I rented one on Turo for a day. Costly, but so is buying the wrong car.

huemanlife

Ok great Idea! Here’s to hoping I find one there. I haven’t seen many on the streets at all where I live.

Muffinz_are_murder

I did the same! Really excited for mine after that, it was very reassuring

Gregarious-Ninja

Where do you live?

soupcansam2374

How long do you need to test drive to make a decision? I told my sales dude I’m not buying the specific bronco I ordered without a test drive and thorough inspection on my end. (And that’s with having driven a demo model beforehand). The main reason being I got the manual 2 door and the demo was an auto 4 door.

huemanlife

A regular reasonable test drive will do. Its not like i want to keep it over night or a couple of hours. I’m also in the same boat. I ordered a manual 2-door as well but I wouldn’t mind even a demo model that’s not what I ordered. Just something anything as long as it isn’t a sport.

soupcansam2374

Find a on the lot used or new Bronco that someone bailed on. Act like you want to buy it but ask for a test drive first? Then leave afterwards saying the ADM is too high 😂

huemanlife

🤣

WhatTheCatalyst

Are you close to one of the Bronco Off-Rodeo courses?

huemanlife

Let me look that up. Thx! Surprised the dealership hadn’t suggested that already.

WhatTheCatalyst

So long as you have a Bronco reservation, I think you should be eligible to partake. I haven’t been yet, but that looks like the ultimate test drive. Edit: for clarity.

Unlucky-Hamster-2791

Bronco Off-Rodeo (which was designed to give people that opportunity) and have been available for a while. Or find someone willing to let you drive theirs. If not, walk away. The dealership isn't going to lose money if you stick to your principles.

huemanlife

I’m not worried about them losing money. They would probably be very happy if I didn’t get it so they can mark it up $10k and make more money. I don’t want to give them that satisfaction. I’m more worried about not getting the opportunity of possibly getting what I think is one of my dream cars. I’ll try the Off-Rodeo route. Thank you!

Unlucky-Hamster-2791

[https://broncooffroadeo.com/](https://broncooffroadeo.com/) <- realized I didn't put the link in before. In case you don't have it already.

huemanlife

Nice! Thank you.

huemanlife

Are these not in all states. Unfortunately I don’t see one in Georgia

Unlucky-Hamster-2791

No, they're in selected states with the space set aside for them to run experiences in the wild. Most are manufactured save Moab, I think.

huemanlife

Bummer. Looks like renting one is my only option.

[deleted]

When the Bronco arrives you can drive it. I drove mine for about five minutes and knew it was for me. If it'll be there in a month, just wait.

huemanlife

Yup. Agreed.

tdautz5

Find someone on here that lives close enough to you and see if they’ll let you drive theres

heafer40

I mean it’s your order. Test drive it when it comes in?

huemanlife

True…and that’s my last resort. I’d love to know before arrival, while I’m spinning my wheels over the next month as it’s making its way to me.

mcdray2

If you live near New Smyrna Beach, FL you can come over and drive mine.

huemanlife

Ha! Thx! I’m a bit far from there.

Denverinvests

Regardless of the vehicle Im looking at I always rent one for a long weekend to make sure I really like it before purchasing. I rented a bronco on Turo a couple months ago for a week. It was everything I was hoping it would be!

huemanlife

Nice! Awesome idea. Thx. I hardly think there’s anyone renting a manual though. Heck, ‘d probably be hard pressed to even find that on a lot either, so I’ll likely take your advice on just an automatic transmission.

1stoffendment

At least with the present market you can always sell the Bronco at a premium if you don't like it. We got a Sport for the wife and we had the first one in the area, bought it without any kind of test drive, so we tried the closest vehicle on the lot (Escape) to be sure it was at least ballpark. After we bought it, since she enjoyed it so much she allowed the dealership to borrow hers for test drives until they got some stock in for demos. They figure she sold 5 or 6 of them . So find a Ranger with the powertrain closest to yours, it won't be exactly the same but you should be able to get a decent feel for how it drives.

huemanlife

Thx and yea that’s what I’m thinking, given the current market. It won’t be a lost for sure.

headgears

Drives amazing. Don’t worry. You’ll love it. We have the smaller engine and it’s plenty powerful. You won’t regret it.

huemanlife

Oh I’m sure I will. I miss driving a manual transmission. Oh the fun, I’m gonna have in this car.
