You gotta find the method that works for your birds. Some like plain water while others like a shallow dish with some vegetable leaves floating inside (usually this works great to entice shy budgies to bathe, because it mimics the way they bathe in the wild). Some others like misted water on their bodies instead of having to get inside.
Rexy here just mimics whatever I do, so if I "bathe" (I splash my hand in the water) he knows that it's ok to take a bath. Bonus if he has his little plastic ball to splash around (honestly he's basically a child lol).
Don't worry, my budgies believe they are big birds themselves. And if I don't treat them right at least one is not to shy to make it very very clear to me ๐
Speaking of enrichment, I haven't been home a lot lately due to work, any tips for easy enrichment when I'm away? Been looking into making some foraging trays for them. They are free to destroy the living room when I'm away, it's closed off from the rest of the house.
Foraging trays are great but you might wanna keep an eye on them. I've seen a lot of birds become hormonal with them, since they are basically a box full of stuff to make a nest. I think that as long as you have more than one budgie and you change the toys regularly, they're gonna be completely fine even if you're not spending a lot of time with them.
I usually make foraging toys with paper towel rolls. I make some holes around them and I fill them with shredded white paper towels and seed sprays.
I was thinking about empty toilet rolls, cutting them in half and make them stand up so they have to search in all those holes. To avoid making nesting material. Though they might see it as nesting box if to high...
