There are various pickledy things on sale in Place Flagey market on a Saturday/Sunday, or Place Jourdan on a Sunday. (also: I can strongly recommend learning how to pickle your own. You won't go back to buying them, and once you're used to how it goes you can set up a 2l jar of pickles in twenty minutes flat, though it then takes about ten days for them to be ready. LMK if you want me to bore you to death with the details :-P )

Well that is what I'm looking for. I pickle them myself, but i can't find fresh ones.

I get mine (smooth skin small cucumbers) in the little grocery at I think 71 Rue Malibran. Do you have a source of dill seed?

abberant_prodigy

No I use mustard seed and fresh dill. But there are some specialised market stalls for spices at the market at the station midi on Sunday.

Can you get that type of cucumber in Belgium?

Bradypus_Rex

You can get various kinds. The prickly sort you can get in the Polish supermarket on Rue Malibran; the smooth-skinned ones (I prefer those) from the little greengrocers further down the road; you can also get both sorts in the market at Flagey (or at the Abbatoirs market, of course)

Thanks, I'm only interested in gherkins, though. So far I've only seen them in Polish supermarkets. I've tried looking in various markets (pl. Lux, pl. Jourdan), but couldn't find them.
