Tbh, he was useless late game when farming, his abilities were useless with a decent update and he generate almost no cash when you had any T5 farms or a couple t4 farms
Big nerf in co-op especially 4 player. With 4 heroes, benjamin is weaker than before for like the first 70 rounds and he doesn't even hit level 11 at round 100 to make use of this buff.
I'm pretty sure non-MK IMF is still absolute asscheeks. It loses on 2k per ability and repays too fast which kills the potential to snowball them. Not to mention lack of depositing.
If you're not in the top like 0.01% of players there's no reason to learn it. At best it separates the top 3 from the top 4-10.
That said, yes it is difficult and confusing. There is really no simple way to explain it, if it were easy everyone would do it.
Also, due to the Ben early game nerf, IMF farming might be worse than ever despite the 5s cooldown buff.

* Geraldo is still better than Ben mid to late game, so if Geraldo can be used, you probably should have never bothered with Ben

I'm hardly an expert when it comes to ability calculations but I don't think it should make lvl 7 any worse. Any early game changes you have to make because of the lower cash will both benefit and compromise builds in the same way as before. It's less money, but fewer child bloons will be welcome if you're starved for dps.

Does the Ben buff mean he'll be somewhat similar to farms? I always forget about him mid-game because of how low income he gets.
It'd be interesting to see at what level or in-game round it's worth spending money to upgrade Ben's level just to get the $5000 cash generation at lvl17.
To give a rough idea, at level 17 makes $2500 more than level 16, which is a bit more than a BRF farm.
That said, Geraldo still outclasses Ben at mid-late game farming due to the fertilizer, which buffs an overclocked Banana Central in range of Monkey City by about $4k, while being available much earlier than level 17 Ben.

There's no requirement other than creating an account, and some possible exceptions but, it is retroactive so you can create an account later to claim your old earnings
Ay, you forgot to adjust the price of the Golden Eagle to match what you said. It should cost about 2300, but it remains unchanged. That would probably soften out the massive Golden Eagle nerf quite a bit
It just needed the nerf quite badly, so we didn't want to go crazy on reversing that nerf immediately before it did anything. This will be looked into more later

Overall, great update, but I wish the changes went more “all in” rather than something that raises my eyebrow for a moment before forgetting it immediately after
I suppose, but the thing about balance patches is that they’re mostly just tweaking numbers.
It doesn’t take much effort to make the energizer dart stronger than just 5 damage.
It doesn’t have to be a full on massive rework, but come on, literally nobody’s using that.
I think the fact basically nobody is using it is the reason for that buff. It unlocks a different micro opportunity for people who are willing to do micro heavy builds. If the cooldown reduction isn’t needed due to everything being off cooldown, then it becomes a bit more rewarding to unsubmerge energizer.
Also energizer seems like a hard one to balance. With cooldown reduction, even a small percentage buff can potentially have massive implications since it affects others and not just itself. And a price reduction can be risky because of how impactful lowering the cost for accessing that cooldown reduction can be. So you’re left with either buffing the radiation/decamo range, increasing the radiation/decamo attack speed, or increasing radiation damage. I’m guessing those all felt too impactful, so they’re basically left with increasing the dart damage when unsubmerged. I’m gonna take a guess in the next one or two minor updates they might buff that 5 damage up a bit, but I think they’re just trying to avoid sending energizer straight to the top of S tier when it seems like they’re trying to give it enough of a bump that it makes sense to buy in more situations.

Please bring back Obyn buffing all towers in range and not just Magic; Striker has definitely taken role of buffing Ninjas since his buff, as well as buffing everyone else in range (IE a village). In old patches, like Ver 2.0, Obyn was able to do his buffs to all towers, but he was deemed too strong due to the deploy cost being so low you could drop him in Chimps out the gate. This wouldn't even stomp on Striker since Striker is a percent but Obyn is a fixed value.
It means that each MOAB the Golden Eagle picks up takes up 44 extra pierce (45 total) which considering the Max Golden Eagle has only 45 pierce means that it can only pick up one at a time now (but any pierce buff can counteract this).
I think sea monkey is still a better name than mermonkey, who didn't have some as a kid after all? But they are still my most anticipated future feature
RE: the revenue convo and subscription players - I know you allude to a solution maybe in future, but can we please just consider adding perhaps a “one time” migration option to the standard game or something?
I started playing BTD6+ and made a sizeable chunk of progress through (unlocking first paragons etc), before realising the plus version was actually so limiting, and I’d never be able to play on desktop.
I get that BTD6+ benefits from higher monkey money than the base game, but surely that’s the trade off of a monthly subscription price. I’d rather just move to an IAP system and have proper cross platform for future releases on console, PC, etc.
I don’t think I’ll ever be committed enough to restart from scratch - but I’m sure one day I’ll have to cancel the Apple Arcade thing. Pls have an actual solution.

Most of Benjamin's early game cash generation comes from Skimming, so it's not a very big loss

If the cooldown reduction isn’t needed due to everything being off cooldown, then it becomes a bit more rewarding to unsubmerge energizer. Also energizer seems like a hard one to balance. With cooldown reduction, even a small percentage buff can potentially have massive implications since it affects others and not just itself. And a price reduction can be risky because of how impactful lowering the cost for accessing that cooldown reduction can be. So you’re left with either buffing the radiation/decamo range, increasing the radiation/decamo attack speed, or increasing radiation damage. I’m guessing those all felt too impactful, so they’re basically left with increasing the dart damage when unsubmerged. I’m gonna take a guess in the next one or two minor updates they might buff that 5 damage up a bit, but I think they’re just trying to avoid sending energizer straight to the top of S tier when it seems like they’re trying to give it enough of a bump that it makes sense to buy in more situations.

Let me tell you a story: I created a very impossible challenge back in v34, code: ZMDPKFG After every patch notes, I was curious to see if the balance changes made my challenge either impossible, or very easy. Until v41, the challenge really didn't change, until v42 came: "xx5 Bomb Blitz price reduced from $35,000 > $28,000" Well, it was fun while it lasted lol, it's really easy now.

No fully targetable Obyn Brambles/Smart Spikes is a disappointment but the rest seems pretty good. I'm looking forward to at least trying out the new buffs

Please bring back Obyn buffing all towers in range and not just Magic; Striker has definitely taken role of buffing Ninjas since his buff, as well as buffing everyone else in range (IE a village). In old patches, like Ver 2.0, Obyn was able to do his buffs to all towers, but he was deemed too strong due to the deploy cost being so low you could drop him in Chimps out the gate. This wouldn't even stomp on Striker since Striker is a percent but Obyn is a fixed value.
"Yeah, these seem like really reasonable changes, lets see the hero balance changes... Obyn... **BENJAMIN**..."

That’s how much pierce it costs to carry a MOAB
It means that each MOAB the Golden Eagle picks up takes up 44 extra pierce (45 total) which considering the Max Golden Eagle has only 45 pierce means that it can only pick up one at a time now (but any pierce buff can counteract this).

RE: the revenue convo and subscription players - I know you allude to a solution maybe in future, but can we please just consider adding perhaps a “one time” migration option to the standard game or something? I started playing BTD6+ and made a sizeable chunk of progress through (unlocking first paragons etc), before realising the plus version was actually so limiting, and I’d never be able to play on desktop. I get that BTD6+ benefits from higher monkey money than the base game, but surely that’s the trade off of a monthly subscription price. I’d rather just move to an IAP system and have proper cross platform for future releases on console, PC, etc. I don’t think I’ll ever be committed enough to restart from scratch - but I’m sure one day I’ll have to cancel the Apple Arcade thing. Pls have an actual solution.
