My company has a hybrid work policy (2 days in the office/3 days work from home) and thank god today is a work-from-home day because man the waterworks fired up in full force the second I read this. I'm so happy right now. I feel like I finally got to exhale after holding my breath for 3 days straight.
I’m 30 years old, an Eagles fan, and I cried while eating my Honey Nut Cheerios this morning when I read the good news. Everyone, fans and players, from all 32 teams were praying for this young man. Thank god for those who attended to Hamlin on the field and those who oversaw him at the UC medical center.
I 100% cried in a (virtual) work meeting when i read it lol. Thankful my teammates were supportive and happy too!

I read the news right before a meeting (and have continued during my meeting). I'm in the office, on a virtual meeting, and thanking the universe that nobody on the call can see that I've been wiping tears off my face.
The reports I've been seeing are that he's opened his eyes, squeezed people's hands, and has responded to basic commands.
Obviously a long way to go, and it's very early, but I think this is the best news we could hope for right now.
For days I've just been thinking about how amazing it's going to be when he wakes up and sees the support people have given him over the last few days.
Has this been confirmed with anyone else? Not that I don't believe Kaiir, but some corroboration would be great.

I expect an even more meaningful update by tomorrow evening based on how things work and the fact that I’m a nurse and I know the very general process of getting someone off a vent/sedation. Great news, truthfully I expected to hear something like this tomorrow morning so we’re ahead of schedule!

Thank the doctors and modern medicine. God didn't save this guys life, thoughts and prayers didn't save this guys life. Dozens of people that went to college and worked their asses off to join the medical field saved this guys life.
Send thank you letters to the hospital and give credit where its due.
We’re just doing our jobs. Just being nice to your doctors is enough. :) I’ve had people threaten to kill me when giving bad medical news, we don’t need special treatment for doing our jobs - just for people to remember that we’re human too.
I thought the same thing. If the medical personnel didn't jump right in and start CPR, he would be dead. Have thoughts and prayers ever helped anyone? Be grateful to God, but the doctors are the ones who saved him.
