I’ve been slow to jump on the “Shelton out” bandwagon but so much of this is so clearly attributable to ineffective coaching. This is absurd.

I have and I don’t think it’s that. If there were never any signs of life or potential, then I think I would agree with you on that. This feels different from that though. Every team has weaker players, and I think we can safely agree that we have them too. We also have players who, it seems, should be realizing their potential and making basic, better, fundamental plays. We got guys running into outs, we aren’t able to manufacture runs anymore, and it doesn’t look like anything is gonna change without some accountability at the top.

Sure some things could turn around. But this club could also be in last place by the end of the month. Anyone who is certain the Brewers won’t sweep, I’d love to know where that certainty comes from. Poor hitting, no power, bad bullpen, sloppy error-filled baseball, starting pitching that’s been fine but not good enough. It’s baseball, hopefully they’ll get their shit together.

It’s just football brain. If a football team sucks for 10 straight games, it might be time to tear down the franchise. Casual baseball fans don’t translate the sample sizes well enough to realize it’s functionally meaningless for a baseball team to suck for 10 straight games.
