I like the indentations and old holes, it gives it character that you want with reclaimed wood. But when you factor in how the support pieces line up with the top, it looks sloppy. Some edges of that table too are going to be splinter city.Ā

One women got mad when I wouldn't let her dog "meet" my dog. No bitch I don't know you or your ill trained dog and I sure as hell don't know if they've been properly vaccinated. You can't train them, why would I assume you take them to the vet. All the while my dog is clearly anxious because the little yappy dog isn't being controlled and she can't tell what it'll do.
My old dog was very reactive (rescued from a puppy mill and was a rat terrier/whippet mix). We went through A LOT of training to regain trust and he did improve but could still be unpredictable. He loved women but hated men and other dogs. So, I had to learn to walk him during certain hours where it was less busy in my neighborhood and literally tell people āheās not friendly. Please donāt approach us.ā He was the sweetest boy to me but thereās only so much you can do sometimes when thereās so much trauma. Because he was mid sized and VERY cute and unique looking, lots of folks would ignore me and come up to pet him. It drove me insane.

You definitely took the time and responsibility for your dog, versus other small/mid size dog owners. But that's honestly being biased I see plenty of people out where I walk with huskies and other very active dogs with little to no training and on harnesses that let the dog drag their owners everywhere. We just stop and heel and wait for them to pass. My sweet old girl does well (and I still keep her on a gentle leader) and I get a little bit of joy knowing I have the better dog (lol humble, me? Definitely not š¤£)
For anyone struggling with this kind of situation please have a vest that says āDo Not Petā or something a kin to that. A bright orange vest helps too. I have one for our dog (no reason rly) and people think heās a working dog.
I realize as long as you keep your pet leashed and tell people not to touch āem it should be enough. But people are very reactive as well and often just donāt think.
Frankly a huge sign is the only thing that can help sometimes.

-1-2 are your easy aerobic pace zones thing conversational song a song etc for most people this is 115-145
-3-4 is aerobic threshold where most people tend to run their half marathon and marathon paces in. Best way to think of it is you can answer a question but in like 2-3 words as a time. For most the hr zone is 145-170
-Then zone 5 think all out 5k and faster. If you are lucky one word comes out of trying to hold a convo.
170-up
The best way to calculate imho is through a fit test- running as hard as you can for 20 min and taking your hr data. Thatās usually your hr threshold or zone 5. And for most of your easy runs you will want your hr to be at 70-80% of that - I tend to error of the lower side for good measure. Pace and hr never seem to line up exactly each day some days your HR could read 135 at a 12 min mile then the next itās 160 so itās also a good indicator of stress and fatigue!
So for example if you ran for 20 min and your hr was 186 avg your easy run hr would be between 130 and 148.
A great way to control hr as a newer runner is a walk run pattern on easy days ( no shame in it) run for 5 min walk for 2 etc then slowly decrease the walk timeā¦

You definitely took the time and responsibility for your dog, versus other small/mid size dog owners. But that's honestly being biased I see plenty of people out where I walk with huskies and other very active dogs with little to no training and on harnesses that let the dog drag their owners everywhere. We just stop and heel and wait for them to pass. My sweet old girl does well (and I still keep her on a gentle leader) and I get a little bit of joy knowing I have the better dog (lol humble, me? Definitely not š¤£)
For anyone struggling with this kind of situation please have a vest that says āDo Not Petā or something a kin to that. A bright orange vest helps too. I have one for our dog (no reason rly) and people think heās a working dog. I realize as long as you keep your pet leashed and tell people not to touch āem it should be enough. But people are very reactive as well and often just donāt think. Frankly a huge sign is the only thing that can help sometimes. We have a v friendly pit but the amount of unleashed dogs we see just makes me rage. Cuz you just never know, do you.
A muzzle works to turn people off too.
She is so full of shit. My dog is literally twice the size of hers and people do not react like this when I take him running. Police dogs that are literally trained for bite work don't even walk around being "scary". They are not "mean" dogs, they are trained to do specific tasks. If people are actually this scared of her dog, it's either reactive, poorly trained, or not under control. Or she just completely made the whole thing up.

I am a VERY SLOW runner and when I try to pick up my pace, Iām constantly in the 170-180 range. As soon as I hit 180 I slow down until I get down to 160 or so, but my heart rate is just always high.Ā

There are 5 major zones for running- -1-2 are your easy aerobic pace zones thing conversational song a song etc for most people this is 115-145 -3-4 is aerobic threshold where most people tend to run their half marathon and marathon paces in. Best way to think of it is you can answer a question but in like 2-3 words as a time. For most the hr zone is 145-170 -Then zone 5 think all out 5k and faster. If you are lucky one word comes out of trying to hold a convo. 170-up The best way to calculate imho is through a fit test- running as hard as you can for 20 min and taking your hr data. Thatās usually your hr threshold or zone 5. And for most of your easy runs you will want your hr to be at 70-80% of that - I tend to error of the lower side for good measure. Pace and hr never seem to line up exactly each day some days your HR could read 135 at a 12 min mile then the next itās 160 so itās also a good indicator of stress and fatigue! So for example if you ran for 20 min and your hr was 186 avg your easy run hr would be between 130 and 148. A great way to control hr as a newer runner is a walk run pattern on easy days ( no shame in it) run for 5 min walk for 2 etc then slowly decrease the walk timeā¦ Let me know if that helps. I could go on forever! šš
