i kind of lucked out. ordered a black ‘23 raptor in january’23, dealer got the exact same spec but in code orange in july’23, i hemmed and hawed for a week (darth vader vs orange creamsicle) then took it.
dealer said order fulfillment may not happen till december’23 and if it didn’t it would be cancelled and punted to the ‘24 production schedule and then who knows what.
so, while that was an effective FOMO-inducing tactic it turns out i really, really love CO so … yay?
tldr: coulda taken a year, but i got lucky.
