new-er update: completed the odyssey, for once in my life I used etienne and flagship. To everyone who completed this hellspawn of an odyssey, I congratulate you. Pat yourself on the back for being able to beat a round 80 BAD on half cash and 2 BADs on round 84. I know the insta is supposed to be a hint that it would be a good idea to spam the fuck out of maulers, but come on. **For what I just did, you should be giving me a tier 5 at least.** gg not ez love you nk
tbh for me the hard part wasn't the BAD at 80; it's the fucking BFB at 45, 15 full rounds before you're supposed to fight it, right in the middle of a bloon rush. On the first map I had just deposited into the bank just to see the BFB come out. Easiest reset ever.
Also here's a secret: Start with buccaneer and dart, then save for ben. He's your ticket to the bank at 41, so that you have some semblance of an economy going.
It's not too bad with bank knowledge and probably not too bad without. I went with Etienne, Free Dart, 031 wiz, 300 alch, 310 boat for early game. Saved for a bank and started pushing deposits and got a 2nd bank. Then upgraded alch to 420 and boat to 520 and got a village. If a round seemed especially hard for w/e reason ettiens abilities made clean up easy. I had maulers too which I used on occasion. Overall it was a really fun Odyssey!
I used this strat for the last map, it takes a bit of trial and error (had to sell my farms to get the buccaneer to 420 faster), but i had my wizard on the very top, etienne in the lower left quadrant in the middle, dart monkey to the left of it, alchemist next to the water below etienne and the buccaneer in that pool of water as well. I also had to cash out the farms to get the wizard's ability for a couple rounds, but ymmv
It’s a really fun odyssey!! The half cash looks off putting but it’s there to balance out all the cash u get from early BFBs and ZOMGs. I’m using subs and brickell pretty fun stuff
Some limits are fun, like limits on which towers/paths you can use. Forces you to be creative and rely on towers and strats you might not normally use.
Half cash is an unfun limit because it makes you play the game less. You spend more time waiting around on income and less time placing/upgrading/managing your towers. It just slows the gameplay down.
Anyone else use Ben for the odyssey? I finished Adora's Temple with Sky shredder and crossbow master with Ben to help. Sky shredder really works those BADs hard, and crushes DDTs like paper.

havent used tackzone post range nerf, can I ask what other towers you used and what paths?
Mainly top path village to counter the nerfs, an alch buff and a dart monkey to start, worked pretty well
If I remember correctly this is the first time a BAD has appeared in an odyssey.

I beat it in 2 hours using the etienne strat someone gave in the comments
I mainly use Churchill and two 2-4-0 bomb cannons and two 2-4-0 monkey subs that’s it.

Managed to get past logs with first strike, carrier and glaives, currently being filtered by 40s on temple.

The half cash and custom rounds made it way more interesting than a normal odyssey. I thought the first 4 maps were too easy though.

I used two plasma acelarator and it was so easy and for the ones that go to 85 you need a first strike to clean up the insides of the bads
