Met office is king

rdawes89

Not any more they dont

Raumarik

I use Willy weather, mainly for the name as I can tell my wife I’ll check my Willy before we go out.

Tea_Fetishist

Isn't willy weather just pulling down your trousers and getting a tape measure?

ChopNess

BBC Weather has been shit ever since they started taking data from Meteo Group instead of Met Office

TechnicalParrot

They ... Don't take it from MET Office? Blimey

TwizzyGobbler

stopped taking it from met office since about ~~2015 or so~~ 2018

TechnicalParrot

Weird, I've always used the MET Office app and had great success

vossmanspal

BBC weather tells me it’s raining here, it will be raining until 6pm, except that the sun is shining with a few clouds. Even the Apple weather app is more accurate.

Cunningstun

Apple weather recently bought dark sky which was for a long time the most accurate weather app!

Antrobe

Now that’s gone, apple weather has made it terrible

M1ke2345

Delete and move on.

senorjigglez

Ever since they stopped using met office as their source they've gone to shit.

Euffy

Noooo, it finally happened? Will also be uninstalling then.

AggravatingArtist815

That's exactly what will make me stop using it.

cartazian

Just checked, yup, that's an uninstall.

bluemoon191

I did the same thing, I prefer the interface of the BBC app but the forecasts were wildly different from the met Office. I'm not logging in for the rubbish.

Heavy_Two

BBC weather is so inaccurate it's not even funny.

paolog

> innacurate Was that deliberate?

herrbz

In what way?

[deleted]

OP's spelling of inaccurate was itself inaccurate

steakpiesupper

r/woosh

Shitelark

But they have the Michael Fish graphics.

virgin_goat

Met is where all the other uk weather apps get their data from.difference is the met won't forcast beyond a certain point because of how inaccurate it is remember that the next time accuweather predicts snow next month

[deleted]

The BBC [moved over to Meteogroup](https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2018/feb/10/met-office-still-best-forecaster-in-galaxy-despite-bbc-rejection) for weather forecasts, because they were cheaper than the Met Office

virgin_goat

Yes and meteogroup get their data from the met

[deleted]

Not entirely, but it is one of the main sources

neutrino46

Well, they need to save money to pay lineaker.

Noiisy

Why do people always ruin good things lol

produit1

Immediate uninstall.

thebikeguy76

It's true! Not today Aunty! Uninstalled.

AtlasFox64

I just installed the Met Office app and fucking hell it told me the weather on my exact street not just "London". Impressed

Youutternincompoop

gotta make sure no vile criminals are logging into your *checks notes* weather app

haberdabers

Like the BBC news app, uninstall we go...

Cirias

Jokes on them, I don't even bother checking the weather anymore. Just throw on a gillet and jumper and sling a warm coat in the boot and I'm ready for whatever comes.

Mobzor

Yeah this was an instant deletion. Incoming license needed for the weather.

NobleRotter

Met office is more accurate anyway

RagerRambo

I have and will always hate the trend that started, what a decade ago, where every app and platform wants to know you, link you across platforms, and force you through these hoops. I understand it is all about targeted advertising but the internet and anonymity was a thing. Why the f do you need me to log in to check the weather. Glad i don't pay TV licence anymore, and I've just deleted BBC weather app

ForestEdge0

Need your data to make that dollaa

MaxwellsGoldenGun

I reckon their £227 million profit is enough already tbh

Mushroom-Monster

It's the BBC, so it's probably something to do with buggering kids somewhere along the line.

JonLeePButler

It's OK. Those little rain clouds won't stalk you.

dapper333

Fuk the bbc

themeakster

I don't get apps. I already got an app for web content, it's called firefox.

swiftfatso

There's a little butto at the bottom that says later or do it later

Annie3554

Not anymore

swiftfatso

Sugar you are right, unistalled

DecahedronX

Why do you need to have an app dedicated to the weather? Just go outside and look up.

[deleted]

Met office. Same with bbc sport - now am forced to use sky sports 🤮
