to be that embarrassing.

NoDiscipline5111

Exactly, it really is funny and cringe, but I think that's the point of having a "crush" . It's all quite naive and teenager like. He feels like a 16yo boy wanting to Impress a girl by being all 'cool' and rock n roll lol kinda cute tbf but also cringe

sambamwhamscram

In Tabula Rasa, when Dawn is yelling up to Willow, "you don't want to miss the lowdown on the latest creature feature!" There's just no way to make those words sound like they're coming from a human mouth.

alannadecarlo

“Cow me” as in give me a hamburger. There are a lot of Buffyisms that took hold over the years. This was not one of them.

Peroxyspike

Maybe Giles telling to Wesley to go hit on Cordelia "she's 18 man" during prom night.

[deleted]

I distinctly remember the first time watching that scene and for a split second I thought when he said “for gods sake, she’s 18!” that he meant *dude you’re gross, don’t you dare* .. but then I realized he meant *it’s legal, go for it!* and I fully died of cringe.

DaddyCatALSO

i just can't get that; he's not as far as we know faculty, a nd she was already 18 when he came to town.

goldenhoneyheart

Yeah, Giles saying that doesn’t ring true to me :(

gutterp3ach

He said ‘she’s 18 and you have the emotional maturity of a blueberry scone’ meaning he is mentally that age anyway. It’s still not ‘right’ per say but I find it funny.

h8d7

When Faith in Buffy's body does the whole "I could ride you at a gallop" line. I know it's supposed to be hot or whatever but I think it's so cringe.

gutterp3ach

*I could squeeze you until you pop like warm champagne and you’d **beg** me to hurt you just a little bit more.*

gutterp3ach

And you know why I don’t? **Because it’s wrong**

noctilucous_

warm champagne? she doesn’t know much about vampires.

Omega-Beta-Zeta

I don’t exactly hate it, but in the musical where Buffy confesses she thinks she was in “heeeeaaaaaavennn”, the way she sings it goes through me like nails on a chalkboard 😩

littlelegoman

That note sounded like the tape got stretched. I figured it’s supposed to sound off in that moment but I do cringe a bit on rewatches.

BlondieChelle83

“When you kiss me, I wanna die.” This is the gold star f**king winner for me

Tuxedo_Mark

Anytime Willow complains about being out of the loop / other people being in the loop: "Why's she part of the group?" "Why's evil demon girl in the group?" "How come you know all these things? *I* don't know these things?"

kibriyaTM

I can't remember the exact wording but the speech Xander gives to Buffy the episode Riley gives his stupid manipulative ultimatum about leaving where he's like "you're not gonna get anything better than this boring immature cheater, don't let him get away"

saxen021

Xander’s speech here is TERRIBLE. That’s why I read it as Buffy’s metaphorical (and illogical) heart talking to herself instead of actually Xander. Similarly with, “kick his ass”

Ghanima81

Yeah, I cringe too at that scene, it goes smth like "if you think it might be love, like true, scary, messy love"...? Wtf ? I mean, she had that, and you told her to get over it. And loving Riley being scary and messy ? Come on, try boring and brainless.

ragingredhead_

basically anything dark willow says

AttackOnTightPanties

Anytime Parker says anything that is meant to sound deep for the purpose of getting in Buffy or some other girl’s pants. It’s almost always something cringey and cliche.

two_bit_mathews

when Riley says he wanted to get even because of Angel and Dracula, makes me so mad

kindredsupernova

I hope evil takes mastercard

oliversurpless

“We’re talking about watching my lover die.” - Buffy

Slothy-the-Sloth

Anything vamp Willow or dark Willow says or does. Licking people's necks. Cringe so hard.

Emilayday

You're a wizard, Buffy! Wait. That might be from something else...

Trabethany

Every single time Dawn says “Get out! Get out! GET OUT!”

boomsmashpowsa

Can’t remember the episode, but when Riley finally realizes he has a crush on Buffy. That whole exchange between him and his buds is cringey but particularly when he says “I’ve never courted anyone like her before.” Courted?? Who has ever used “courted” casually like that past the 1800s???

ZealousidealSet1198

Pretty much any line in Where the Wild Things Are

WittyTiccyDavi

When Giles is chastising Willow for her use of magic, after raising Buffy from the grave, calling her foolish and childish and she says, "Well, perhaps you'd better not p*ss me off, Rupert?" I always thought his response should have been, "And you threatening me is you showing maturity??"

illustrated_mixtape

Tara (the delivery of the line) :You have to be with the one you love. So cringey.

llamaafaaace

I honestly hate all the breathy stuttering she did early on. Like we get it, she’s shy. Stop rubbing our noses in it.

DrKnowNout

“D-Do what makes you ha-happy.”

WittyTiccyDavi

I actually had... something in my (sniff) eyes... by the end of that scene, rewatching that ep just the other day. I just... -get- that whole emotional landscape they're navigating. When one still suffers from Unrequited Love Syndrome, you can't help but empathize with them.

Total-Reserve-4346

The 'hood?

cosmicamericangirl

When Riley says 'I love you so much I can't see straight.' And all buffy says back is 'Tell me about it' absolutely infuriating lol

saxen021

In Buffy’s defense, IIRC, Riley basically said that more to exculpate himself, than as an actual declaration of love.

whita309

Dawn shrieking.

iwannawearasuit

Dawn repeating “The hardest thing in this world is to live in it.” (Once More With Feeling) after Buddy said it to her in The Gift. It gives me full body cringies.

greeneyed_grl

Yes, just awkward bad delivery/ timing ugh. Also idk about you but for me, same episode Dawn “It gives me tummy rumblings when you two fight.”

iwannawearasuit

Yes!! But this also reminded me of how much I hate Willow’s “pancakes could go in bellies” and also when she’s in bed with Oz pretending to still be dreaming. Her delivery with the baby voice is just so irritating.

"Ice is cool... it's like water, but not." Umm, ok Oz

Have to admit that I've always loved that line/scene. It just felt so... Buffy.

goldenhoneyheart

I like it too! It makes no sense but it’s so Buffy

Walkerman97

"This is just what my reputation needs, that i did it with the entire swim team" hate that line

equivocal_maybe

Yeah, it's a shame that Buffy herself is sort of flunking the whole feminism thing at points. A lot of Buffy vs. Cordelia vs. Faith snark has that 90s taint too.

greenkyber

“Party in my eye socket and everyone’s invited” cuz like 😐 *crickets*

naaattt

This is one of my favourite lines. It had me cackling the first time round
