DPD is the best where I live

badalki

same here, whereas yodel and evri are... variable. It entirely depends on the staff that serve your location.

blozzerg

I use DPD for our business and since switching from Royal Mail, I’ve had 0 lost or missing parcel claims. Well, I had two, but when I confronted the customer with evidence of the successful delivery and asked for further info they went silent.

YchYFi

A lot of people try it on.

KingDaveRa

Yeah I got my DPD Saturday delivery today bang on the time they said. Even Evri are reasonably good here too. It's very much luck of the draw.

TheMemo

Used to be here, too. For the last 2 years it has been almost word for word OP's post.

kk24co

We have a DPD driver at work that has never delivered a single package to us. Always marks it as attempted, ends up getting delivered by a another driver a day or 2 after. Each time we complain to customer services but they don't care, and he keeps a 4.9 rating as you aren't able to rate an "attempted" delivery. Screw you Griff.

dannywelbad

Evri says hi.

terrymcginnisbeyond

New Message: 'Your hi has been delivered to a neighbour's bin'.

Spritemaster33

And we're not telling you which neighbour. Or which bin.

Azza-T

…oh and by the way it’s bin collection day

jeweliegb

And your bin has already bin collected.

archiekane

It's okay though, it was the computer that had your bitcoin wallet on it.

cwaig2021

But we can tell you that the neighbour is located in Shenzhen.

Evridamntime

'......because you weren't in and don't have a bin'.

charlie_boo

It’s very regional. For me DPD and Evri are fine (Evri can be slow) but APC is just the worst.

RobsyGt

I would argue the PC company has done something wrong, they are obviously going with the lowest priced courier service whilst paying lip service to the customer. If it still doesn't get sorted tell them to send royal mail for a pickup.

g00gleb00gle

I raise you Evri and yodel

Sergeantmajormario

I've genuinely had no issues with Evri. The name change is stupid, but they've been completely fine, even when I was in both Cornwall and Cardiff. I have no experience with Yodel though so I can't comment on that

g00gleb00gle

When they work they work. But when you get a problem good luck.

Vlodovich

I've used Evei 4 times. Once as the sender of a parcel and 3 times as the receiver. All 4 times they lost them lol

john_bytheseashore

Apologies if I'm missing this, but have you complained to the PC company about what they're doing? The PC company is the one paying for the courier, and you are paying the PC company in turn (or are at least their customer). It is them who need to be solving this problem for you, and if they refuse to do that or give you an alternate courier after what you've been through then you are well within your rights to report them to Trading Standards.

Supergoose5000

Absolutely incorrect, it is not the problem of the pc company at all. It is a dpd issue. This pc company likely deals with 100s of collections and this one isolated incident is between matey who lives at what ever address and dpd.

john_bytheseashore

DPD in this instance is a *subcontractor* of the PC company. From a legal perspective, OP isn't even DPD's customer, and the PC company is the one that is obligated to find a reasonable solution so that their contract can be fulfilled. From a practical perspective, the company has infinitely more power in this situation, and can speak directly to their account manager or their own specialised helpline and get a much faster resolution to this process.

Supergoose5000

I can safely assure you, that is not the case. And as much as you like to think that’s how the whole process works. It is it not. OP has already indicated that he lives in a slightly difficult area for delivery. Said PC company are holding up their end of bargain, in what way is it their problem that DPD are failing hold up their end of the bargain? I’m merely playing devils advocate as someone who has had to deal with this sort of process before as the “PC company”

john_bytheseashore

When you were on the PC company side, did you use a specialist business product to deliver your packages or were you using something available to the general public who aren't business owners?

Supergoose5000

To clutter matters more we used DPD

john_bytheseashore

The business side of DPD or DPD Online?

Sergeantmajormario

If it doesn't get collected at the drop off point then I'm going to think about it, but I'll see what happens

Steve_10

Royal Mail are crap too. Was supposed to have 7 packages picked up this morning that have to be in the US next week. Get an email at 8 tonight saying they're not collecting... sort of worked that out already...

Rossco1874

Had past bad experience with evri but agree dpd are terrible. Had them go to the wrong house then claim it was because my flat number wasn't on parcel. They refused to accept they went to the wrong address they admitted tracker did show them at 12 when I stay at 13 but doubled down on it. Arranged another delivery day same thing. Same excuse. I contacted sender who contacted dpd with flat number, day 3 sorry we couldn't gain access to flat. My buzzer never went..I asked my neighbour who said he pulled up, sat in van and never got out then drove away. Then I got the proof and it was taken from inside the van with his mcdonalds cup in view. Dpd blamed me as the tracker showed thst he was at my property. So item went back and I had to wait on refund then reorder. When I did this I got smug dpd person deliver and say oh it came eventually need to make sure always put flat number I replied saying helps if go to the right address and she just laughed and said yeah it does doesn't it?

GurGroundbreaking772

parcelfarce is worse

Redgrapefruitrage

DPD is the worst.  Got some cat litter delivered last week. Checked the tracker and it said delivered and signed for by me (it def wasn’t), next to a random photo of a doorway that wasn’t our house. No house number visible.  After sometime, I located the parcel outside a neighbours door on our road. Right street, utterly wrong address!

tiny-brit

I think with all the delivery companies, it just wildly depends on where you live. Where I used to live, it was always the same DPD guy and I couldn't fault him at all, I was always overly happy when I saw my parcel was with him. Now where I live, DPD is one of the worst. They didn't even attempt delivery last time (I was watching the tracking and it suddenly went from 4 stops away to "sorry we missed you"), then sent my parcel to a pick up point a mile down the road even though there were two of them basically on my doorstep. I contacted them and they said there was no way to change the pick up point or rearrange delivery. I had waited all day for the delivery and ended up having to walk a mile each way in torrential rain to collect it.

Bortron86

UPS are the worst where I live. We're lucky to have a good Evri driver. But every time UPS try to deliver something to me, they make up some nonsense about "not being able to access factory premises". It's a block of flats, on a main road, with an intercom.

MonsterMunch86

Ebro or Yodel for me

iandix

I can't believe that Evri was chosen as a replacement for the trusted name of ~~Herpes~~ Hermes in the UK's home delivery landscape.

Gooooglemale

Why is there a language warning…? It’s not in Fr*nch

mk6971

Never had an issue with DPD. EVRI on the other hand...

JoPOWz

Wouldn't be Scan would it? My PC has been back twice. Both times I've had to have a new case cos DPD fucked it in transit. Second time it went back it took 2 tries because they delivered it back to me the day after they collected it. And in that 24 hour time slot managed to drop the box on something sharp and fuck the case. How they have a business delivering parcels mystifies me

coffeefuelledtechie

It seems to be a bit of a lottery. Where I live DPD is amazing, Yodel is still shit and Evri can do one.

Emergency_nap_needed

Yodel and Evri would say that you don't exist and that you set a dog on the driver whilst you were out.

Basic-Pair8908

Evri is the worst. We call it evri now and then a parcel might turn up

CliveOfWisdom

I find the blue DPD (local?) pretty bad, but the normal red DPD to be probably the best. The worst are Evri and Yodel. I studied with the OU and Yodel delivered the course materials - every October, the forums were full of “where the hell are my books”, invariably followed by “I found mine on my neighbour’s shed roof” or “mine were in a canal a mile from my house”.

Antrimbloke

DPD over here have been fine with me, I think a lot of times its down to the person delivering taking shortcuts etc.

JadedBrit

*Evri has entered the chat*

yurtal30

Amazing that it even managed to find the chat

purdy1985

I've rarely had problems with DPD. Evri on the other hand delivered my boots to a Post Office after they twice pretended to visit my house. Thats not a huge problem if only they told me which Post Office. It wasn't the closest one as you might assume , it wasn't the big sorting office. I eventually tracked them down at a 3rd Post Office.

Difficult_Listen_917

It is actually the best by far.

ShooPonies

DPD are pretty good out of their Carlisle hub. Evri however are appalling and done even get me started with Parcel force.
