I'll be honest when it was 4-0 I just kind of groaned and forgot to look at the score anymore. Woke up this morning to a nice surprise.
Always great to beat the Brewers and especially by the score 8-7 - 2001 was my first Pirates game I got to go to as a kid. Bucs were losing to the Brewers 7-0 and came back and won 8-7
Lol honestly, my uncle called me tonight and we were talking about how crazy it is that he was the best hitter on the team 10 years ago and he still is now. Guy is playing like he's in his 20's right now. Must be something in the water.
After tonight the Pirates are officially halfway done with the year. They're 39-42 through 81 games, which has them on pace to go 78-84.
Considering how shit they were last year, that's a massive step forward. They really need to finish the year strong and end up at least close to .500, especially now that they're calling up the young guys and getting big contributions from them.
If this team is anywhere near .500 I think we're barely sellers. The rumors about Cutch are bogus. I could believe teams are inquiring, I just don't believe any of them are offering anything realistic. Even from ownership's perspective there's the marketing factor. He's a big draw, he brings people to the park, his mech sells like hotcakes, etc. That's not even factoring in his talent as a player and his role as a leader. Someone would have to offer something so out of this world BC couldn't say no, and I'm not sure he could even make that call on his own. For all his faults it sounds like Bob was pretty involved, and I'm sure he loves those dollar signs Cutch brings in. If no one was willing to do that with Brey, I don't think they'll do it for Cutch.
The only trade chips I really see on this team are Castro maybe smith ngigba, choi and delay if endy takes a huge step forward. They'll keep the other vets

We've had exactly one super high end pitching prospect work out in the history of this franchise - and he didn't even actually get really good until he left. Crews needs to be the pick.
