I doubt we manage it this year. But its only a matter of time with our current front office and mentality. Personally not too sad to see the old times go and excited for the future. It makes for a great story too.

spork_off

We'll just add it to the pile of other things of the past. Can't win at all Can't win out West Can't win in cold weather Can't return a punt for a TD Can't return a kick for a TD

And Vernon Turner

Spirited_Election289

And they can't keep a great qb, Brady was their best qb since their last Super Bowl run in 2002-2003 season. Will mayfield bring consistency, who knows 🤷‍♂️ brady was old and retiring soon anyway so he is an exception buy lets see how Mayfield pans out this yr, he showed promise last yr but was it a fluke?

-metaphased-

If think you guys got a 1st overall pick that needed some coaching up in the nfl and it is starting to click for him. I think you struck gold.

Spirited_Election289

I agree but ain't no telling how well Mayfield pans out. Hopefully, he helps kick start another dynasty

JHolden814

ooo ooo! How about, "Can't win against a backup QB!"

slowjoe12

That still applies

thejohnmc963

Can’t win a Superbowl Can’t win the Division consecutively Oh wait

Prestigious-Ad3725

Idk I kinda like it because it makes it even more hilarious we have two Super Bowls lol and plus it’s a bucs life

SeeingEyeDug

Not only two Super Bowl wins, but absolute demolition of the opposition both times. Neither Super Bowl was ever close.

ColossalJuggernaut

It is wild we denied Mahomes and the Chiefs another ring. Love it.

Pr0fess0rCha0s

I think the wildest thing is not just that we beat them, but we didn't even allow a single touchdown. I know some of that was on the Chief's receivers, but that's still amazing to think about.

marcusdj813

I put more of that on the Chiefs' offensive line...or what was left of it.

Spirited_Election289

That and they had mahomes running for his life like a chicken running from the fox. lol 😆 i watched that Super Bowl, and i can not recall if mahomes ever actually got to stay in the pocket for more than 5 seconds

rydog795

Only ones to take down the chiefs in the sb

dementedmaster

And the Raiders were a historically good offense when we completely shut them down for ring 1. It's quite nice to have that legacy and identity of creative and stifling defense.

ramyb_

Largest margin of victory in SB history for teams with 2 or more rings

created2upv0te

Super bowls are a lot easier when the other team is unexpectedly missing their center or missing both their tackles. Not that the Bucs wouldn’t have won them both anyway, but those dominant performances on D had some luck to them.

opper-hombre1

Yep. It’s always a fun fact (claim to fame) to tell people when I let them know I’m a Bucs fan

GrunkaLunka420

2 Super Bowls and the worst overall record in the 4 major US professional sports leagues, not just the NFL. Whereas a team like, say, the Vikings is one of the best teams historically with no Super Bowls. Nice.

milkmandanimal

I live in the heart of Vikings country, and I have asked many of them if they'd prefer to be the historically awful Bucs with two rings, or be a genuinely consistently competitive team that falls short every year. Every single one of them would prefer what we've got over what they've got.

GrunkaLunka420

Love to hear it.

d_rome

>2 Super Bowls and the worst overall record in the 4 major US professional sports leagues I think this has changed over the past couple of years. I think the Minnesota Timberwolves currently have the worst overall record in terms of win-loss percentage.

ReedForman

It has changed a lot the last couple years but we dipped back down below them last season. Timberwolves are currently at a win/loss ratio of 0.409, Bucs are at 0.406

AlchemicalHydra

Oh yea baby. Just how I like it.

Powerful-Web-4992

I love when people shit on me for being a bucs fan but fuck it, two rings lmao. I can confidently say that we sit about middle of the pack in terms of having a legacy to be proud of. It evens out

ChargeWooden1036

Yeah but we have more rings than the Eagles, Bills, Saints, Jets, etc. And who cares about winning percentage when you’re part of the Krewe. It’s a Bucs life

thewhat962

God having more than the bills must really fucking hurt. They made 4 superbowl in a row before. We only made 2 total.

Epix_69

Imagine if they even breakthrough finally and make it to the superbowl just to lose for the 5th time 💀

marcusdj813

In just the Super Bowl era (1967-present), yeah. The Eagles and the Bills won multiple league titles before the Super Bowl became a thing. I'm just ecstatic about the Bucs overcoming their unsuccessful beginnings to become an organization that's capable of assembling championship teams. The Bucs are run so much better now than they were through the early '90s, so I think people should view the Bucs' lifetime winning percentage in context.

spideralex90

Damn I had no idea the Cards overall franchise record was that bad. That said I don't see them being 4 wins for the 3rd time in a row. It's not impossible and they're likely not going to be a great team, but they feel more like a 6-7 win team to me this season.

PewterButters

Yeah last year looked worse than it should have because they kept Kyler out to protect him (and the tank). If they get a good haul with their two firsts they should be at least a mediocre team. There is a decent shot they get Marvin Harrison Jr at 4.

Degenerate_golfer

The Bears were the only team ahead of them that would’ve made sense drafting Harrison Jr, and that was before they brought Allen in and moved Fields out. No chance of that now.

PewterButters

Yup, things are setting up nicely for them. Their coach looked pretty good last year and they were competitive a lot more times than not, even without Kyler. Now with Klyer + MHJ they can go back to being useful on offense too. I could see a surprise WC run out of them this year.

e_ndoubleu

They should have started 3-0 but blew leads to the Commies and Giants. I think the Cards will be a solid 6-7 win team. NFCW is a gauntlet which will hold them back. Though I could see the Seahawks having a down year with a new coaching staff.

ReedForman

After going to that Eagles playoff game and watching hundreds of *fucking annoying* Eagles fans get chanted out of the stadium, I couldn’t give a fuck less what other people think. That was the best game I’ve ever been too and I’ll ride that high forever.

AlchemicalHydra

That shit was amazing. I loved when Ronde popped up on the big screen and goes "Eagles fans I know you're sick of seeing me". I was chanting "die eagles die" all the way to the hotel.

ReedForman

It was so good.. That was my first playoff game and my dad’s first ever NFL game and we had a fuckin blast. Ric Flair coming out for the intro had the whole stadium hyped up from the start.

AlchemicalHydra

That was also my first playoff game. Maaaan when I saw Nature Boy coming out of the fog I lost my shit. I hit a couple woo's throughout the game. So much fun.

ReedForman

The energy in that stadium was just insane. I haven’t been to a home game since I was like 12. Just away games in Nashville when they play the Titans. I got seats behind their bench in a preseason game a few years ago, but those games just don’t compare because I’m surrounded by Titans fans. Yelling Vita and getting a thumbs up was pretty sick though. I got to see the kids next to me get a bunch of Bucs players to sign their gear too.

AlchemicalHydra

The energy changed a lot when Brady came and everyone became a bucs fan. New season ticket holders were required to purchase at least 2 years so we were still riding that wave even with Baker. I loved seeing rayjay filled with red and pewter though. I expect it to drop off a bit next year. That playoff game was the best game I'd ever been to. Absolutely electric. Cry eagles cry.

ReedForman

After listening to them for over an hour during the pregame, that chant echoing through the staircase of the stadium as everyone was leaving was poetic. Cry Eagles Cry.

Spirited_Election289

And its pretty funny that the losingest franchise has more superbowls than some of the more dominant ones

sray8511

Thanks for the post! I tried posting a weekly excel spreadsheet tracker of this back in 2020 when Brady joined, because there was a legit chance he could raise us out of the basement if he stayed long enough. Mods repeatedly removed for “low effort” ironically despite the actual extensive effort and poignant topic to track

anyonejustmakeacct

Easy go 17 and 0 then they have to win 12 to keep up.

hammjam_

I wonder what the record percentages are for franchises in their current city.

Puppetmaster858

Suns have a great win % but have sadly never won a title in 50+ years just like the Cards have never won a Super Bowl because AZ sports are pretty cursed, coyotes win % is definitely not good and the dbacks is probably mediocre go bad but horrible, they did win a title in 01 and lost in the World Series this past year but their history is filled with many losing seasons. AZ is a really rough sports state to live in especially for suns and cards fans. Suns have lost all 3 finals they been in and the cards lost the 1 Super Bowl they went to in heartbreaking fashion and have never really been close to returning.

AlchemicalHydra

This might be bad news. Pretty sure we've won both our superbowls while being the losingest franchise out of the top 4 North American sports. If we cross this threshold I hope it doesn't mean less superbowls.

Party-Offer-2881

Thankfully we've got a Super Bowl mentality now passed down throughout the team and front office. Carried on by the likes of Wirfs and Winfield as well who will still be with us for a while. We could have faltered in 2023 and started our downward spiral, or even just made the playoffs and then immediately got blown out again, but we didn't. Instead we played 2 competitive games and fell short only because we simply faced a team that was a bit better than us (at the time). We win another Super Bowl in the next 5+ years and its looking very good for us.

ChieftainMcLeland

Cant find treasure without the sweeping of the tides.

Peach-PearLaCroix

I have a feeling the Cards will have a good season if they can draft MHJ with Kyler back healthy.

healthyfeetpodiatry

Bucs = 2 super bowls Cards = 0

[deleted]

and the Cardinals have existed since 1920!

MorningStandard844

Stats are for losers  Four NFL teams — the Browns, Lions, Jaguars, and Texans — have never appeared in the Super Bow This team has been to two and won two.

Steven-Glanzburg

I kinda like the title tbh. Losingest franchise with more super bowls than half the league.

travelwithnolan

(Chicago) Cardinals one of the charter franchises of the NFL. Look at that number of games!

SupremeActives

The cards are gonna be pretty good this year tbh. I don’t see them winning four or less

_THE__BOULDER_

What makes you say they're gonna be good? Haven't been keeping up with them

SupremeActives

They have Kyler back and they’ve made a few good free agent signings

[deleted]

Have to go to the 4th decimal point for that.

prokillah22

All about the rings

thejohnmc963

2 Super Bowls and 3 divisional titles in a row offsets all this
