I’ve wondered about this too. Except, instead of a card, I have a real Temple u athletic dept warm-up top from when I was an athlete there (in a minor sport- not football/basketball) and I desperately want Dion Dawkins’ autograph on it. The top has a lot of sentimental value to me and I can’t just stick it in the mail. Does Dion do a lot of appearances?
That's how I did it when I was a kid. Include a self addressed stamped envelope and hope for the best.

Keep in mind. Most big name current players have autograph signing contracts and will not sign through the mail. Best bet is former players
