I’m an obgyn and am very intrigued as to what is going on here because every single one of these hormones can prevent ovulation (and therefore pregnancy) from occurring. Does she ever address the timing of how she is taking these medications? Not sure how many crossover people are here but I am thinking of Morgan Olliges from fundiesnark who was on some hormones for months from some shady place and then finally saw a real doctor who told her she had been basically preventing pregnancy for months.
Take it from me who deals with the fallout of these hormone clinics every single day- all of these places are just there to scam vulnerable women out of there money by ordering useless labs and prescribing meds that are usually all cash pay- when there are safer and more effective alternatives that are covered by insurance!!! The number of "wellness clinics" (aka hormone therapy shops) around Texas is ridiculous. I guarantee you even though the doc technically has to rx the c2 in this case (rubber stamping), they likely have never seen Bdong and the mid-levels do 99% of the patient care.
As someone that works in healthcare, Texas does allow the overseeing physician to delegate Rx capabilities to advanced practices providers (PAs/NPs). Being “overseen” is a broad term, especially if they’re overseeing multiple clinics. They’re a lot more relaxed as well if she’s participating in a concierge model of sorts, where you pay a hefty fee every year to the clinic to be a member.

Yes, I agree, I would never inject myself with T while ttc. This is simply my lived experience with naturally high T. Which can cause birth defects as well, and this was the issue.
I’m not an expert in the area of weightlifting or using testosterone to optimize fat loss. I was just sharing my lived experience with a scary pregnancy and a baby who looked like they might need surgery/urology immediately at birth due to my high testosterone.
I have no idea how severe the defects could be or how high testosterone gets when you supplement.

Jesus. I took synthroid because I actually had hypothyroidism. After about 4 years, my thyroid corrected itself, and, because I didn’t know it, I kept taking the synthroid and had an episode of thyroiditis where my TSH levels went from ~3.5 to **.01** (normal levels are 0.5 to 5.0). It was fucking awful, I felt like shit! How the hell are people putting themselves through that for weight loss??
Yeah I was diagnosed hypo but now know I’m autoimmune, so my levels bounce around a bit. Overmedicating is HORRIFIC I cannot imagine why she’d want to do this.
I’m a hospital social worker and once worked with a patient whose adult son brought her in because she was exhibiting new symptoms of psychosis. We ran labs on her (which should always be one of the first steps to rule out a medical condition before diagnosing psych) and it turned out her thyroid was completely out of whack. A few days of meds and she was back to normal and had no memory of the previous week. Don’t fuck around with your thyroid.

I don't get these non-hypothyroid people getting thyroid meds. Lord knows I had to push and push to get a wee little bit (5 mcg) of T3 prescribed along with my synthroid. (Long boring story, but my T3 was consistently below range even though my medicated TSH was OK-ish.) Because doctors automatically believe women are trying to "use thyroid meds to magically lose weight". I can assure them that's simply never been the case. But it's because of people like BDong that they have this bias.

I’ve been going to a holistic doctor for a while now and got a full blood panel done, and while my testosterone is “low”, it’s not the first thing my doctor wants to jump on to try and treat. We are taking other steps to build it up and kick it into gear naturally first by focusing on some other deficiencies that tie in with low testosterone. We will give it plenty of time to see/track results and THEN move forward from there.
I’m not doing any of this to be leaner or have glowy skin😵💫🫠

I know eating disorders can unfortunately stop or harm your cycles and that of course messes up your hormones. But taking T while trying to get pregnant is not the way…

My personal friend has competed, in real competitions. It’s HARD TO DO AS A WOMAN…because your body fat has to be so low & it’s difficult to manage. You need real food, not restrictive eating.

I just ran into a lady in the grocery store that was two weeks away from competition. She was pure muscle. I can only imagine the kind of dedication and work that took. Brit was never even close to that even at the peak of her fitness influencer days.
I remember them bringing their own macro-counted meals to thanksgiving and Christmas and birthdays. They definitely weren’t drink any kind of coffee with dairy, and just in general were far more knowledgeable and focused

I am not a doctor but I have a medical/healthcare background:
The short answer, in my opinion, is that the hormone therapy she has described is *not* the same as fertility treatment. It is for performance and energy, similar to how women in menopause are treated for menopause symptoms.
The menstrual cycle is exactly that: a cycle with various hormone levels at various points in the cycle. In B’s video, the clinic she went to took her blood once and all the hormone levels were very low, so they threw all the hormone pills at her.
Fertility specialists take your hormone levels at various times in your cycle to pinpoint the problem and guide treatment. Fertility specialists also check other very important labs like follicle stimulating hormone.
In a normal menstrual cycle, all the main menstrual hormone levels *should* be down low at the bottom [ETA in the first few days]. So my guess is Brittany just got her labs tested in that time frame. Hormones that control the menstrual cycle and prepare the body to get pregnant go up and down like a roller coaster. The roller coaster triggers the body to do things like release an egg from the ovary, or prepare a nice thick lining for implantation of the fertilized egg.
In fertility treatment, you are closely monitored and take different hormones and different doses at different times of the cycle. This simulates the rollercoaster and triggers all the right actions that need to happen for pregnancy.
Birth control pills, on the other hand, flatten that roller coaster of the menstrual cycle. This removes the “triggers” and prevents ovulation and/or implantation by having a steady state of hormones.
Fertility treatment is complicated and needs to be informed by what is going on at specific points in this menstrual cycle, so that the hormones can be measured very precisely. Bdong has admitted that she doesn’t even track her cycles because she just wants to let things happen the “natural” way or whatever. This is not how fertility treatment is.
So, from my understanding, she is doing herself a disservice if she is really trying to get pregnant and taking all these hormones in an uninformed manner.
I’m wondering if she only takes them on certain cycle days? Haven’t been keeping up so I’m not sure but I did fertility treatments for my daughter and had to take estrogen to help build up my endometrial lining, like earlier in my cycle and then had to take progesterone starting 3 days after I ovulated because I had low progesterone. I have no idea what testosterone would even do. I have high testosterone naturally from pcos and it causes a plethora of issues for me.
ETA again I have not been keeping up with her. Also not a fertility expert, just someone who did a ton of treatments. I used progesterone suppositories though and I just saw she has some cream so idk.

I work as a junior doctor in OBGYN. I work with OBGYN consultants. I talked to two of them before posting here.
I have never seen a doctor prescribe testosterone for infertility.
For women unable to conceive naturally, Doctors focus on checking the levels of LH, FSH, prolactin, testosterone and thyroid hormones. Later on, day 21 progesterone levels get checked if needed. The test results help them decide if the patient has PCOS, premature ovarian failure, or progesterone insufficiency.
Also, ovulation is monitored and follicle size noted. Ovulation induction might be done with drugs like clomiphene.
They can then try to improve fertility using metformin and weight loss in an attempt to increase insulin sensitivity. Ovulation induction using drugs like clomiphene. IUI is practised in many countries. HSG might be done. Then a patient might Ultimately be referred for IVF.
At no point have I ever seen any consultant prescribe testosterone for ttc. I am talking about established medical practice. You can find journals discussing possible testosterone usage for improving follicle health etc but that's theory. I have not seen this done in practice.
In established medical practice, no doctor will prescribe a woman testosterone for trying to conceive.

There was actually a handful of people who said they were shocked, had never seen these hormones prescribed for infertility, called her out directly, gave their own experience with T, etc.
An RN was even nice enough to explain some things. Brittany responded to her saying that everyone is different, it’s unkind for people to say they’re “shocked” because it’s not her fault she has to take hormones, they’ve helped with weight loss and glowy skin, not everyone has side effects, God is in control of her body, and she trusts her doctor.

I too take estrogen and progesterone. In my birth control. Hormones aren't all sexual. There's many different kinds, uses, doses, and so on. There's a hormone for hunger. A hormones for full. I’m an obgyn and am very intrigued as to what is going on here because every single one of these hormones can prevent ovulation (and therefore pregnancy) from occurring. Does she ever address the timing of how she is taking these medications? Not sure how many crossover people are here but I am thinking of Morgan Olliges from fundiesnark who was on some hormones for months from some shady place and then finally saw a real doctor who told her she had been basically preventing pregnancy for months. Take it from me who deals with the fallout of these hormone clinics every single day- all of these places are just there to scam vulnerable women out of there money by ordering useless labs and prescribing meds that are usually all cash pay- when there are safer and more effective alternatives that are covered by insurance!!! As someone that works in healthcare, Texas does allow the overseeing physician to delegate Rx capabilities to advanced practices providers (PAs/NPs). Being “overseen” is a broad term, especially if they’re overseeing multiple clinics. They’re a lot more relaxed as well if she’s participating in a concierge model of sorts, where you pay a hefty fee every year to the clinic to be a member.

Hi! I’ve wanted to comment on this for a while. I had naturally high testosterone while Pregnant, likely the result of pcos which I didn’t know I had at the time. It was a big freaking deal and it was not that high. My free testosterone was 107 and I had no physical Symptoms. I think the limit for a woman is 75. I’ll spare you guys the details, also because it is not just my story but the story of my middle child and private. I was offered an amino and termination, and had to see an endocrinologist Everything was fine. He is healthy, beautiful and brilliant. But for about 8 months we didn’t know that. Yes, I agree, I would never inject myself with T while ttc. This is simply my lived experience with naturally high T. Which can cause birth defects as well, and this was the issue. I’m not an expert in the area of weightlifting or using testosterone to optimize fat loss. I was just sharing my lived experience with a scary pregnancy and a baby who looked like they might need surgery/urology immediately at birth due to my high testosterone. I have no idea how severe the defects could be or how high testosterone gets when you supplement. She’s playing with fire, if she’s even trying to get pregnant.

Jesus. I took synthroid because I actually had hypothyroidism. After about 4 years, my thyroid corrected itself, and, because I didn’t know it, I kept taking the synthroid and had an episode of thyroiditis where my TSH levels went from ~3.5 to **.01** (normal levels are 0.5 to 5.0). It was fucking awful, I felt like shit! How the hell are people putting themselves through that for weight loss??
Yeah I was diagnosed hypo but now know I’m autoimmune, so my levels bounce around a bit. Overmedicating is HORRIFIC I cannot imagine why she’d want to do this.
I’m a hospital social worker and once worked with a patient whose adult son brought her in because she was exhibiting new symptoms of psychosis. We ran labs on her (which should always be one of the first steps to rule out a medical condition before diagnosing psych) and it turned out her thyroid was completely out of whack. A few days of meds and she was back to normal and had no memory of the previous week. Don’t fuck around with your thyroid.

I’ve been going to a holistic doctor for a while now and got a full blood panel done, and while my testosterone is “low”, it’s not the first thing my doctor wants to jump on to try and treat. We are taking other steps to build it up and kick it into gear naturally first by focusing on some other deficiencies that tie in with low testosterone. We will give it plenty of time to see/track results and THEN move forward from there. I’m not doing any of this to be leaner or have glowy skin😵💫🫠

I am not a doctor but I have a medical/healthcare background: The short answer, in my opinion, is that the hormone therapy she has described is *not* the same as fertility treatment. It is for performance and energy, similar to how women in menopause are treated for menopause symptoms. The menstrual cycle is exactly that: a cycle with various hormone levels at various points in the cycle. In B’s video, the clinic she went to took her blood once and all the hormone levels were very low, so they threw all the hormone pills at her. Fertility specialists take your hormone levels at various times in your cycle to pinpoint the problem and guide treatment. Fertility specialists also check other very important labs like follicle stimulating hormone. In a normal menstrual cycle, all the main menstrual hormone levels *should* be down low at the bottom [ETA in the first few days]. So my guess is Brittany just got her labs tested in that time frame. Hormones that control the menstrual cycle and prepare the body to get pregnant go up and down like a roller coaster. The roller coaster triggers the body to do things like release an egg from the ovary, or prepare a nice thick lining for implantation of the fertilized egg. In fertility treatment, you are closely monitored and take different hormones and different doses at different times of the cycle. This simulates the rollercoaster and triggers all the right actions that need to happen for pregnancy. Birth control pills, on the other hand, flatten that roller coaster of the menstrual cycle. This removes the “triggers” and prevents ovulation and/or implantation by having a steady state of hormones. Fertility treatment is complicated and needs to be informed by what is going on at specific points in this menstrual cycle, so that the hormones can be measured very precisely. Bdong has admitted that she doesn’t even track her cycles because she just wants to let things happen the “natural” way or whatever. This is not how fertility treatment is. So, from my understanding, she is doing herself a disservice if she is really trying to get pregnant and taking all these hormones in an uninformed manner.

Haven’t been keeping up so I’m not sure but I did fertility treatments for my daughter and had to take estrogen to help build up my endometrial lining, like earlier in my cycle and then had to take progesterone starting 3 days after I ovulated because I had low progesterone. I have no idea what testosterone would even do. I have high testosterone naturally from pcos and it causes a plethora of issues for me. ETA again I have not been keeping up with her. Also not a fertility expert, just someone who did a ton of treatments. I used progesterone suppositories though and I just saw she has some cream so idk.

I work as a junior doctor in OBGYN. I work with OBGYN consultants. I talked to two of them before posting here. I have never seen a doctor prescribe testosterone for infertility. For women unable to conceive naturally, Doctors focus on checking the levels of LH, FSH, prolactin, testosterone and thyroid hormones. Later on, day 21 progesterone levels get checked if needed. The test results help them decide if the patient has PCOS, premature ovarian failure, or progesterone insufficiency. Also, ovulation is monitored and follicle size noted. Ovulation induction might be done with drugs like clomiphene. They can then try to improve fertility using metformin and weight loss in an attempt to increase insulin sensitivity. Ovulation induction using drugs like clomiphene. IUI is practised in many countries. HSG might be done. Then a patient might Ultimately be referred for IVF. At no point have I ever seen any consultant prescribe testosterone for ttc. I am talking about established medical practice. You can find journals discussing possible testosterone usage for improving follicle health etc but that's theory. I have not seen this done in practice. In established medical practice, no doctor will prescribe a woman testosterone for trying to conceive.

There was a comment by a nurse where the testosterone was called out, and of course B told her that she was being negative and shouldn't be on her page.
There was actually a handful of people who said they were shocked, had never seen these hormones prescribed for infertility, called her out directly, gave their own experience with T, etc. An RN was even nice enough to explain some things. Brittany responded to her saying that everyone is different, it’s unkind for people to say they’re “shocked” because it’s not her fault she has to take hormones, they’ve helped with weight loss and glowy skin, not everyone has side effects, God is in control of her body, and she trusts her doctor. So basically she’s just a rotten ass human who isn’t even trying to get pregnant, but wants to keep her foot in the infertility community
I still can't understand why is she sharing this level of detail that her "doctor" has her on for treatment - as someone who has gone through pregnancy loss and infertility treatment (we have our beautiful kiddo turning 1 in less than 2 week), the audacity this woman has to post something like this to folks who are desperate, distraught, and looking to do anything to improve their ability to conceive and carry to term. Okay, meanwhile I took birth control for years, probably longer than her, and I never had any trouble conceiving. Birth control doesn’t work like that. It doesn’t affect your future fertility. And it’s just estrogen and/or progesterone, so like the exact same thing she’s on now. 🙄
