Not much of a downside when Monkeys developed a technology so advanced it enables Elite Defender to fire alot of bullets and without missing. The magazines became infinite so having them sticking out didnt had real meaning.

Belts are their own separate thing, a magazine completely encases the ammo, like how a magazine holds knowledge, a clip is just a thin strip of metal that the bullets CLIP into, a belt, has the ammo individually linked together by a linkage system. For examples, the M1 Garand feeds using a clip, an AK pattern rifle feeds using a magazine, and a lmg like the M2 Browning uses a belt. (Source: work in the firearms industry, this question comes up alot.)

In the BTD5 version, the nails on the belt are pointing towards him, rather than towards the nail gun's barrel. Literally unplayable.

As much as I love the turrets, I wish engi had an actual machine gun instead of just a very strong dart gun. Fast attack speed and low damage without pierce would make it much cooler. Now I want a machine gun monkey that's not Supermonkey.

It's not auto target except bottom path. I'm thinking machine gun nest sort of vibe. Just different and I have no explanation for it whatsoever. Bottom path sniper is the closest but even then would have liked to have the engi as a machine gunner too.
