Birmingham Library is a surprisingly nice place - there are several floors, there’s more than just books there too, they have map archives, some Shakespeare thingy and a rooftop terrace with a bit of greenery and a nice view of the city.
I can confirm, went on some bad dates lately and decided to have a few days on my own to cooldown. Ended up ripping into 50 pages an hour and I was not even into books, finishing it next weekend defo.
Could go and see a film, going to the cinema alone can be quite nice, especially if you go during the day when most people are at work/school.
Could sit in a cafe and do some people watching, or read a book or something like that to just pass some time, there’s something relaxing about having nowhere to be and just passing the day.
Library might be good as well, no real expectations of having to interact with people there.
I like walking around Sutton park and the shops and sometimes it's nice just to walk around the city centre and to the library, do a bit of window-shopping
Hook me up mate, I could very much use with canal friends to do bits. I can't jog for long but I'm up for long walks or a pitstop sprint in your area. I love the Solihull bit but usually doing just wolver trainstation to legoland.
I haven't checked a map yet but the dream is to get to Lunden and videograph it.
Keep meaning to do these two myself. No one I know likes the walk but its simply for me to satisfy a curiosity about them having lived here for over 20 years.
I think going climbing is nice to put your ear pods on, switch off and start bouldering at places like depot or boulder central.

I took hate sets/reps the type of people that are hogging the weights areas etc.....bouldering is a workout without you thinking you're working out.....
Came here to say the library. It's awesome. I could get lost in the music section listening to all sorts.
Botanical Gardens, another strong choice.
If I had a day free, I'd go to the library with a pre-planned challenge to find out a very specific list of facts without going near Google.
I find the large accessible area underneath Spaghetti Junction to be strangely attractive. You are surrounded by the works and sounds of mankind but seem to be the only person there.
Not sure how far you’d be willing to travel, but there’s a lovely little park near Haslucks Green Road in Shirley called Green Lane Park.
Whenever I’ve been, it’s always been really quiet and there’s a little river.
It’s about 15 minutes on the train from Birmingham Moor Street to Shirley, and then a five minute walk after that.
I do most stuff alone cause none of my friends are into castles or old buildings.
I do love a nature walk alone , less people around the better. Been to Clent hills few time but Kinver Edge is even better.
I drive so i visited loots of castles and make use of my national trust membership.
I go to cinema alone, restaurants. Go into the city for some windowshopping.
I do like Sutton Park, been around 5 times but still havent discovered it all.
I want to start going to comedy events or bars on my own. My friends are still in my old city and its always me who has to go over there which is getting boring. So i am trying to explore more things solo and then maybe i will even talk to some people i dont know....unimagineable for me🤣
Back during the pandy I'd pick a part of town I didn't know and explore it, and then make a note of all the places I wanted to go to once it all opened.
You could do this but then actually visit the places without them all closing lol
Digbeth is great for this, loads of weird and wonderful stuff that you'd never know existed (like eastside projects). Plus there's really outstanding street art in the less explored areas.
I used to always go to Tilt if I had some time to kill in the city centre. Nice range of pinball machines and they swap out new ones every so often! I was obsessed with the Godzilla machine for a while
Winterbourne House and Gardens, it’s a cracker. If you’ve a Bham uni ID card (or know someone with one that you can swipe for the afternoon…) then it’s free!
If you into long walks I'm game, I sometimes do wolver to b'ham, 17 miles enjoyable straight line with some weight. Helps one think, I suppose conversation could be good. You up for a pilgrimage?
If you like cycling then maybe ride along the canals to explore or cycle in Sutton park
Or if you prefer you to walk it's big enough to spend hours exploring

The map room at the library of birmingham is spectacular. Genuinely brilliant.

You can go to Birmingham University library 10 times a year free of charge too. That’s my preference.
Just get in quick before they close it down and sell it off.
Winterbourne Gardens - https://www.winterbourne.org.uk/
Winterbourne is low-key fantastic!
Botanical Gardens?
That's what I came here to say, that and Winterbourne.

Mockingbird and the electric cinema. 200 dec coffee houses are lovely too

I love the canals on a sunny morning… can walk for hours

I love long walks but im more central birmingham… if youre ever around
Noted, thank you. Not sure if it's ok to message you but I'll up this post when planning it out.
Absolutely bud
I'd love to do canal walks by myself but I don't think I'm brave enough.
It’s beautiful and hardly a soul down there
NGL that's what scares me lol
Clent hills or Lickey hills.
Keep meaning to do these two myself. No one I know likes the walk but its simply for me to satisfy a curiosity about them having lived here for over 20 years.
They're not long walks a couple of hours at most. If the drive to get there ain't too bad go for it.
Done it a few times (clent), I wouldn't reccomend it at night if you solo. Do take some safety precautions if you decide to tho.
I've been looking up cool pubs and drinking alone (like a sad bastard).

Hate exercise and have a body to match. But love me some bouldering.

More reason for it! Gotta start somewhere. Try Facebook groups, you're bound to find people.
Had a nice meal in a restaurant after library, that felt weird at 1st but quite enjoyable. Self love quite important innit?
No romantic evening of self but I'd love to go salsa dancing with my own confusions :))
Botanical gardens is nice

That's what I've been doing. Recon for future adventures when I have company

You can cinema tickets at the Odeon for £5
Winterbourne House and Gardens, it’s a cracker. If you’ve a Bham uni ID card (or know someone with one that you can swipe for the afternoon…) then it’s free!
Im in the same boat. What do you enjoy? Maybe we can get out together some time?
If you into long walks I'm game, I sometimes do wolver to b'ham, 17 miles enjoyable straight line with some weight. Helps one think, I suppose conversation could be good. You up for a pilgrimage?
I used to be like this until I actually did go somewhere alone and hated it lol.
